Bought the boots almost 2 years ago. Recently got wet and noticed they leak water into my shoe; no obvious entry point. Any remedy? Bought a second pair a year ago because The boot has been that good.

Pleased with the overall look and construction of these. Only minor thing is takes some time to break in on the top and bunion area of my feet.

This is a great boot, and themost comfortable i have had in years. I don't need arch supports or anything - it's great as is. This is a continuation of my purchases of this boot. I love it so much that this is the only boot i wear. i bought 3-4 in prior years, but with COVID, these were out of stock for a year and it was difficult to find a comparable replacement. I'm glad they are back.

Gore Tex is water proof enough to use for snowshoeing and April 14er ascents here in CO. Only gripe is that snow can get into the shoe if you posthole but that not really the boots fault, although would be interesting to see what they could do with the heel cup and tongue to mitigate that. Laces are a little short/thin so I replaced them with my old Merrell laces

The shoe fits true to size and feels great on your foot. I returned them because of the lace hooks on the ankle. I tend to sometimes walk and bump my ankles and in the short time that I had them to try them on, the inside hook caught the other shoes shoestring. I wish it was more of a metal loop as opposed to a hook. Otherwise, I absolutely loved the shoe. I ended up getting the salomon x ultra 3 gtx with the speed laces.

Needed new ones badly and they arrived right before the snow in West Texas showed up. Did 12 miles delivering mail and they were a life saver. Little snug but man did they pull through.

I posted a review earlier. I noticed a few complaints about laces loosening. They're high quality laces that I suspect will wear in for grip. Until then you can include an overhand below the top hook and that seems to solve it. FYI.

These boots slot nicely between my Quest 4s and XA Pro 3D V8s. They provide decent support and comfort (but not as much as the Quest 4s) and are light and flexible enough to allow fast hiking/trail running (but not as much as the XA Pros). Note that you can definitely feel rocks and roots under your feet, so I would not use these boots for highly technical and/or multi-day trips, but they are perfect for day hikes on groomed or semi-groomed trails. They are light enough and water proof enough to use as general foul-weather boots around town. Quality seems good, but I only have a few hikes on them, so we shall see.

I bought these on line for a day hiking trip to Olympic National Park and Rainier National Park. Did great in all kinds of PNW conditions with little or no break in, rocky wet trail, beach, mud, sand, even some snow. 6 - 7 miles per day. I did sweat them in during travel but other than that out of the box no issues. A little soft for backpacking, but that's just me, some people can carry a pack in sneakers. Good job. Even a compliment from one of the Park rangers.

I have put 1,100km and 67,000m elevation gain in some of the harshest conditions into my pair of Salomon X Ultra Mid 3 GTX, and now they are at the end of their life.
These boots are excellent in almost every way, they are very light, extremely comfortable, have decent grip (could be better on rock), are extremely waterproof and seemingly survive what you throw at them pretty well. I have taken these in some extremely harsh winter conditions and they held up great.
The only reason I am now retiring this pair of boots is because the fabric towards the toes has torn in multiple places, to the point I can see my socks through the holes, thus rendering them unusable in rain/snow. In dry conditions I'd still be happy to use them though, the grip is in fine shape. This is the cost of using lightweight boots, they ultimately will not last as long as more rigid boots, but I cannot complain as I've put a huge amount of kilometers into these, more than one could reasonably expect.
My biggest issue, and the main reason I am dropping one star, is because I had a perpetual problem on the back of my lower ankle with these boots. There is some sort of rubbing point on the lower ankle which, without fail, gave me blisters on every single hike that was longer than around 5km. If I was hiking further than that I basically had to put a large, cushioned Band-Aid on both of my ankles to prevent terrible blistering. Thankfully this cheap solution worked fine, but I feel there is some sort of issue with this boot that may result in the same for other people. I do not believe I just received a dud pair, I think there is a flaw in the design that results in rubbing in that one spot. Not only does it cause blistering, it also rapidly destroys your socks by rubbing a hole into the ankle of your sock in the same spot. I went through a few pairs of hiking socks as the same spot would rub off.
Ultimately, for me personally, I wouldn't buy these boots again just because of this blistering issue. I'm hoping that the new X Ultra Mid 4 resolves this, as otherwise this boot is almost perfect.

