Mesh is nice. 11.5 length is fine. "B" Width is slightly too narrow creating foot pain over time. Support is excellent. Amount of cushioning is excellent. NB exceeds every other shoe I have tried except in shoe width.

This is my 3 pair of these shoes. I love the roomy rounded toe. but still fits in the heel.

This pair is definitely more comfortable than the revised 1540v3, but it doesn't provide as much long term support when standing all day.

THESE DID NOT WORK FOR ME AS I HAVE CUSTOM ORTHOTICS AND THEY WERE A BIT NARROW BUT WIDE WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO WIDE. ALSO I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM OTHERS HAVE TALKED ABOUT WITH THE TONGUE GOING TO THE SIDE AND NOT STAYING IN THE CENTER.

These fit my double wide foot wonderfully - but though they say they are neutral, they were putting pressure on my knee as if they were trying to correct pronation. I tried two version of the 840 and felt the same thing. Didn't really feel neutral to me.

Me: measure 10.5 AA, usually wear 11med in closed toed shoes, high arches, straight foot, neutral or underpronate. Tried: 11 med. and 12 narrow. Although narrow was fine and felt more supportive, the threshold of the plastic toe bumper irritated my big toe on the narrow, but was OK on the medium. Positives: nice heel rise, nice cushioning, nice support (at arch and ankle.) Standing and walking felt good. The deal-breaking issue: the heel of sole. If I put the shoe on a desk, I can fit a finger under the outer edge of heel. While unbelievably, this is not noticed when standing or walking, when I tested them on a treadmill, at jogging speed, where the heel strike would be more prevalent, my feet predictably dramatically rolled outward. These shoes have a SL-2 last (straight last, roomier toe box, narrow heel, higher instep.) I like the shoe and the last, but have to find a different model, because that uneven heel is ridiculous. If I tend to wear shoes out on that outer edge of my heels, until they become too uncomfortable to wear anymore, why would I want to start out with an extreme form of "shoe wear"?! Would have given 5 stars (and kept) if not for the uneven heel.

Nice shoe and had high hopes it would work for me. Too tight across the top and just not comfortable because of that. Quality looks good and have had 860 and was happy with that shoe. Was hoping these could be my new favorites. They went back.

I loved the looks of the shoe and am sure it would of felt good if I didn't have to wear an orthotic. The bed was not deep enough to support mine. Had to return.

Love the comfort of these shoes, not crazy about the look of them though. I wish the soul wasn't wider than the shoe, makes the shoe look bulky. Very glad they are offered in grey with grey laces....now when will New Balance start making the sides of the soles grey so that they don't look so dirty all the time? Also, really wish that these were offered in a Gortex version so that they would be water resistant when walking in wet grass or in the rain.

The narrow size is equivalent to a medium in my other athletic shoes and boots. I guess New Balance runs wide, so their idea of "narrow" is actually normal. I need an actual narrow boot, so they're going back.

My order was confirmed for New Balance 840 women's 8D. However I was sent men's trailrunner 440s in 8EEEE. However they fit fine, so I'm running in them.

These running shoes are so comfortable. The style works for not just runners, but everyone who needs support and comfort.

I wear 12 N and have high arches, so my choices are slim. This shoe is ok, the holes on its body seemed a bit large. I am not a runner and this is a running shoe. I felt it rubbed a little on the outside of my ankle and was wary about keeping them.

I normally order a 10 1/2 because I always use a custom insert but these were a little bigger than normal. I will try the 10 because I really liked them.

Although a little clunky, these were great shoes for about 3 months. Then the sticky-out part of the sole started to peel off. I love New Balance and this was disappointing, especially at the price of these sneakers.

Bought wide size and fit was excellent. Teenage daughter has flat feet and these have been the best tennis shoes she’s worn. They help her maintain her balance.

I have full orthotics and these shoes actually feel slightly big but keeping them because I have bunions on both feet and am afraid smaller and narrower would pinch my feet. In the past I always wore 12EE women or 11EE mens in NB.

I wear 8.5W in most New Balance athletic shoes. the length and width seem accurate, toe box very roomy. My only issue with the shoe is the height of the shoe surrounding my ankle, it is high and rubs on my ankle bones. My heels apparently sit to low in the shoes. Otherwise this is a very supportive shoe and quite duty. The insole is nice and cushy under the heel, forefoot and toes, arch is great. Not a fashion statement style but a good sturdy shoe. I am returning due to the shoe rubbing on my ankle bones. My husband has the same shoes and he totally loves his.

This SL-2 last with generous toe box and snug heel is a perfect fit for me. The color is neutral but keenly stylish. I use these as walkers. As a running shoe these are light on weight and support. I find I have to reorder after 4-6 months just as recommended. guess you can't have it all.

I love these shoes, they run a tad large but I love how light they are. I use orthotics and they still run large. The colors are not too out there and they are comfortable

Having long narrow feet, has been a problem forever. I was thrilled to see that you carried 11 1/2 N shoes. You are making it so much easier to get out and do what I need to do.

New Balance is an excellent brand for my large feet! They are supportive and feel comfortable.
I walk six miles a day and these do not leave my feet feeling tired at the end.

I've gone through four pairs of New Balance WR1260 V6 (size 10 wide), and was crushed when the 1260 went into V7 and lost a ton of toebox space. I could go for miles in the V6 right out of the box, barefoot, without so much as a hot spot, but within 5 minutes in my living room, the V7 was killing my toes. So I ordered a bunch of different models from my trusty friends at Zappos, and found that the 840 V4 is a really good alternative to the 1260 V6 -- plenty of toe room, good arch, no toe-chewing seam placements. The 840 feels less sturdy structurally than the 1260, but time will tell how it holds up. Thanks, Zappos, for the try-ons.
