Positive side: The red colorway is so good. Have garnered many compliments! Negative issues: I have another pair of Hurricanes, I believe they are Hurricane 4 or whatever came out last year. This year's model, the XLT2, are slightly different. I do not have chunky feet, yet I am wearing the front straps at their loosest possible setting and they still feel a little tightI'd appreciate at least another 1/2 inch of play. The soles are kind of flexi-floppy in frontnot as sturdy as the earlier Hurricanes. Sometimes it feels as if I could trip over the front of the sandals as I am walking (and I sized down, so there's no excess sole in the front). Finally, the straps themselves seem to be a lesser grade of "ribbon "than my other pair: skimpier and a bit cheaper feelingno biggie, but noticeable. Bottom line: a sturdier sole and longer straps and these'd be perfect. Hope the design department takes note for next season.

Wears well in multiple settings: hiking, in the rain, around town. Wish it had a molded footbed like the 20 year old Tevas I replaced. That'd be worth 5 stars!

I am a true 7 and these felt more like a 6 1\2 but still fit well, i would like a little more sandal at my toes but looks good. i got the ones with grey souls and strip straps love the color especially for fall. These a my fourth pair of Teva and they never disappoint, I have chacos to but for the comfort i love my Tevas! Would highly recommend if you have never owned a pair.
I'd also recommend:

I can wear my XLT 2 every day with no pain or rubbing. I have 2 XLT from last year and an XLT 2 from this year. No pain, great traction, and the toes are raised just enuf I don't have to worry about stumbling. I wear them walking with dogs, gardening on rough ground...everywhere. I have worn Teva styles over the years because I love the strapping style and comfort. XLT 2 is even better padded and I will soon be buying another pair (please....just a couple lighter neutrals). I ordered an 11 this year....not much of a length difference by charts, but my curved inward big toe doesn't go off the sole. The only problem was getting used to the XLT 2 over instep strap that sticks out at the sides. I asked about it and got the greatest customer service response. It doesn't really get in the way, and now I don't even notice it. It was time to change out some styles I'd had for years, and XLT, XLT 2 are the only shoes I will wear in the summer now that I've buried all my old styles in the sand.

Normally I wear an 8 1/2 in sandals so I ordered a nine and they were huge. Very long wide toe bed so I returned them for an 8/and they fit good. Toe bed still a little wide but very comfortable and cute shoe.

I have Teva Hurricane and Teva original in size 8, the XLT2 was too small in a size 8. I am normally an 8 1/2. There is less velcro on the toe strap making this shoe narrower than other Tevas. The comfort pad on the heel is smaller so if you need to adjust it you may not have enough padding either. If you are a half size you may need to order up instead of down. I am returning and will try the size 9.

This is my go to pair of shoes, once the temp is above 60. Love the fit. They are comfortable no matter how long I wear them or how far I walk. A little disappointed that the material for the straps isn't a little more durable/ sturdy. Otherwise love the sandal.

I've got a collection of the original Hurricane XLT's that I love, so when I saw the photo of this multicolored (mostly purples with some chartreuses, and a two-tone neutral sand sole) gem I bought it online from Teva (along with a more mundane XLT2 and a clearance-sale XLT). My first reaction when I tried it on was, huh? Why doesn't feel like the older shoes? The size is the same but the straps and soles are just a little too short! I walked around the house with them and decided I couldn't live with them, they didn't feel right. So I immediately requested online return slips for both this one and the other (the black-and-gray-and-white version). However -- these were really gorgeous shoes. Visually stunning shoes. So I put off sending them back for a few days, and then tried them on again -- wore them for more than an hour, just walking around the house. Guess what? I got used to them! I can't explain it. So I decided to keep them after all. THEN - a few days later - I did the same with the other XLT2 pair, and (no surprise) I got used to them also. I've been wearing them occasionally ever since then. I've been wondering if I need to inform TEVA that I won't be using the personalized return slips after all. Because I'm keeping them!

Unfortunately, this size 6 did not fit me comfortably. Some do and some do not. So I returned them and greatly appreciate the free shipping and free returns.

