I looked around for several hiking shoes and finally bit the bullet on these one. At first they felt and looked bulky, but boy, I wasn't disappointed at all! I bought these for my trip to Iceland where the weather changes a lot, one minute it is sunny, the other minute it is raining cats and dogs and ridiculously windy. Furthermore, the terrain is gravel based, rock based, and slippery; these shoes countered it all. I wore these on the Black Sand beach where the waves came almost between my knees and ankle, and not a drop went inside my shoes (FYI - I was wearing dry pants over the boots). I wore these on several hiking trips where I walked through puddle/stream of water, ankle height, and not a drop of water penetrated. Very good traction and grip of different types of surfaces. Lightweight and comfortable walking too. I walked/hiked around 80-100 miles on these shoes in Iceland and I would recommend it.

Much more comfortable than other North Face boots, or any boots for that matter. These things are amazing I can't wait to take them on the trail! Fits like a true size 9 with space for heavy wool socks. The grip on the bottom is very impressive.

I did lots of review reading and determined my top two boots. These won out due to being $70 cheaper. Nice cushioning and high quality material. I do lots of walking and wear these for work.

Took these shoes to Iceland for hiking across its rugged terrain and volatile climate, (snow/rain/sun/hail), and these shoes tore through it all with ease. I'd buy these again in a heartbeat.

I bought these shoes in all black two days before an eight day backpacking trip. They immediately fit my foot (without breaking them in). They were lightweight, comfortable, and completely waterproof. The mid-height provided great ankle-support. Overall I would buy these again.

Bought these boots for my trip to Peru where I knew I would be doing a lot of hiking an trekking. Wore them for a total of 3 treks one for 30kms another for 60kms and one for 80kms, they preformed in all weather conditions from extreme heat to rain to sub zero blizzards without getting wet and cold or sweaty they did it all, steep mountain passes to steep declining switchbacks not a single blister or hot spot all while carrying a 15kg hiking pack, I would recommend them to anyone needing a boot that can take it all.

I have bought a lot of hiking shoes, some are too heavy, some are too slippery. This one is the best currently. It is light and breathable, grip and comfort. Recommended !

I just came back from a road trip that took us across the country from Florida to the Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone, Banff Alberta and Seattle. They when through rain, snow and mountain hikes and I have more pictures to prove it. These were the only pair of hiking shoes I used and will ever used from now one. They were extremely comfortable and I put in a lot of hours on them. This is an excellent product from TNF and I highly recommended them. More pictures coming soon.

I was extremely impressed with the comfortable of these boots. I'm glad I bought these boots because walking through water was a breeze. My feet where dry from walking through water up to my ankle 12 hours of walking my feet were comfortable the whole time extremely impressed. The bottom soles where fantastic walking on gravel trails in Duluth and wet rocky side they griped extremely good. I will buy another pair when these wear out

I took this pair or boots for their first hike to Inyo National forest to peak Jean, Marion, Mt Ellen's, and Drury. They performed better than I anticipated very comfortable with very sticky soles. I use a heavyweight smartwool sock and they pair perfectly. The biggest surprise to me was how light these boots feel. Definitely recommend

I bought these boots for only one reason, hiking. I measure 9.5 on a brannock, therefore I ordered a 9.5 and they were too big. I prefer a tighter fit so I went with an 8.5. They were a little tight on the sides at first but after my first mile I loved em. I hiked Mount Monadnock in NH which has large granite area at the top and still have pockets of snow. The boots had fantastic grip on both surfaces and I can't wait to get more miles on them.

So far I've done some aggressive long hikes on difficult trails and they have performed very well. They're super light and the most comfortable boots I've ever worn right out of the box. Plus I love that they're available in all black! I thought it was impossible to find synthetic hiking boots in all black until I found these.

I bought them 2 days ago. I've already hike three nearby mountains. I've used them on trail, off trail on a rough rocky terrain, on dirt road, city streets and grass. Also I've tested them on a small pod and stream of water. They performed excellent!! I didn't expected to perform so well on a rough terrain but they did and I am very happy!! They are very grippy and comfortable, also stable. For a hike boot the stability was great considering the rocky environment. The insoles (footbed) could be better but are not bad. The heel are absorbs impact like an air unit and the fastfoam returns energy so I can even run on every terrain. The TPU coat protects very well the hell and toes, but in the middle side it's a bite soft so need some attention if you're moving off trail. They're greate boots and is I am very happy.

I am a medical first responder in a rural area. These are great for me because they add stability on multiple types of terrain while I am doing important work...ie. extricating people from wrecked vehicles and carrying them on a spine board up muddy/rocky hills to the ambulance among other things.

These boots have some wicked grip. Whenever I go hiking it feel like I am wearing some Bridgestone tires on my feet because I had grip on every rock I climbed.:)

Gifted a pair to my brother for his birthday, and also bought a pair for my husband. They are both super happy with the quality, style, and performance. They both agreed that these felt "like a glove". Ha!