Worked very well at first but there seems to have tears near the pinky toes on both shoes. Not cool because I’m a mail carrier and when it rains I can feel it.

Put on a few hundred miles on these over the spring time and I was really impressed at how much I liked these boots. Lightweight, comfortable, and very durable. The perfect lightweight hiker in my opinion. The only negative that I found is the waterproofing. It lasted a few hikes through minor water or dew on the grass but after that it was like the boot is not waterproof at all. I tired some products to revive the waterproofing but that only worked for about a day before I had to reapply. But I'll be buying more in the future despite my issues with the waterproofing.

I have had these boots for a couple of months. The day after I got them I did a 5 mile hike with no issues. Breaking in was easier than most boots, especially at this price. No issues with breathability but the boots are fully waterproof. In the past couple of months I have put easily 300 miles on these boots and hope to put that many more over the summer. And I do this in confidence that these boots are going to hold up and provide good comfort along the way.

I have a wide foot and was looking for a lighter backpacking boot that would fit my foot. the reviews were great on this boot and I love them. I use them on extended hiking trips, winter hikes and even everyday shoe. They have held up well to many trail and road miles.
Love them so much I just bought another pair for the 2021 season.

Love these boots, on 3rd pair, however my most recent ones have the most annoying snapping / popping sound , only from the left one , but it sounds as if they're going to blow out on me at any given moment. This was out of the box too. But overall they're pretty good.

Purchased recently to replace pair of Oboes that had worn out. Went snowshoeing on a cold deep snow day and they performed perfectly. Only complaint is the left boot makes a weird popping sound when walking on hard surfaces and I cant figure it out and it is very annoying. Might see if its possible to exchange for another pair and see if its just a flook?

It has been an year with these hikers. I walk on woodland trails everyday, in all types of Atlantic Canadian weather. My feet stay dry, warm and comfortable. I am disappointed that the sole has started getting flat on some parts. I wish there was a wide winter option. I have recommended this boot to several fellow hikers. Love the fact the company in based at home.

After purchasing a few items of Solomon sportswear recently & having been impressed by
the quality I decided to try their footwear.
Needed hiking boots for winter trail walking (that here in Canada means snow & ice)
I purchased a 14 Wide. The boots are extremely narrow in the toe box & I would say not even as wide as a regular size of other brands. The box they came in says 14EE, there is nothing on the label except "14" & a red paper tag on the shoe laces "Wide".
Due to COVID I also purchased online Salomon XC ski boots & trail running shoes without trying them unfortunately. I think that readers with wider than "normal" feet should be made aware that for whatever reason Solomon manufacturers their footwear for narrow feet.
There is no mistaking the build quality of Solomon shoes / boots, shame about the sizing & the lack of information regarding fit.
Now back to my sore feet, Happy & safe New Year to all

This boot is probably the most comfortable boot I have ever own and they are so incredibly light. The one drawback to this boot, and for me is a big one is that they do not have a Vibram sole. I find the grip of this shoe even on dry services does not come close to comparing with a vibram sole. My first hike in these boots was in kind of rainy weather. was climbing down a big rock surface, my feet slipped and went right out from under me. I put my arm out to brace my fall and ended up hurting my shoulder. That was a month ago and my shoulder still hurts. This would not have happened in my old boots. I would not want to be in a very technical hiking situation in these boots. I was going to try to return them but decided to keep them for the flatter hikes I do. If this boot had better grip I would have rated it a 10 out of 10

I purchased a pair in 2017. Since then they have been nothing but a dream. I'm purchasing a new pair now because my old ones blew out in the toe box. I don't know if it was due to design or the fact that I always kneel down like a catcher. However, I noticed a few design changes, especially to the front and tongue.

Bought these for my husband with 12.5/13 wide, somewhat flat, feet. Finding boots that wear comfortably is very hard. After a little breaking in, adding gel inserts and widening the laces, they were great for a week of hiking in the Smoky Mountains.
