I also have the Taos Star and I like the fit of it better, but this is good. The Star seems to have a slightly narrower heel, which is important to me. I love being able to wear comfortable shoes without having them look like athletic sneakers.

Ordered 1/2 size larger based on other reviews so they did fit. However, the stitching inside rubbed and the shoe canvas was quite stiff and uncomfortable. I like to be able to wear my sneakers without socks and there was no way that I would be able to do so with these without a whole lot of bandaids. I have other Taos canvas sneakers (Plim Soul) that are softer than these. Returned.

I like the look of this shoe very much. The arch support is almost too much for me, though. I appreciate having arch support, but the insert is really thick. Another reviewer said it leaves little room between the bottom and top of the shoe, so you foot can feel a little squeezed. I might end up replacing the supports. Also, I ordered up half a size, but almost feel like I should have gone up a one full size. I decided that the canvass might stretch a bit so kept what I ordered.

Oh, how I wanted these shoes to work! I have large, narrow, flat feet and wear custom orthotics. Finding attractive shoes that fit comfortably has always been at best, a challenge and at worst, a nightmare. Being thrilled to find these in a 12, I was quick to order them as I have been hoping to replace a pair of Simple shoes that I found several years ago. The shoes were a hint short in the toe, nothing I couldn't deal with, but not as roomy as I expected. The main problem is that the footbed liner is well cushioned but uncomfortable. It is too high, not in the arch itself, but in the area just below the ball of your foot. I tried removing it and replacing it with my custom orthotics, but it turns out that ALL the structure to this shoe is found in the liner. There was not enough structure for the shoe to hold my orthotic in a way that gives the support it needs. Alas, a return is in the works!

Ordered both the Taos Moc Star and Taos Star. The Taos Star is stiff compared to the Taos Moc Star which is much more flexible and more comfortable on the back of the heel. Though the Moc Star is a little more, worth it to me.

I ordered a half size larger based on reviews but wishing I had gone with a full size larger as they rub against my heal a bit. They have stretched out a little which has helped. Really cute sneakers with great arch support.

I ordered these shoes twice, having to go up a half size from 8.5 to 9. The first time I wore them, I thought about sending them back entirely because my feet hurt. However, the second time, my feet felt great! I think this was due to wearing a better sock (not an anklet). The arch support is excellent, and I bought them specifically for walking on a tour of England. I wanted something that would go with several different outfits so I could pack lighter. So, mine needed some "breaking in," but were fine thereafter. I recommend wearing them around the house for a couple of days before heavy-duty walking.

I ordered a half size larger than my regular size after reading reviews that it runs short. The extra half size up gave me a little extra room in the toe area and the arch hit my foot perfectly. I have a narrow foot, so I was surprised at how narrow these fit in the heel and arch/instep. I can wear a regular width shoe as long as I can tighten it up snuggly and the heel isn’t too big. I imagine this shoe might feel tight on a B width foot as I don’t have to adjust it much tighter for my foot. I haven’t worn it for extensive walking yet, but it is comfortable when I wear it running around shopping. If you have high arches, this shoe has a great arch support. A person with flatter feet might have to sub out the insoles. I bought this to replace a pair of favorites with a similar look - I just wish I could get a 10.5 in some of the other TAOS styles.

This is a well made shoe with great arch support. After trying a seven, which seemed a little tight, I ordered a half size larger than usual, but it felt a bit large for me. Sadly returned them.

I really wanted to like these shoes because I thought they would work with both dresses and shorts. However, I felt overall they just weren't as comfortable as sneakers should be. They also weren't as supportive as I expected given the insole. Unfortunately I returned them.

My normal shoe is 7.5-8. I have narrow heel and wide toebox. I ordered the Taos Moc Star, Star, and Starburst – size 8 in the first and 8.5 in the others. Q&As indicated that all the Taos sneakers are similar shape/sizing, but it was too hard to see design differences online so I got one of each. The shape of the foot that Taos uses is straighter and narrower than my own, especially in the toebox. The size 8 was too short; my big toe bumped the end. The 8.5 was long enough, but still too narrow and low-volume in toebox for my big toe. I liked the Moc Star style, but the Taos shape just doesn’t match my foot. All three have gone back. I ended up getting a Keen sneaker.

