I only wear Hoka shoes. I loved the Clifton, which were discontinued. The Mach seemed like a good alternative. I wore my Mach shoes ONCE for a track workout (7 miles total including warm up and cool down) and the soles look like I had been wearing them for months. (The soles are black in the picture because the track is black. The original color of the soles are blue.) There was 1/4 inch of wear in places after my first run in them. I’m relatively light and have never seen wear like this on a new shoe. The soles are made of cushy material, and it doesn’t have more durable plastic covering them (as do most shoes). I returned these shoes at got the Cavu instead and they are holding up much better.

I ended up returning these shoes because they just weren't what I was looking for. After a nasty bout of plantar fasciitis, I have been a daily Hoka Clifton wearer for the past 4-5 years, but with some recent negative reviews of changes in that style, and after reading a magazine rave about the Mach, decided to give this one a try. These are featherweight shoes that are nicely designed with a sturdy-feeling sole, but side-by-side with my most recent Cliftons (a brand new pair I had in reserve) really lacked cushioning in comparison, especially on the forefoot, which made my foot-strike tend toward the heel; I prefer a mid-to-forefoot strike because of my past foot issues. I have older knees and joints and am looking for a cushier shoe for short runs and long pavement walks, and this isn't it - it's the first pair of Hokas I've tried that felt this firm (if you are coming from another brand, it might still feel relatively cushy, I suppose.) Also compared to the Cliftons, the toebox is narrower and slightly shorter, so while I'd still say it runs true to size, it didn't have the generous toe room I like. Finally, I wish these came in some less insane colors, but that's not the reason for my return. I'm going to have to go back to the Clifton or another model.

The size and fit of the Mach is spot on. My history with Hoka shows that ordering a size larger than my regular shoe size is perfect for me. Personslly, the Mach is my favorite. In resent years, I have had surgery for Morton’s nueroma. This style provides a roomy toe box.

NICE LGHT SHOE WITH A LOT OF CUSHION . TO BAD IT BOTHERS ME RIGHT ON MY RIGHT FOOT ARCH , I SATRT RUNNING WITH THEM AND HAD TO RETURN HOME , COULD NOT FINISH MY WOK OUT . I GOT A BIG BLISTER AROUND MY ARCH. I THINK IS BECAUSE IT HAS TO MUCH ARCH SUPPORT.

I really like these Hokas. I already own one pair and this was to be a second pair for when the first pair wore out. I am returning them but not because they aren't great. The only reason I am returning them is I found that the ASICS GT 2000 solved my foot and ankle pain so I am sticking with those for working out. The Hokas are very padded, very comfortable and look great. I will still wear them for things other than running or working out. I have never had foot or ankle problems until a recent increase in mileage and then I really started to have problems. I was wearing good, supportive shoes (Brooks Addiction 13) so I didn't really think my problem was the shoes. But, I switched it up to my Hokas for a few days and although they were better, I was still having problems and pain. Then, I remembered that I had an unworn, brand new pair of the ASICS GT 2000 in my closet. Those had been recommended to me years ago by a professional running shoe fitter and that is all I used to run in with no problems. Then, I stopped running for a while and when I started walking/running again, I had switched to other shoes for no real good reason other than I liked them. So, I started wearing the ASICS again and within a week, I found my pain to be MUCH improved and I was able to run virtually pain free yesterday. If the pain comes back, I will consider custom orthotics but it seems like the ASICS will solve my problem. Everyone's foot and gait is different, so for me, the ASICS solved my problem but its not to say that for someone else's foot/gait that the Hokas or Brooks wouldn't solve their problem - all of them are good, padded and supportive shoes. It just depends on your particular foot and gait.

This my first purchase of a Hoka shoe though I've heard others speak highly of the shoe for years. The toe box is roomy, they are light as a feather but provide great support to my feet. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I bought the wrong size but I threw away the box so I couldn't send it back. I would love to try a smaller size but I just can't afford to buy another pair at the moment. I wish there was a way for me to exchange them for a smaller size.

These Machs are my first pair of Hoka shoes. I am a 34 year old PE teacher who is on her feet all day and rotates between different 3 pairs of shoes to avoid the wear and tear. I am impressed with the level of support these provide given I have heel pain and flat feet. These shoes are light and good for an 8 hr day at work whether I'm standing, running, or walking. I have taken them to my cross fit class but are rather slippery, but I think it's because I have worn them out (Purchased in November 2018). Also, I go to Disneyland often and they are super comfortable for walking. I will definitely be buying my 2nd pair of Hoka's soon and am eager to try other styles.

Thank you once again for another wonderful shoe. I work on my feet all day on a concert floor, with your shoes, my feet and back never hurt. This will be my third pair of Hokas! I absolutely love your shoes and will continue to purchase more in the near future. Thank you Hoka!

So much ventilation! I switched from Clifton (needed a stiffer shoe, wider toe box, more durability) and couldn't be happier. First off as a summer shoe - amazing! Even with normal socks my feet felt cool. The toe box reminds of the good ol' days of the Clifton. And so far the shoe seems sturdy and I shouldn't have to buy 3 or 4 pairs a year due to my mileage (around 1,000+).
Never going back to the Clifton at this rate!
