I use these for doing pest control. Walking on attic truss in 130 degree. Grips well.

I've been a fan of Merrell footware for close to 20 years, particularly the Moab low and midride ventilated hiking boots. Knowing how comfortable those boots have always been, I thought I'd give the Moab 2 tactical 8" boot a try for an upcoming deer hunt this November in the southern Arizona desert. I've been wearing these boots everyday for about 2 weeks at work and the comfort and fit are outstanding. I've worn a number of other manufacturers leather hunting boots over the years and none of them are as comfortable or as lightweight as the Moab 2. Blisters with the Merrell's are definitely not an issue. The only down side is that due to their vented design, cactus spines could make things interesting. I guess I need to make sure I'm not walking into any cacti...not always easy...but I consider a few cactus spines to be an acceptable trade-off when I consider the overall wearability and comfort of these boots. Needless to say, I continue to be a huge fan of the Moab line of Merrell boots.

First of all I like Merrill boots. I had originally ordered Under Armour and after walking around the house they didn’t fit, but again I am used to Merrill. I found the boots not unlike my Moab hiking boot. I read that some had trouble with getting them on and off, but I found the zipper convenient. I still need to give the some more time hiking/walking around so the jury is still out. Have some concerns about ventilation, but here in Texas aside from sandals, ventilation is always an issue.

I was looking for a pair of light weight comfortable boots for hiking during PRS matches and theses boots are perfect. Comfortable and wear like a tennis shoe and support like a boot. I have worn MERRELL stretchs for years and love them. MERRELL fit, comfort, and reliability is what I have come to expect from their footwear and this boot delivers all that. I would definitely recommend this boot for someone looking for a solid comfortable boots. I have worn Rocky, Danner, and all the name brands but I will buy these MERRELLS again.

I ordered WIDE size, according to my fit. They boots fit very well and were comfortable. Hiked 5 miles and feet were fine after. Boots did not need breaking in, imo. I really liked the side zipper for extracting boots. Waterproof agency on boots worked well as my feet stayed dry hiking in heavy dew. Boots seemed very well constructed. I would order these again.

The online ordering was simple.
Product arrived on date stated.
The fit is great and sized what i ordered
Only had for about 2.5 weeks everything is good.
would like to see a pair of these that would be snake proof and the tops about 2 inches higher and it would make a great snake proof hiker.
Will buy again if holds up good for couple of years

Just so you know, I have about 6 different pairs of Merrell boots, so I'm used to how they feel and fit and perform, and some are better than others. I have two pairs of the MOAB 2 mids, and theyre good enough to wear all day even pounding the concrete at work.
I received these promptly, delivered on a Saturday, and when I pulled them out of the box I couldn't believe how light they are. I don't think they weigh any more than my mids do. I started wearing them right away, at work in the yard and all over the place and they are, so far, the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. Waterproofing I cant comment about but the dew on the grass here never makes it to my toes.
I'd like to see them in color combinations, like the MOAB's. I'd then probably buy another pair.

This by far the BEST boot I have ever owned. It feels like I'm wearing a tennis shoe plus it's waterproof. I wasn't sure if I would like the zipper feature, but it sold me. In Indiana our weather goes from bone chilling to low 70s in the same week. These boots were warm in the cold and my feet didn't get hot in the warmer weather. I'm looking to buy another pair and put in my closet for when my first pair are done. In 17+ years as a LEO I went through a lot of boots and I finally found the best pair.

Boots are really comfortable only change I would make is I wish there was a pull tab in on the back of the boot to help with putting them on.

Broke boots in for one month, went into the flat tops of Colorado elk hunting for one week. Boots held up great. 4 stars because during a wet patch of two days I did have water inside the boots, mostly one of the boots. Also had blisters, but honestly any boots would probably have given me blisters with the demanding hiking I was doing. Heel needs to have higher up support and they need to come in the olive green!

Great duty boot that holds up well, is comfortable and wears great. After a year the creases on the sides of the boot near the toes began to crack and the boot was no longer waterproof. Overall a great boot

I do really like these boots but the toe guard is susceptible to getting chipped up thus letting sand and small rocks getting in behind the guard thus damaging them even more. Merrell really should enlarge the toe guard and protect the front more. I imagine these boots will last a long time but the toe guard will be going fast.

This is great pair of shoes for me. Great fit and confort in the hot desert of Arizona. Have to get use to the zipper, but no big deal. Have not tried them in wet grass yet to see how waterproof they are, but rest sure I will.

Purchased approximately 3/4 months ago and I have been wearing them constantly. Putting them through the works. Rigorous use and terrain. Initially I purchased them for work and immediately I noticed they were considerably lighter, durable and warmer than my previous boots (great for winter).
I've tested them on long days (12-18+hrs) of hikes, whether they be on concrete, trails or snow. They perform exceptionally and are more certainly waterproof.
Love the size zip feature and they are true to size. Fair price for the quality.
My only qualms with the boots are that the insoles are fairly firm/rigid so as you can imagine after long days on foot my feet can get fairly sore.
They are warm (sure great for winter) but the "impermeable" feature does not breathe as well as they make it sound to be and so I find my feet damp and hot by the end of my days.
No grip/traction on icy terrain.
One last con is that the leather scuffs/holds dirt marks fairly easily. Not a big deal in most cases but considering I initially got these for a Professional purpose it has proven to be a bit of a nuisance.
Though Ultimately I'm glad with these.
I bet they'd be killer/that much better if Merrell introduced they're comfier insoles into these.
