I do think these are a bit smaller than other shoes I've ordered in my size. They were a bit tight around the top of my foot and towards my toes but I've broken them in now and I wear them all the time! Good purchase!

They are made well, and have a variety of styles. I'm going to order in another color. very satisfied ;0

I bought these shoes especially for walking and running errands. I also have a lot of joint pain around my ankles and a friend of mine had mentioned New Balance over any company for comfortable shoes. I had purchased my shoes in a half size up based on all the other reviews. I wear them all the time and can't get enough, they are super comfortable and fit perfectly. Couldn't ask for more.

I would buy this again but I would buy a 1/2 size larger.

Tighter than I am used to, and requires lighter socks for now, but no pressure points on these old crooked feet, and able to walk extended distances on day one. I purchased a wide, might go with extra wide for a replacement shoe.

This shoe came up in a search for SL-2 which is the shoe shape that best fits my foot. Compared to newer Styles that come in SL-2 the 574 doesn't have as much room in the toe box. They are not returnable (vintage?) so I am keeping them. They work for me with very thin socks as long as I am not standing for hours on end. I do like the style, they feel light on my feet, less clunky than some.

These are my second pair of New Balance - my first pair a few weeks ago were the 840s. I knew when I bought the 574 that they'd be less of a walking shoe - less padding, etc. I do like these very much, just not as much as the 840s. These are a slimmer fit - probably could go up a half size and would be more comfortable. I don't have wide feet and I normally wear a 6.5 but I feel a little stuffed into this shoe. I really like the color and the old school feel of these, and I prefer a darker shoe color combination, which is why I strayed from the 840s (they only come in white, black and beige). These required no break in and I have worn them for several 8-hour work days. I can also walk a fair distance in them, and it isn't that they aren't comfortable, it's just that they aren't as comfortable as the 840s. I probably will buy these again because they come is so many good color combinations.

I agree with majority of the reviews. This shoe is comfortable. I ordered a half size up as suggested by some of the reviews and it worked out for me as I like extra room at the toe of my shoes. I also agree that if the tongue of the shoe is not positioned appropriately it can be uncomfortable at top of foot but once adjusted shoe is comfortable.

These shoes are very comfortable! The little bit of heel pushes my big toe into the front of the shoe. The width is very generous. I would go a half size up for the length.

I love the vibe of this sneaker. It's feels very now with it's middle aged Dad anti-fashion look. That's a big win. Compared to the other new Fresh Foam sneakers I ordered from NB, this shoe is just less comfortable overall. I find myself wanting to take it off after a couple of hours. I am prone to heel pain in most shoes and these exacerbate that issue but I love the look so much that I'm keeping the 574s. Similar in appearance to the 993, but a bit more classic and much cheaper. All in all a good luck that would be much improved with some comfort tweaks..

i always buy new balance shoes because I need a wide width and new balance always has a large selection in wide width. I do wish that more color choices would be offered in the wide width sizes, but at this time I was looking for an all light shoe and these fit the bill!

I bought these shoes because as a college student on a large campus, I do a lot of walking and my last couple pairs of shoes have worn through on the soles. These shoes seem much more durable. However, they're giving me blisters on the back of my ankles. I expect this to stop once they're worn in.

comfortable but runs at 1/2 size small, possible a full size small. I am a size 6 in every shoe and these seemed short. I returned for a 1/2 size bigger and they are comfortable.

I love the look of this sneaker for casual wear. I have been buying wide width to accommodate a bunion, but these are wide enough in the regular width. I found them to run 1/2 size short.

Super comfortable soles but did blister my heels on the first couple of wears.

I really like the color way. They're very comfortable and fit wide feet comfortably without having to order the wide version.
