These are cushioned. That is great buutttt.... they rub the sides of my heels. If I tighten them they cut my circulation off. They also rub the outside and inside of the ball of my feet. I'm not real sure about these. I don't like wearing band aids on my feet to prevent blisters.

These fit well as I need a very wide sneaker due to bunions. After wearing them for approximately 2 months the right sneaker has a hole worn through on the top where there used to be a vinyl covering but is now only mesh.

This shoe was definitely padded and comfy in that sense but it was so heavy that I could never run in it! May be a good options for non-runners.

These shoes would be awesome and fit perfectly... if I didn't have pinky toes. The only place they don't fit well is there. I've been buying NB shoes for years and never had this problem. They rub my pinky toes and have made them quite sore. I was hoping I just needed to break them in. Nope. I'm kind of disappointed by that. I buy the EE size because I have low arches, but that didn't help my poor widdle toesies.

I loved the shoes as soon as I put them on. Best support for my arches. After 5 months the eyelet broke, they are plastic. That is the eyelet I need for support. I'm taking them back to the store to see if anything can be done. Otherwise, great arch support.

I own and have worn the 1340 x2 the purple pink shoe- for 4years- I own 2 pairs, and rotate them. I have a very high arch, and I pronate a lot. I like the high stability of the new shoe, and the better color choice ! BUT what did NB wrongly take the leather toe protecter off the big toe area, where your big toe nail will eventually poke through the toe box mesh- if you do a lot of walking as I now do (I did 12 years of serious Triathlons, including the Hawaii Ironman- 3 times placing in the top ten women) and have run many 5k's,10k's half and full marathons in my life- but I had a bad fall and broke my pelvis, and shoulder- so I now just walk. NB- please put the leather toe piece back on. Note- the old model 1340x2, still costs more the this newer model shoe ! Please explain that lol :)
I'd also recommend:
I prefer New Balance, I have a high arch, and a wide toe box. have tried ALL major brands of shoes

I had to take a break from wearing the sneaks as I developed blisters on my right bunion area and my left little toe. I need to see what foot products I can buy to lessen the pressure in these areas. I realized that my past two sneaks were totally mesh in the front. I walk 2-3 miles per day and am on my feet much of the day.

Theses shoes are well made but the fit is small. Disappointed. Been wearing this size all my adult life and was frustrated with the poor fit. Love the shoes but a review of the size charts, I believe is in order.

I went up a half size and my foot feels crushed under my small toe. It is a beautiful shoe but not comfortable on my feet.

I have worn NB shoes for years very happily, in the same size. These shoes hurt my pinky toes. I will try to see if they loosen up but I'll probably donate them.

Sadly it's not until you have worn shoes a few day that you can tell if they are going to break in or not. The bed of the shoe is very comfy but there is a seam that runs along my pinkie toe that rubs so bad that I cannot wear them for more than 30 minutes at a time before they are just too painful. I was hoping as I wore them that they would stretch out and break in and not be so but that is not the case. I have been wearing them for 30 minutes a day for the last 2 weeks and I still cannot wear them and now cannot return them either.

I usually wear New Balance, but the toe box on this style give me blisters immediately. I've worn them twice so I don't think I can return them, which is a bummer because they are an investment. I will probably be moving away from NB shoes in favor of a brand that will be a bit more consistent

I've been a loyal New Balance customer for years but have increasingly been disappointed with my purchases. I wear the shoes for urban and light trail walks and wear them for an average of 3 miles of walking per day. I bought the 1340v3 to replace a pair of 1540v2 that I had purchased about nine months previously. The 1340v3 began pinching my small toes almost immediately. I tried to measure the interior width of the toe box at its widest place and compare it with measurements of my prior pairs of 860v8 and 1540v2. I'm not confident that I measured completely accurately but my measuring attempt indicated at least a 1/4 inch narrower toe box in the 1340v3's. The fit on my old 1540v2 was good but the heels wore completely down to the sole base in under nine months and 3 mile average daily walking! That is way too soon. The model I had purchased before that (maybe it was the 940?) wore a hole in the netting covering the big toe in less than six months because New Balance had significantly reduced the amount of harder material toe shield. I'm not that hard on my shoes; these sorts of wear issues indicate to me that New Balance has done too much cost cutting in their designs. After wearing only New Balance for over ten years, I am finally calling it quits.

Because of many foot ankle issues I've worn NB for over 14 yrs. Being over 5 hrs from a NB store I've always bought at other retailers. I recently walked over 800,000 steps in the hiking boots 1400 in Sept and Oct. In this pair of 1340 I can't walk 5,000 steps without my plantar fasciitis so inflamed I'm limping. I keep trying them to see if it's just a fluke but its everytime. I bought them a few months ago before they were on sale and wore them outside so couldn't return. Ordering online is not easy. Might have to go back to the cheaper retailers to find a pair I can wear without so much pain.

Typically love this shoe, but for this pair, the tongues slip to the outside of the shoes. I constantly have to stop and adjust the tongues, and if I don't, they rub blisters on my ankles. Hoping that the issue will diminish with wear, but I've run about 20 miles so far, with little improvement except that my feet are getting more adjusted to the friction created.

I bought these shoes for walking and to help alleviate foot pain from plantar fasciitis but the shoes leave little to be desired as far as heal cushion or arch support. The shoe itself is heavy and makes walking unbearable and awkward. I would not recommend these shoes to help with any of that if you have foot pain.

I'm hoping that these shoes will break in, but right now they are causing some blisters on the outside of my little toe. I usually don't order Wide shoes but this is my first time ordering New Balance shoes for myself and maybe they run narrow.

May be that they are not broken in but this is the first pair of New Balance that I found to be ill fitting right from the get go.

I have worn the 1340v2 shoe continuously for the last 5 years so have owned several pairs. Loved the purple/silver color and the fit was great right from the start. I was disappointed to see the purple was no longer available, but I could live with that so purchased the 1340v3. Big mistake! The entire shoe has changed and not for the better. They are extremely stiff and heavy and the toe box is much narrower. After wearing them for 3 hours I was developing blisters on my little toes. I am not a runner, but need the stability for a job where I am on my feet constantly. I can not imagine trying to run in a shoe that is this uncomfortable and heavy. In trying to "fix" something that wasn't broken New Balance has now ruined a perfectly good shoe. I will have to start searching for a new style.

Having worn this style every day for several years, I bought another pair not expecting the fit to be any different. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The updated version is very hard and heavy. The toe box is narrower and began to give me blisters after wearing them for just a couple of hours. A color change is fine, though I prefer the purple, but why change the entire shoe when you already had a good product. Please leave well enough alone!
