Nice and lightweight. The cellphone pocket on the liner is amazing. I would like a little more elasticity in the wait instead of just relaying on the strings to keep them tight. They are also weirdly low riding. The distance from the waist to the inseem is very short unless you want to wear your shorts super low. If there was more length in the crotch area I would get multiple more pairs.

Comfy lightweight shorts but the pocket situation is horrendous. There are two small pockets on either side for keys but neither is elastic so if you have more than one key they will jangle with every step. The zip pocket in the rear is slightly larger and can hold credit cards but no modern phone can fit there. The spandex pocket on the leg doesn't fit my phone (pixel 3) without ripping some of the seams and there is no hole for a headphones wire to snake through so you can't listen to music with wired headphones. Overall a bizarre choice of pockets for an otherwise decent pair of running shorts.

Previous version of the Sherpa was more functional as noted by most other reviewers. I have 6 pair of the originals. The pockets in this model do not have the same capacity and openings. The inner leggings are smaller in this version, which is fine but different.

Shorts are very well made. However, they seem to sit low on the hips and the leg pocket/cell phone pocket is too small for most of today's cell phones. Overall a good pair of shorts, just really for running.

It's comfortable but it's big in the behind area. I keep having to pull it up in the back which is kind of annoying so doubtful I'd ever use it for long runs as I'd be worried about rubbing. Otherwise I like the compression in the thighs and the length is perfect. Also love the material.

Oddly low cut. I ordered these for my husband in his normal size M. He has a 33-34 inch waist. When he squats down his peach crack peeks out a good 1 to 1.5 inches. He's not very tall (5'9") so it's not like he has a mile long crack, and his bottom is not particularly large. I returned the mediums and ordered them in large thinking that they were just too small. The large size was still just as low cut and too large overall. He has several pairs of similar workout shorts from other companies, none of them are like this. I forgot to measure the inseam before returning them, but there is no way the measurements given are accurate.
If you have absolutely no peach and like your "junk" to almost poke out the front of your pants these could be the shorts for you...

They're ok, but I find the waist too short especially in the back. Plus the jewels not really staying in place. I'm a fan of Saxx underwear with the ball park pouch and they just came out with running shorts and I just tried themlike them better than Brooks.

The pockets made my think I'd purchased ladies trousers. I purchased these to carry my cell phone in the leg pocket. No chance. If you want to carry a credit card or ID, these may be just the thing. Your cell phone? Forget it.

Good shorts. They're comfortable and dry quickly. They are all you'd want from a pair of running shorts. Except that you're not paying for a basic pair of shorts. The phone "pocket" is worthless. It will not hold a modern 2020 iphone. There isn't enough space for more than a key fob and an ID in the zipper pocket, and no sort of gel fits well in the gel pockets.

A good pair of running shorts. They're comfortable and dry quickly. Except that you're not paying for a basic pair of shorts. The phone "pocket" is worthless and won't hold a modern iPhone securely. The zipper pocket will only hold a key fob and one ID, and the gel pockets won't hold any kind of gel in an accesible way. They're decent shorts, but could be greatly improved.

Shorts ran a little bigger than expected. Also disappointed my ipod didn't fit in the inside pocket.

The side pockets are barely big enough for a small set of keys and you really have to tighten the drawstring to keep them from falling off but having the phone in the back pocket is convenient. Can't see myself using these shorts for a marathon as I wouldn't have any space for gels but overall they are good for half marathons and shorter and training runs that don't require nutrition.

I like a lot let big enough for my hand. Also, fit of liner made me show crack if I bent over.

These shorts are well made but if you have any muscle in your legs or glutes they have an odd fit. The liner on the inside is too small and the side pockets have such restrictive openings that you can fit a key in and that is about it. I love Brooks shoes and their tops but their running shorts always seem to have some kind of quirky things. Every few years I buy a pair and remember why I don't shorts from them all the time.

I have 3 pairs of the previous model of the Sherpa. The reasons I liked that model are mostly removed from this model. When running over 6 miles, I chafe on the cell phone pocket - once to bleeding point. Previous liner material was higher quality - even with the older model shorts that i still use, the inner lining hasn't loosened or worn through for me to chafe with those. Additionally, the hip pockets have gotten smaller, and the little flap on the top makes using them very awkward. I can barely cram a thin running glove into the side pockets now, where in the previous model I could put a headlamp, until it actually got dark out for my late afternoon runs.
Will not be buying more this model of Sherpa until it goes back to features of previous model. It's pretty disappointing when rifling through my shorts for a run, I subconsciously look for the old Sherpa model over the new one.

I bought an XL, which is the typical size for me. The waist fits fine as I vary between a 38-40 inch waist. However, the rise on this short does not fit me and I am pretty proportional sized person. I've never had this problem with a running short before, the back sits way too low and the front crotch area is overly tight. I definitely do not recommend considering this running short was 2x the price of better shorts I have bought. Unfortunately, I can not return because I bought them on a roadtrip and the store is much too far away to bother with it.

it is larger than expected. Also doesn’t have any pockets and are much longer than I expected. Overall I do not like these shorts and don’t really wear them very often.

These are just ok shorts. I got the medium size and the waistband is a little too loose. I'm a 31 waist. I have to tie them very tight for a comfortable fit. I would prefer some front pockets, but not the end of the world. The brief inner liner is not that comfortable and feels more like a swimsuit mesh liner. I was expecting more of a compression liner feel. back pocket is fine for keeping id, credit card, key, but not a phone. My iPhone 11 regular size with a case fits in ok to the liner pocket, but doesn't feel that secure. I will only use these for treadmill runs and would not recommend.

Pretty small and I got my usual running short size. The phone pocket is also incredibly tiny. Maybe made for ID or credit card? But seems silly.

The pockets are pretty useless, ( However, I don't typically carry any thing with me in my shorts when I run, so not an issue for me.)
Also as stated by others, they have a weird fit. They ride very low in the back. If I don't tie them very snuggly they feel as if they will slide down in the back.
I kept them because it was more trouble to return them and I make them work. I would definitely not buy this style again.

I was hoping for a 2-in-1 short where the under layer is a compression short. This was not the case. The inner short on the Sherpa is like the liner on swim trunks. I returned them.

Strange fit. I bought a pair of these shorts last year, and they are my favorite running shorts. Unfortunately, this pair rides low in the back almost like the brief is sewn into the shorts backwards? I found myself having to pull up on the back waste band during my run. Regrettably, I am returning.

Strange fit. Both this and the racing tank I bought were loose in the back, but rode high in the front. Not sure I would suggest this.
