Returned after 1 hour of wear. My foot was irritated by the interior stitching across the top of my foot. It is very noticeable after walking and standing a bit. Otherwise this would have been a keeper.

I wanted to love these shoes. They have everything that makes shoes great. I put them on and felt like I was on clouds. Then I took a step and it sounded as if I was walking with plastic bags on my feet. It broke my heart. Had to return.

I bought these shoes for a Kilimanjaro trekking trip. The first few days the shoes were perfect until Day 4 when somehow the were not waterproof anymore and my feet starting getting soaked with water. Definitely not 100% waterproof as advertised.

I bought this boot earlier in the year due to the look and mostly because it's advertised as Waterproof. I work for a Police agency which is located in FL on the coast. During our duty we conduct beach checks using an ATV. From time to time waves will hit my boots, and after patrol we wash the ATV with a water hose. No heavy water just enough to wet the shoe. There has been times I after patrol I will go home with my boots wet. Can you recommend another model which is truly Waterproof? I like the boots, the style, comfort, but I really need Waterproof.

I've owned many boots from north face Merrill and timberline. I bought these as my daily worn work boots I'm an owner operator working in all four seasons so I need a boot that's up to the task. These are stylish and look great. They are comfortable I can wear them all day everyday and have no complaints. I have 2 issues, waterproofing and outer sole durability. I'll start with the waterproofing. I'm sure I'm not the only one who drops this kind of money on a pair of waterproof boots and puts them on for the rain and then crosses fingers and starts praying for that first puddle test. Sure enough wet socks. It's not terrible I still won't avoid puddles but still how many "quality" name-brands do they have to put on a boot before it backs up the claims. Now the soles. I've had longevity issues with vibram soles.... every time I buy a boot with vibram soles. Idk if it's because I wear them daily but they wear down or start to blow out. I usually need a new pair every year. I'm not gonna be getting this same pair but I'll stick with north face again I guess.
-1star for lack of waterproof
-1star for worn down outer sole

The boots were wonderful in my mind since they fit nice and snug and after long walks I did not feel any fatigue. The only problem I have with these boots is the waterproof claims. They're definitely not water proof in any sense of the word. When I wore these for the first time in the rain they held up pretty well and I didn't notice any moisture other than my own moisture created from my body. Once I encounted a puddle I decided to tip toe through the puddle and once the left toebox hit the puddle the shoe immediately flooded with water. I could not believe it. I figured since it was north face and goretex, two brands that have a very high reputation for quality merchandise this would never happen. After that awful experience I went home and dunked the right boot into water and the entire foot bed became moist and started to even bubble. I took these directly to a north face store in manhattan and they were understanding and kind enough to give me a new pair since I only wore my pair for a handful of times. The 2nd pair ended up having the same issue. We experienced some light snow fall yesterday and my left toe box began to flood yet again like the first pair. I'm really disappointed since these boots are so comfortable and I'd hate to give them up but I need something thats reliable in terms of waterproofing and these just don't fit the bill. Since gore-tex products rely on a PTFE membrane that cannot be sew into the shoe I'm thinking north face either punctured the membrane during the manufacturing process or the gore-tex membrane bootie is somehow defective.

Not sure these are the best for overpronators. I have classic flat feet, turned in ankles and bunions. After a 5 mile steep hike the small bones in my feet were sore and ankles rubbed against the sides. The good news and to me this is just as important - no discomfort in my knees, hips or back. So good news the spongy sole saves the body but may not provide enough support if you have foot issues.
I have many other NF shoes and sneakers and chose these over comparable Merrell and Oboz.

I used these on my AT thru-hike. Only got about 250 miles out of them before they started to fall apart. Uncomfortable for hiking more than 14 miles

Utter trash. Disintegrated after less than a year of light use.

I have had quite an ordeal with this company and these boots are the end. I bought these boots because I had another pair that was sent back due to a defect. First, these boots turned out to be anything but waterproof and then just three months in they developed problems in the footbed where they support my feet unevenly, resulting in extreme pain by the end of the day. I'm not going to bother sending them back for a refund because my previous experience with that demonstrated that The North Face's warranty policy is meaningless. I will never spend another dime here. At this point, I've wasted hundreds of dollars on two pair of faulty boots and numerous failed pieces of rain gear. The North Face makes nothing more than attractive landfill.

Purchased this boot for an upcoming Patagonia trip and on my very first use, it started leaking water as I stepped into an inch of water that just went above the toe line. Overall the boot felt comfortable and it was lightweight. Unfortunately, I purchased the boot for its "waterproofness" and it failed on the very first use.
I would not recommend this boot if you need something that's waterproof.

Have had this product for about 6 months now and the sole of the show is starting to come off the coating on the bottom sides of the shoe is becoming discolored and chipping away. i am not satisfied with the quality/durability of this boot for the cost, especially since i never really got to use these boots for hiking yet.

The vibram megagrip sole is excellent, gripy on every terrain I've tried them. Even on wet surfaces performs great. The cushion is also great. The lacing system excellent. The TPU protection around the shoe is great. Also the stability is quite good for a hiking boot. But the Gore Tex doesn't works. From the first days my feet where very wet because of my own moisture. They doesn't breath at all. Also they are not waterproof. On very few circumstances stopped water from entering (small stream and pods). In rain or potholes full of water the left boot became flooded completely! The right boot turned wet from the inside but not flooded. I've left them to dry and it took 36 hours on hot conditions( 25 Celsius outside 22 inside). Then I've submerged then on water again to see what happens and the water penetrates the boot. I've used a specialized sprey for protection and waterproofing didn't worked. ( 25 min on a rainy day and then completely wet). You cannot used then on a hot day you can't used them on rain. Useless product. Waste of money. If you want waterproof boots try full grain leather combined with membrane and for summer non membrane mesh lining shoe.