I have only owned one pair of Teva sandals in the past. I don't know what model I wore, but they were very comfortable and supportive. My puppy chewed my old sandals, so I ordered this pair online. I recommend trying on all footwear before buying, however. The Hurricane sandal is sturdy with good tread. They are heavier, wider, and less comfortable on the soles of my feet (due to texture) than my previous Teva sandals. So far, I have only worn these sandals inside our home. I will wear socks with these in Kenya this month, but I would like to wear these sandals without socks here in the U.S.A. I have confidence that these sandals will last through many outdoor adventures for years to come. I hope my feet get used to them when I wear them more.

I have worn these shoes now for 7 years. I bought some from Payless back in 2016. I loved them. I wore them almost every day of my life for every event. Beach, swimming, mud riding, jet skiing, boating, hiking, everyday wear, etc. I put them through the wringer. After 7 years, I had to get a new pair, ONLY because the VELCRO went bad. Let's go back to last year. June 2024 I bought another pair, same kind, for myself on my birthday. I don't do nearly as much water sport or activities as I used to, but from June 2024 to now I've had to buy another pair. After 3 months of owning them, the sole on BOTH shoes were separating. I glued them twice, only for it to keep coming undone. I now have one shoe that's soulless, and one that will be soon. Anyways, this July 2025 I just bought another pair. I love the shoe. Everything about it. The durability has obviously gone downhill, which is sad, because (again) these are the only shoes I wear.

I purchased these after much research and seeing at Miranda Goes Outside (YouTube) recommended these I definitely thought they would be good for me. I can't seem to get comfortable in them yet. I e had them for about a month now. I get blisters on my heels and the ankles are either too tight or just not comfortable. I am a nature-based preschool teacher and I absolutely cannot run after kids in these without twisting an ankle, but if I'm just sitting in the sand they are okay. I'm going to keep working with them but that's my feelings for now.

From the first moment that I tried these on, I realized that the sole was too stiff to be comfortable. I wanted to like these since I've been buying and wearing Tevas for decades.

These sandals looked too wide and seemed more appropriate for a man’s foot. The style was not attractive on my feet even though they were only purchased for walking the beach. Sent back and will try another style.

I really like the look and support of these sandals, however the ring near my small toe pinched so badly, I couldn't stand to wear them. Sadly, had to return

I'm replacing a 10-year old pair of Tevas and these aren't going to work for me. The heel strap sits super low on my heel, and it won't stay up no matter how tight I adjusted the strap. But when you make the heel strap too tight it pushes your foot forward so my toes were hanging off the sandal. I had to make all the straps extremely tight just to get my foot to stop sliding forward or the heel strap to fall down. That won't work for me because I will be going downhill in these and can't have my feet sliding forward everytime. The soles are too soft for my needs too. It feels like gel foam almost. I also think these may be the least attractive sandal I've ever tried. How they look would be irrelevant if they fit my foot but I just can't even wear them casually.

Just received my latest pair and was extremely disappointed to find you must be trying to save money by making the straps considerably thinner. Sad, because due to neuropathy, I wear Tevas all the time. Not nearly the support with these thin straps. Shame on you, Teva!

I have had these sandals for less than a year and have sung their praises high and low encouraging my husband and my father to purchase a pair. They are extremely comfortable and feel secure on my narrow feet. Despite taking them on one hike (where they were not my primary shoe) and casual wear in warm months: I noticed today that both soles are separating. I will try to glue them back together and would consider purchasing another pair because I love the comfort but if you're looking for a sandal that will last: these are not it. I see other reviewers have had this same issue: seems that the quality has gone down hill over the years which is a shame.

The arch strap on the top of the foot between each ankle is very uncomfortable because the material is ribbed and rough. It also has the shoe ID label on the underside adding to the roughness. I'm thinking of returning them but I need sandals for a trip. I'm disappointed.

I like to use them when I go to the river, the beach or walking around town. Very comfortable fit, guess the water unglued the bottom after a few uses. Took it to a shoeperson to get fixed and was an easy solve. But gets minus stars for coming undone.
