My husband liked these sandals at first, but then he got chafing/bleeding from the strap that goes over the toes. He has very wide feet and overall these weren't wide enough for him. They also seem to run at least a half-size too long. We are a wide-footed but very active family and would love to see these in a wider-version. The straps are adjustable, but the soles are not wide enough for us in both the men's and women's versions.

I've owned several pairs of Teva's over the years and they have always been comfortable to wear right out of the box. The straps on these are not cushioned well and dig into my feet. Maybe I bought the wrong pair. Hopefully these will break in soon.

Was told to go a half size up so I did and just not a good fit.

I love everything about these shoes, except that the bottom of my feet become dark green every time I wear them. Seems to be color from the material rubbing off. I've washed them thoroughly with soap and water multiple times. But the problem remains. I've reached out to Teva but haven't heard anything back. Planning to keep them. However, I've made it a ritual to wash my feet in the shower after every use.

The life span of the sole attaching was very poor. Loved wearing them for about 5 mos, per year, on sidewalks, and easy woodland trails. Bought them in May 2020, in July 2021 the soles of both sandals began separating from the base of the sandal. The tread was not worn down, but the attachment was failing badly. I had thought that the quality of Teva would be much better than this.

I have been wearing Teva Hurricanes for almost 20 years and I have loved them to death wearing them until I can't wear them anymore. I need to replace my old Hurricane 2 and I ordered them online and to my dismay they didn't fit and my big toe hung off the side. I typically wear a men's 12 shoe and boot but the men's 11 had fit me great. Now the 11 is too small and the 12 fits weirdly and isn't comfortable. Please bring back my beloved old style! I want to wear Tevas but now I need to look elsewhere. Bummed!

(User's husband writing...) I wanted to love these, I have the regular Hurricane model from a few years ago and have loved them. These older sandals have acquired an 'odor' so I was looking for a replacement. The Hurricane XLT is indeed lighter. The 2 stars are for the footbed, which was fine even though it ran a half size shorter than the Hurricanes. I sat them next to my size 9 original Hurricane and the XLT is noticeably shorter - a half size or possibly a full size, I'm not a shoe engineer. Where I take off 3 stars and where these went wrong is the straps for the upper. I wore them for a 6 mile walk with the dog and acquired 5 blisters, the most severe on the top of my left 'big toe joint' where it rubbed against the strap. Yes, I adjusted everything 15 times. I'm not sure I want to try a half size bigger based on how rough the upper is. The Hurricane original required minimal adjustment and never gave a blister.

I thought they looked great. But after a day of wearing them around, they gave me the worst pain right behind my big toe on both feet, where the straps had worn blisters and rubbed the skin raw. I was pretty bummed since they were the only thing I had brought on holiday and I couldn't wear them anymore.

This review is actually for the last pair of Hurricane XLT2s that I bought last year. Let me tell you, I love my Tevas. I can't count how many pairs I've had over the years. I've had Tevas that lasted several years, and survived camping on Catalina twice a year during those. I'm used to wearing through the sole before the straps fail. I used to put them in the washing machine- cold, no dryer- but then the soles started delaminating. So I glued them back together and stopped doing that. This last pair blew a strap early on. I retrieved the invoice only to discover they were 14 months old and the warranty is only good for 12. Very disappointed, but still bought TWO more pair. At this rate, I'll have to start buying them three or four pair at a time to keep pace with the failure rate. Then today I see that the sandals I paid 70 for a couple weeks ago are now 49. The only advice I have to offer is y'all should buy some better glue. And you might try putting a steel shank in your more heavy-duty hiking sandals. And if you're really feeling crazy, you could make a cycling version you can mount cleats to the bottom of, like KEEN used to make. Just my .02

The quality has definitely gone down on these. My 8 year old high mileage Tevas fit better than these. Straps too short and hard to center my foot on the sole.

I really like the function of these sandles, but on my left foot the plastic pieces and straps rub my ankle raw on both sides. The right sandles does not behave the same way. I have attempted adjusting the straps multiple times with no success. I imagine this is something that only would be an issue for some people.

These shoes look great on, but very quickly formed a sore on both little toes where the plastic band connectors are located. Filed the rough edges down but still an issue. Also the quality of sole material seems questionable as it doesn't seem very durable. Not that I will be wearing these often enough to tell. I would not recommend them to a friend.

I wore them for an extended period of time. I walked in them and at the end of the day I found I had blisters just below my big toes. I guess extended rubbing against the place where the straps connect was the cause.

The triangular plastic piece by the outside upper foot gave my son blisters. Returning for a different shoe style without that piece.

I was looking forward to putting on a new pair of Teva's! I had gone through over 2 years of procedures on my feet to get rid of my plantar fasciitis and it is summertime which calls for sandals. I loved putting them on. They felt like my old Teva's from years past. And then I took a step. They are NOT like my old Teva's. :( The design has a line (where the foot bed is molded) and it runs directly under the ball of my feet. Every time I took a step it felt like the shoe is cracking. It reminded me of when I was a kid and I had those really cheap navy canvas shoes... when they wore out completely and got a hole in the bottom near the ball of the foot, it felt very floppy. Mentally I knew these were new sandals but they instantly took me back to when I was 8 years old and my shoes were falling apart and I had to use duct tape to hold them together. Sorry Teva, you need to do better next time.

I needed a durable pair of sandals/water shoes for a three week long field course I took two years ago. These were absolutely perfect! They were comfortable to work in all day and I loved how easy they were to clean. I wore them pretty regularly over the last year and felt that they were pretty durable. But now, barely even two years later, the tread at the front of the sandal is completely separating from the solesomething that wasn't happening when I put them away for the winter. I'm incredibly upset by this because they're my favorite pair of sandals, and additionally I know people who have had the same pair of Tevas for over ten years so I was expecting a shoe that would last for some time.

These sandals look very nice and I am usually always satisfied with Teva sandals. But, these sandals were not what I expected. And I was disappointed. The straps are flimsy, and the hard plastic triangular hooks where the straps go through are rough on the side of your heels and toes. I would not recommend these.
