My feet are very long and extremely narrow and, therefore, nearly impossible to fit. I took a chance ordering a "narrow", when I actually wear a "super slim". Glad I did. With my orthotics, some heavy socks and proper lacing, my New Balance shoes fit comfortably. And they look great, too.

I have a bunion on one foot and these worked out really well - best sneakers for me to date! I also have a fairly narrow heel and these have enough padding around the heal that they don't slip. I think I'll be able to walk all day without blisters or bunion pain.

The shoes are comfortable right from the box. No break in needed. The grey and light raspberry are a nice combination of colors. I wear a 8.5 wide and they fit perfectly.

Great fit-I need a narrow width-with lots of soft support too. Wanted a pair of the new 860s, but didn't care for the new style of heel (really high on the Achilles area). No regrets on ordering these though!

Really love online ordering. Having problems with my left foot and opting out of surgery New Balance gives me the choice to wear stylish and comfortable shoes. Love the warranty as a lot of other shoe companies do not carry a good warranty on thier products. Thank you NB.

The women's 840v4 is listed as a running shoe, but they're also a great walking shoe. Doesn't matter the miles or the hills, they work wonderfully. I've been buying the model 840 since version 1 and hope New Balance will keep making them long into the future.

I was looking for shoes I could bop around in, not necessarily for running since I don't run much anymore, and I knew I'd be spending many hours in them. Dog-walking, running errands, hiking. I bought a pair of NB 840v4 a year ago because they had every feature I needed: a generous toe box, arch support, stability. And my custom orthotics fit inside nicely. I also appreciated the little things...like laces that tie and stay tied (and are the perfect length). Sounds silly, but that's not always the case with running shoes. So, one year later, my first pair are still in decent shape, and I wanted to make sure I had another on hand should they become difficult to find. So, now I have two pairs of 840v4 running shoes, and I may well buy a third!

Love this shoe from New Balance. My foot runs narrow, but with bunions and various foot injuries, it is hard for me to wear a narrow sized shoe anymore. Since it laces, I can get by with this. What I specifically like about this specific shoe is: the toe box is wider than most shoes. Not so wide as to look like an orthopedic shoe, but wide enough to not cramp my toes. I also like the mesh on the sides of the shoe. It provides some extra stretch or give for my bunions. I also like that there is some rubber at the toe. I have put holes in other shoes since I have a tendency to flex my toes. I did not say anything about the arch support, because I use an orthotic to provide arch support. Having said that, the insole is removable to accommodate that. I have had several pairs of this model, and I really like this particular shoe.

I have arthritis in my big toe and need a wider toe box to avoid pain. I wore these shoes all day at work right out of the box and felt very comfortable. I was on my feet all day. They look stylish and I got compliments. My friend is on her second pair of these shoes and she loves them. I am 64 years old and appreciate a comfortable shoe that doesn't look like an "old lady" shoe.
