Have bought Asics gel-nimbus for the roomy toe box and cushy ride in the past. The last decent gel-nimbus was the 17. I just bought 4 pairs of Asics gel-nimbus 17 that I found out there after much searching online, just because I'm so frustrated with these shoe companies shrinking shoes. If they are saving money by making the shoes narrower, shorter and removing the cushioning that makes it a great shoe, then they are kidding themselves. Because they're losing loyal customers in doing so. This 20 (just like the 18 & 19) is too short, too narrow, and has a hard ride. Disappointing. This isn't the only shoe company to do this, they are all doing it. Then on top of ruining a great shoe, they keep increasing the price. Asics, do you really think the average Americans feet are getting smaller? Do you really think we don't notice that you are changing the cushion? Will keep searching for a company that listens, if any are out there. For now, I'll enjoy my 4 new pairs of gel-nimbus 17's and won't have to worry about it for a few years.

This model of the Nimbus still has a narrow toe box, much too narrow for me. The Nimbus 16 was great. ASICS narrowed the toe box with the Nimbus 17, and it is still narrow with the Nimbus 20. Why do they do that?

ASICS gave up its quality and reputation in exchange for improved margins on its Gel Nimbus running shoes.
I wear a size 16 D and have ran in gel Nimbus for the past 5-7 years and loved the shoe putting up to 350 miles on pair of shoes. The last three pairs I have purchased are no where similar in size which I had unfortunatly had to return to Zappos. I guess this is what happens when ASICs change suppliers in Asia while chasing the lowest price to manufacture. I would love to have another pair that actually fits. The last few pairs I purchased were too narrow and short in size. I went to a EE width and the shoe was still too narrow. All of the other shoes I purchase in 16 D still fit perfectly. It's a shame to see how ASICS is destroying its brand one dissatisfied customer at time.
I'd also recommend:
still looking for shoe that fit well and meets the quality of the former ASIC Gel Nimbus.

Asics has royally screwed up their shoe design. Their precious design featured a wider toe box, which for me was the perfect running shoe. I'm prone to ingrown toenails when wearing narrower shoes. This newer Asics design is way too narrow and does not meet the standards of previous designs. Even with a double E width, it's still very narrow and the newer design is not nearly as comfortable. Why they would regress to a lesser design is beyond me. I'm very disappointed that Asics product management has allowed this to happen. I won't be buying more Asics unless they move back to their previous design pattern.

I am 58. Experienced runner. Go thru 6 pairs/year. Medium arch height. Medium to slightly narrow width.
Asics lost me with the 19 when the sizing changed. I can't honestly say it was for any other reason than the mental block of going from a 12.5 to a 13, but I figured I would take it as an opportunity to try other things.
One year later and I am back to the Asics 20. As it turned out, my Brooks shoe of choice did the same thing with sizing so I got used to the idea in general. When I ran in the Asics again, it was like being home. It is the perfect amount of cushioning and stability for me from toe to heel.

The last gel-nimbus that I loved was the gel nimbus 17's....lots of cushioning, true to size. Every gel-nimbus since has been shorter, narrower, lousy cushioning. Someone explain this to me as it occurs with almost all of the shoes from Asia. (China, Vietnam) Do the people making the shoes over there think that Americans are getter smaller and shrinking? WHY do they continue to make shorter, narrower shoes? Loved the gel nimbus 17's, Asics ruined them now. Disappointing. The #17 I wore size 11 1/2 D. Wonderful fit. The gel-nimbus 20's I ordered an 11 1/2 D and 11 1/2 EE. Forget the 11 1/2 D, super narrow. Even the 11 1/2 EE is narrow and too short. Not to mention a non-existent cushion. Sad.

Purchased for my husband who runs on the treadmill. He tried them out a few times already, and said how much better they are at supporting his feet when he runs.

Love the style of these but run small so returning them for whole size larger. I normally wear a size 7 medium width, but with workout shoes I usually order a half size larger to get comfortable fit. ( I have a narrow foot and small ankles.) ordered these in 7 1/2 medium width and they feel like size 6 - snug all around. Gonna try ordering an 8. So if you like these, I recommend going at least a whole size larger than you normally order.

Apparently these shoes are like New Balance, you need to order a half size larger. I wish they had put that in the description. This is my first order from Zappos and I am not pleased.

Just received the shoes, appears used with dirt and sand in the soles. The tread appears to be about 10-15 miles of use. Very disappointing.

I haven't run in them yet, but they are super comfortable right out of the box. Fit is as expected. I've been a die-hard gel nimbus wearer since my first pair of 13's. They improved my running performance and comfort from that day on. I'll never change brands.

I bought one pair for my husband, because his knees are not good and these shoes are pretty soft. He is very happy with them and keeps wearing for days.

Solid, well built and comfortable shoe. I switched to this from a sketchers brand that gave me all sorts of problems.

Being a big guy, it's really hard for me to find footwear that is both comfortable and supporting. I am 6'5" 315lbs and wear a 15 4E, I'm also a teacher so I'm on my feet all day long and it is important to have a shoe that checks all the boxes. I've worn the Gel-Nimbus 20's for over a year now and just bought my second pair. They are the best pair of shoes I've ever owned. I will continue to purchase this shoe as long as I can. Thank you ASICS for helping me get through my day with comfort.

Okay so I'm normally skeptical about buying expensive shoes. But these shoes are worth every penny. Not trying to sell them but your share my experience. I get more than 6 months to almost a year of running out of the shoes. Which for me, is a good bang for the buck. Also, I had shin splints. When I would run I could barely get one lap around the track. And I was on my way to becoming a police officer. I was so frustrated and someone suggested that I spend the extra money and buy a real pair of running shoes and it would help? After buying these I am happy to say I passed my run and it changed my life. I quit experiencing the knee pain and back pain that I was having as well. Just can't say enough about these shoes. I literally bought two pairs of them. I like them with the black and a little bit of white. Can't really do the Wild colors. I wear them everyday and I have a second. Just for running.

Superior flexibility and comfort. I am buying all that I can find because 21 sucks. it does not have the same materials and comfort as 20.

I was having another bought of knee pain. I originally tried the Gel-Nimbus 20, but the store did not have my size--I had to size up a full size for this shoe--so I bought a shoe of another brand. My knee pain increased. I returned to the store and they now had the size that fit me. After a month of running in them, my knee pain went away. This recent purchase is my second pair of Gel-Nimbus 20.