I love, love these shoes, but…I am very sad that they are already breaking down. I wear them for errands etc.-not every day. I put them on yesterday and discovered that both shoes are broken at the flex point. The rubber outsole is cracked and the fabric is failing at the seam. I would gladly get another pair for the comfort, but I cannot justify the price for their limited life.

Cute shoes. I have a low arch. These have a very high and firm arch. I know from trying Dansko shoes with a high arch that after wearing a bit my foot hurts and cramps at my arch. I had to return.

These sneakers have laces that need to be tied even though the pictures show the laces as decorative. I have a disability that prevents me from tying laces so I will have to return these thanks to what I consider false advertising. They’re also called “Moc Star” which made me think “moccasin” which don’t have laces.

I ordered the graphite distressed and I’m so bummed. The color is a solid dark smoke gray. I saw it at a retailer a few months back and it was definitely distressed. Maybe I got a bad pair or maybe they changed the color but it’s pretty ugly. I have this shoe in denim and it’s a super cute style and incredibly comfortable but this color is yuck.

I love Taos shoes and own a few pairs. These just look cheap. The fabric is faded and thin. Fit is okay, wider in the toe box than other styles.

Weirdly tight fit from top to bottom of the shoe. Length and width were fine, but the depth was really off -- not something I've experienced in other shoes. Even loosening the laces fully didn't help, and the fabric is thick enough that there is no "give." A shame, because I like the design and it seems to have good arch support.

I love the looks of this shoe but not the fit. I ordered one half size larger so the front of the shoe fit okay but the heel slipped up and down when I walked so I knew they were going to cause blisters. Socks were out of the question because there was not enough room in the front part of the shoe. So sorry that I had to return. I have always heard such good things about Taos and was eager to try my first pair. With this experience I might try a sandal but not another closed toe. I cannot say enough about Zappos customer service though. It is the best.

I thought they would be very comfortable given the description and price, not at all comfortable! Cute but no way can I walk in them.

Loved the style. Wanted to love the sneaker but felt the foot bed wasn't deep enough to support my heel.

I purchased these as a first-time needer of arch support shoes that aren't ugly/frumpy-looking. I read all the reviews and sized up to a 10.5 based on the 10 that I normally wear in flats (and I normally wear a 9.5 in heels). The fit was great, and the width was fine. I sent them back because they were uglier than I had thought they would be, and they were super clunky too-- like a Taurus for your feet. The comfort level was fine, but the arch support was much firmer than the comfortable pillowy bounce for which I was hoping. I am returning these and instead looking for some athletic shoes that are lighter weight with more flexible/pillowy cushion.

I went with the advice of other reviewers and ordered a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. That was a good suggestion as the shoe fit perfectly. I also ordered a wide shoe, to accommodate issues that I have with my feet - again, that was great - there was no squeezing of my foot in the toe box. However, there was very little padding on the sole and my feet felt bruised after wearing the shoes around the house. I tried a different insert (orthotic), which helped a little, but sadly, not enough to convince me to keep the shoe.

I normally wear a 10W in Taos shoes. The Moc Star was way too big. Unfortunately, I had to return them. I love the arch support in a Taos shoe. There is no need for me to wear my orthotics when I have a pair of Taos shoes on my feet I'll look for another style. Wish all their shoes would come in a wide!

I love the look and style. I ordered my normal shoe size and the Moc Start was too snug in length. I also believe the excellent and high arch support causes the shoe depth (around the heal) to be a bit shallow and a little uncomfortable for me.

These shoes have absolutely no arch support. They are cute looking so I wanted to like them but even after putting in my orthotics, I wouldn't be able to wear them without irritating my plantar facititis.
