These are my go to running shorts for my long run days (2-3 hours) Comfortable and I like the inside compression but not too tight. I could go for more pockets for gels, but that's just me. The 7" inseam is perfect as well, too long and it annoys me and too short (5" and under) and it's not comfortable.

Love these shorts. Only request is one more pocket, but overall no complaints. The back pocket and the leg-tight pocket are excellent for carrying my phone and keys when I go running.

Great shorts except I would like more pocket room.

Only one problem. The small pockets on each hip are a good size for a gel pack but the pocket flap makes access on the run unnecessarily difficult. Several years ago this model came without the flap over the pockets and I'd suggest a return to that design.

I like these shorts, but wouldn't use the pocket for the smartphone while running. The pocket doesn't really keep the phone in place while running.

Comfy, but I wish they came up a little higher on the waist. Overall a good fit and I would order again.

These are good shorts. I am always between a M and L, depending on the brand. I ordered L and should've gone with M. These just run a little larger than other brands in my opinion. But again, they're still good shorts and I run in them regularly.

These shorts have been my goto shorts fjr at least the past 4 years. My only pet peeve is when the lip was added a couple years ago over the two side pockets which makes it difficult to grab a gel or chapstick or anything else as a matter of fact. So I just cut the lip off. Otherwise these are my fave shorts. I have a total of 6 pairs. The fit is just right and used these during my 50 mile Avalon run and no chafing.

Like the "sherpa" shorts. One small addition would be larger side pockets that you could put things in
like a handkerchief for wiping off sweat.

Nice and light. Good fit just above the hips. I wish the inner shorts were more like compression shorts rather than boxer briefs.

Always was wondering whether I will be comfortable wearing a shorts with liner..This one made my questions disappear...Very comfortable..One star less just because they could have had an normal pocket.

They are very comfortable and are a quite light weight. The side pockets could be a little larger; they could accommodate gels or some small items but cannot hold anything larger. I love the options of carrying my phone either in the pocket the liner or the zippered pouch at the back. Again, there is a bit of a size issue with the back pouch; my iPhone X will fit but I don't think any of the larger devices will.

Very good shorts but sizing seems a bit off from the size chart on website. I am a 31 waist which would be a small based on size chart but that was too tight for me so had to return and get a medium

They feel so light and breathe really well. The back pocket is great for my apartment key or dog bags. The only issue I had was that the side pockets were too secure. It was difficult for me to get anything out of them. Other than that I really like them.

Good quality and very light weight. I really like the material of both the outer shorts and the inner shorts. My only complaint is what I have see in other reviews. The inner short is too small for the outer short making it difficult to pull them up as high as I'd like. The best way I can describe this is like the outer shorts are a mid rise and the inner shorts are low rise. It's not a deal breaker, and I can still run in them, but this being corrected would make them more comfortable. I can do about 6 miles and then the restriction of the inner shorts starts to get to me. Still a good product.

Fantastic running shorts! Would have gave 5 stars but for some weird there is a gap between sizes. Med slightly too tight around the backside area and Lg way too big. Almonst like the skipped an inch between. Otherwise great and the cell phone pocket on the hip is amazing. Thought the phone would flop around and slip but it does not move. Can't even tell it is there.

While these shorts are not perfect, they are my go-to option for comfort on runs or race day.
Pros:
- Overall, I just find these shorts more comfortable than any other pair I own. I chose them for a recent half marathon race kit and they were great for the entire distance.
-These shorts are very lightweight, and the liner in particular feels very light, which lets them move easily and not overheat.
-The back zippered pocket is secure and large enough to fit a smartphone (granted, you may need to take the case off), gels, or ID/credit card
Cons:
-The side pockets are essentially worthless while running due to the design of the top flap. I had wedged a GU into one of these pockets for my first long run in the shorts and essentially had to stop when taking the packet out and putting the empty packet back in. In my view, fixing this issue would put these shorts at 5 stars
In-betweens:
- The phone pocket built into the liner is not going to hold your phone while you run. It's just not. But the inclusion of the back pocket makes this a non-issue for me, and I have found that the phone pocket in the liner can be useful when running an errand pre or post-run, so I have found a use case for it, even if its not necessarily as advertised

Size was spot one for me in a large, material was very good. Did a 10 mile race with zero chafing or issues. Pocket looks small in the back, but can hold an iPhone 8. Front pockets are Gu packet sized.
Note- the phone does seem to bounce a bit in the rear pocket. Its a bit distracting, but does not effect performance.

I really like the shorts however I purchased them for my husband cause they had the pocket on the inside shorts for a phone however it is too short for a phone and it will fall out.

I am a 31-32 and the medium is a good fit.
The pockets are frustration level 11. too small to use easily.

I like the shorts, they are very comfortable. My issues with them are:
1. Don't really run 'true to size'
2. Phone pocket is not real deep or wide
I bought xl shorts as my waist is 38/40 and they say 36-40, but I can tie them tight but they slide off.
My phone is an I phone 10 and it barely fits and sticks up about 2/3 out of the pocket. I have yet to lose my phone, but it just doesn't feel secure.

Seemed like good quality constructions but sat to low on my hips and felt like they were falling down when I ran.

For reference purposes, I'm 5'8", 156 lbs, athletic build. I just received my Sherpa 7" 2-in-1 shorts yesterday and I must say, the previous comments about fit and functionality are spot on. The inner lining is too small and not deep enough which results in the low rise fit. I have a small, flat butt and they feel very low riding in the back and that they might slip down during a run. Especially if you have any weight in the pockets. If I were to guess, I'd guess that they have a single style of liner for both men and women and it doesn't work for men. Then the pockets are all too small. The 2 side pockets will hold a single gel pack, a key or two, not a set, a credit card, or paper or coin money. That's it. And the flap tightens the opening and makes it difficult to insert and retrieve items from these pockets. Probably a good thing if it's used to keep things secure. The back middle zipper pocket is bigger than the two side pockets but it too is too small for much more than a couple keys, a couple gel packs, money/credit card. An average cell phone will not fit. Then there's the pocket on the right leg liner. Again, too small for a phone. The phone fits widthwise but it's not deep enough to hold the entire phone. A third of the phone sticks out the top of the pocket. I have an iPhone 8. And lastly there is the draw ribbon. I would not call it a draw cord because it's much too thin. And it doesn't work well. It doesn't tighten fully which adds to the feeling they would slip down and I'm afraid to pull on it too hard for fear it may break. These shorts have a fantastic style/design. They really look sharp. Unfortunately, they have far too many issues that could have been easily corrected during the design process that would have made these fantastic running shorts. Hopefully these issues will be addressed in the future (larger pockets and liner) because I love the look. They just don't feel and function quite right.

Nice shorts but I think I got the wrong size. I'm normally a medium but these seem tight.
Maybe they'll loosen up after a wash or two?

Have been buying these for years. Best running shorts on the market. The only knock is the redesigned side pockets. Please go back to the mesh/elastic side pockets! The previous version was perfect - 5 stars.
