I love this shoe! I have an orthopedic insert for metatarsalgia, so I removed the original insoles. Walking 3 to 5 miles every evening in these shoes due to weight loss goals, and these are holding up nicely. This is the best my feet have felt in years!

Good for walking but needed to include my orthotics as the insert that comes with the show is flimsy and not enough support for my feet. Have found the V3’s very comfortable and cheaper elsewhere but I prefer this pair but would like it for less.

My second pair of these. They fit well, are comfy right out of the box and give good support.

I have flat, wide feet with a high instep and New Balance work for me better than any other brand I’ve tried.

New Balance 840v4 fits about the same as its predecessor 840v3. Spacious, tall toe box. V4 & v3 offer the best toe box I've found to accommodate feet with serious hammertoes resulting from neuropathy. Also easy to remove the factory insoles & insert custom insoles that my feet require. Haven't yet worn v4 enough to comment on its durability, but v3 has held up well for me.

this is my 2nd pair and i love these shoes. i got the 13ee and they have a wide toe box perfect for my orthotics. plus they have alot of ventilation so they're cooler for your feet.

These are very comfortable shoes but they seem to breakdown quickly. I've had mine for 4 mos and only put 3-4 miles/day in walking onto them (I don't wear them as every-day shoes). I've started to notice that they are providing less support now and my arches are now regularly starting to hurt, which is my indicator of when my shoes need to be replaced. With other shoes this happens usually around the 6 mo mark but the 840s seem to be more delicate. For what the shoes cost, I was expecting better.

The shoe looks good a feels good, however it doesn't last long. I've worn them as a daily shoe in the home office for ~ 4 months and they are 'dead on the inside'. The shoe has completely fatigued; comparatively to a running shoe that has 800+ miles on it. The cushion is gone, the sole is in decent shape, but has lost its rigidity. Feels like walking in a marsh mellow now, and gives zero support. Standing or walking in them (size 13 mens) you can feel the over-pronation occurring, which for me give me some ankle pain. For a +$100 shoe, and 3-4 months of daily 'in the house' wearing of a shoe, its unacceptable. Be prepared to have to replace them real quick.

Fantastic and comfortable shoe for my "high volume" foot (wide, high arch, high instep). Great for walking or standing. Have worn these regularly for over a year now and they're holding up great. Big fan.

perfect fit, easy on the feet.

Hubby has chubby wide foot. These work well for him. He is easy to please, it's always what shade of grey do you want this time.

The fit and size were just right and my feet felt comfortable even the first time I wore them.

I wear these all the time.

I have been using orthotic arch support inserts for about 20 years and New Balance running shoes are the only brand that I have found that work for my wide feet, the sizing has been consistent. The shoes are comfortable, fit well and give me the support I need while running, I weigh 155 pounds. I live in Wyoming and use running shoes outdoors and on a treadmill since outside running is not always conducive to safe running. Can't comment regarding durability and longevity since I started using them on February 9th.

Great sneakers. I wear them daily until they fall apart.

My favorite shoe for lots of walking.

I have very wide feet and normally have to order a size up even with 4ee’s. Not the case with these. I was able to actually wear my actual size in 4ee. Very excited I don’t have to jump thru hoops every year!!!
