Out of the box, I loved how these shoes looked and felt. They were very light, flexible, and comfortable. However, I quickly discovered that the "wide" shoe had a very narrow sole in the midfoot. This resulted in my foot "muffin topping" over the edge and a lot of ankle instability. I ended up having to take them off for any squats or deadlifts while working out. I was disappointed, because I liked the overall concept of the shoe, but if you have anything but a narrow foot, this shoe won't work well.

It is true these shoes do run narrow, but I have a long, narrow foot. Overall I love these shoes and thankfully they come in size 15 :-)

Used for a combo of strength training and recreational field sports - great combo shoe, very comfortable - much better to handle the running/cutting than metcons, nanos and foam soled running sneakers I've used in the same training combo.

I've been wearing these to EXOS 4x a week for the past month. Solid all-around performer...lifts, sprints, jumps. Little to no offset - which I like. The lateral support could be a little tighter but overall it's been good. Keep in mind, it's a minimus shoe. If you want cushion, this ain't the one.

They looked small, but they are called the "minimus" for a reason. There is really not much shoe there. We'll see how they last over time. Despite the small "look", they did fit, very well in fact. Very true to size. The tongue is pretty thin and wants to fold over easily and bunch up, so putting them on involves a little extra finessing of the tongue.

Its a great shoe and very light weight. They look good also.
BUT this was my first time ordering on ZAPPOS. I wear a size 16 and was impressed with finding a nice shoe in my size on ZAPPOs site. I even more impressed because I ordered 2 pair of shoes and they showed up in a few days.
Real easy process on this site. Found me a new online store..

Really liking this sneaker so far. I had the 20v2 years back and I’d say the width is similar. I had to return the size 11 I bought and get an 11.5 so they definitely run a bit smaller than the v2. Arch support is also a bit more pronounced than the v2 if I remember correctly.

I was looking for New Balance in bold colors. Since I must buy two pairs to accommodate by different sized feet, I needed them to be economical. These met both challenges. They are comfortable and pretty.

I wear a size 12 and I purchased a 12. The shoe seemed almost exact to size.. maybe slightly smaller but not enough to warrant buying a half size bigger in my opinion. The shoe is a bit narrow around the mid foot/arch area, but I actually think it give the shoe a nice snug fit. I’ve performed squats, deadlifts, and power cleans in these shoes and so far the have felt great. For reference I and 6’1” 198lbs and I wear a size 12 in almost every brand of shoe. I would say the width of my foot isn’t abnormally wide, just average with a mild/moderate arch. If you have wide and flat feet, this shoe may not work for you.

This is my 3rd minimus pair of shoe, however, I was so disappointed because of the size. I ordered 7.5 (my other two are 7.5) but it feels like size 8 and my socks keep slipping down all the time. As a result, I hate wearing it. But I really love the style of it.

I love these for short runs, any agility drills, and most workouts, but for something labeled as a cross-training shoe, I find the outsole of the shoe is too narrow to be comfortably used with a big number on the bar. I would just feel safer with a little more support around my midsole and heel when I shift my weight back for certain powerlifts. Besides that, they are super comfortable, lightweight, and I love how much I can feel the ground when I run in these.

Seem very well made. Not as soft & flexible out of the box as I was expecting. Fit well. My Nike flyknits were much softer & flexible out of the box. Vibrant sole on a sports shoe are also going to take some getting used to. Having said all of that I love the flat soles and they seem quite sturdy for the weight. Have a feeling once they 'break in' they will be good long term shoes. Just wasn't looking for running shoes that needed 'breaking in'. Was expecting better for the money. (Despite other reviews the fit is great and the wides are wide!)

Way too narrow. I'm returning mine. Shame. I own other NB shoes and they're great fits. But these are too narrow.

If you have wide feet and are semi-comfortable in NB 990, 992, 993, 990 v4 or similar 2E, these are not the same. I can tolerate(4E preferred) 10.5US 2E width in NB 1540v2 and 993 or 990v4, but 10.5 Wide in 20v7 has side of foot at 5th toe / pinky / little toe well compressed into the side of the shoe and at least the 4th toe feels up into the front of the shoe. Unclear if a size 11 or 11.5 could make it better.

In a previous review, I had mentioned returning my pair of 14 2E in black in hopes that perhaps the narrowness was simply a manufacturing defect. The green/ gold fits exactly the same. Rather than return, I went out on a limb and just wore them. Although the fit is not acceptably wide (even for an "unbroken" shoe), they do in fact fit very similarly to the V5's I had been wearing for 2 years. After wearing them for a treadmill run, I was not bothered by the width, only the flatness. I have some doubts about the longevity of the new fabric. Overall, not bad but I intend to use this pair for electric skateboarding, not running.

Ordered 14 2E in black. Width feels nothing like the 2016 MX20TX5 (also 14 2E). Those had a very similar goofy toebox shape and were almost sloppy they were so wide. These new ones feel very similar, just way too narrow. It's so wrong I might even assume there was a mix-up during manufacturing. I have re-ordered in a different color and will report back if they are any better.

These shoes fit. They are true to size. I purchased them because they were described as providing superior support for use in workouts. I don't consider the support to be superior in any way. In fact, the fabric used in construction is so unsupportive that my feet move laterally. FYI, I am 6'5", 245 pounds and 70 years old.

This is my third version of the V trainer shoe. I loved my two earlier versions. This last one I bought feel a lot smaller, the toe box is a lot smaller. The wide toe box was the biggest reason why I loved these shoes. I love new balance and I seriously hope their v8 goes back to the great shoe it was. I bought my pair at a New Balance store when I was out of town so I couldn't exchange them for a bigger shoe because it would have cost me an extra $30 for the return shipping and cost of a new pair.

Ordered extra wide but the shoe is definitely made for really skinny feet, even in extra wide. Had to be returned. Definitely a different fit than all my other new balance shoes.
