Based on the reviews I decided to add a half size to my order. I have been running in 10-1/2 Asics for years but have noticed they seem smaller than before. This time I ordered a size 11 but stuck with the medium width, not wanting to change too much at once. Upping the size by 1/2 seemed a good decision after one run. The shoes still seem a bit tight in the toe box but I am afraid to go with a wider shoe. Overall happy with my choice of size 11. Recognize I wear size 9-1/2 in normal shoes so Asics is really exaggerating their sizing. I also agree with some of the comments that the shoe doesnt feel quite as cushy as they did in the past. Perhaps nothing is what it used to be.

I bought the Gel Nimbus 19 in my normal size 11.5 & 4E since people said they felt narrow and tight. I can wear them but definitely can't run in them. They are snug, but the extra width helped me at least use them for basic life.
I just bought the Gel Nimbus 20 also 11.5 & 4E.. they are not snug of narrow. They fit more true to what people remember Asics for. But I too am a long time Asics buyer , around 2015 they changes materials, and I feel all the shoes after are a bit cheaper built. So probably best used for running or walking, but not everyday basic life. Like not for working or through snow like I always used them for. They breath more so they let water in and get colder.
Gel Nimbus 20 is good for $99.
I'm waiting for GT -2000 7 since the 6 has that issue with ripping. My Favorite was the Gt 2000-2 & 3, the 4 became narrow and snug and the 5 was built cheaper, the 6s have that issue.

This is a great shoe for wide foot. I've tried almost all of them. Adequate cushion making things easier on the knees. I've had this shoe going back five or six model. Unfortunately there is never more than one color alternative - the 19 was gray, now the 20 is black. I get they probably do limited runs but it was be nice for us wide feet people to get something less drab every now and then. Functionally a great shoe - just boring appearance.

I've worn gel Nimbus for many years. The last couple of versions run a half size small and aren't quite as soft from a cushioning perspective as older models. That said, ordering up a half size works and the shoes still are reasonably cushioned.

This has been my go to running shoe for 8 generations now. When the Nimbus 16 or 17 came out I had to move up a half size. This version (20), has me moving back a half size. Not a big deal unless of course you bought through the mail and now have to return them for smaller size.

Great shoes - soft, plush, smooth. Great for long runs!
Was disappointed that I bought these and then price was reduced by $60 3 days later...

Had to return the first pair because it was to small. Ordered 1/2 size larger. Toe box is smaller as before. But still the best cushioning shoe available.

Seems to be a good replacement for my nimbus 12’s. It’s been that long since I’ve gotten a new pair of Asics Nimbus.

While I really like the ASICS GEl-Nimbus shoe line, their shoe sizes are goofy. Every other show I have purchased in the past 10 years has been a size 10 or 10-wide. At the same time I purchased these ASICS, I also purchased a pair of shoes from Vasque. Both fit well. The ASICS are size 11 and the Vasques are 10-wide. If you are ordering ASICs, order a full size larger than any other shoe you own to get a good fit.

I bought these a couple weeks ago to use for Volleyball and Basketball season. The comfort was noticeable immediately and feels great to walk/run in.

I was wearing fortitude series 4E from 2009 to 2018, almost 99% of the time, except for job interviews. It was a great shoe but Asics stopped producing that line to my big disappointment and frustration.
I tried many different asics shoes but nothing compared to fortitude, it was just super comfortable, I used fortitude more as daily shoes rather than for exercise. I spend long hours standing and my feet is sensitive and over heats and other shoes gives me unbearable feeling that my feet is on fire and hurts.
So back to nimbus. Asics only have few 4E shes that I can choose from and nimbus seemed to be the best replacement for fortitude.
It's not as good as fortitude but still ok, I can wear it for prolonged periods without my feet burning, overheating and hurting but probably not as comfortable as fortitude.
Limited color option on 4E is a minus.
Expensive!
I not sure if I will try another company shoes or continue with nimbus for the coming years.

I like the comfort and feel, but as I wire double wide size 13 shoes, the color is always a downfall. With my odd foot size, it's hard to find shoes that I want in a color that I like. Besides that, the shoe is comfortable, and fits well.
I'd also recommend:

I had to finally write a review of the Gel-Nimbus 20 after buying them from Zappos earlier this year. They replaced my worn out Gel-Nimbus 18s. I used to love the gel-nimbus line and thought they were the best shoes available. I've been buying them since the model 12 or so after trying the gel-kayano and not liking it due to lack of padding/comfort. My feet are 10 1/2 so I buy these in size 11. For running shoes so that you don't get blisters on your toes, you buy a full size bigger so for me that's 11 1/2. No matter what I do with these, I have to keep the laces really loose, otherwise the shoe feels tight, I don't like that. At $150/pair for sneakers these should feel like walking on clouds - LIKE THEY USED TO! I always told people that these were the most comfortably shoes I'd ever worn. At least they still look awesome. Btw, all the synthetic material covering these shoes really make my feet sweat even though so much of the shoe is mesh. I don't get it, I even wear Adidas superlite socks. Hey Asics, I'm not wearing these things to keep my feet warm. Oh well... like I said, at least they look good.

Great show for high arch, high impact feet. I've worn the previous models for years and the only problem is the inside wears out faster than the tread. I end up with holes worn through where my big toe rubs. The rubber coating at the toe box needs to be improved.

I bought these as I have a simular pair for the gym. I paid extra and went the distance thinking they would have even more cushion.
They are comfortable to a point but not worth the extra price. If looking to buy, I'd suggest to save your money and get the GEL-NEO33 Asics.
Shipment was right on time.

I bought these a couple weeks ago. Fit is perfect and comfort is great. Only dissappointment is they have whay aopears to be a dark purple gel heel. The color said black/carbon which to me would have been solid black with some grey trim...which it does, but the gel heel looks purple in the light. I noticed some of the black ones in the stores also have a purple hue. Not sure if this was on purpose or it is the materials/dye lot.

After the fit fiasco that was the Nimbus 19, I bought as many Gel Nimbus 18 pairs on sale as I could afford. So when the Nimbus 20 was billed as having an "improved fit," I was very curious to see how Asics had changed things for the better.
The good:
1. The 20s fit MUCH better than the 19s. The toe box seems wider, and from what I understand, the design has been modified such that the forefoot isn't jammed into the front of the shoe.
2. The durability of the 20s seems to be much improved over the 19s. I currently have 6 miles shy of the 300 mark on my Nimbus 20s, and they still seem pretty solid. Contrast that to 185 miles on my pair of 19s before I retired them.
The bad (or, the "just not so good"):
1. No way around it: FlyteFoam is HARD. It seems cushy when walking around, but I really felt it after my first run. The good news is that after about 30-40 miles, the foam begins to soften a bit.
2. My left heel slipped quite a bit during the first 100 miles of wear of the shoe, after which time the slippage stopped. My left foot is somewhat smaller than my right, so this could just be me.
3. The fit is still somewhat tight compared to the Nimbus 17 and 18. The outside of my left foot is sore after a run due to tightness. Strangely, my right foot is fine after running.
What I'd like to see:
1. A little bit more room, similar in fit to the 17 and 19 would be welcome.
2. Soften the Flytfoam a bit. Personally, I would like to see a return to the Nimbus 17 consistency. Even though the 17's foam was VERY cushy, I was able to get over 400 miles on them before retiring them.
All in all, the 20 is a "step" in the right direction back from the 19.
