These run big, so order a size down. I'm an 8.5 so I ordered the 8 Loved the color, but had some issues. I'm not fat by any means and I have runners legs--so my calves are not gigantic. But I had such trouble with these boots. Fit fine in the foot bed and around the ankle, slipped them on no problem. They were so tight at the top they dug into my knee when I walked and I couldn't tuck in my pants. I couldn't get them off either--it took a good couple of minutes and a lot of tugging before they finally came off. I was sweating by the time I got them off--no fun! Unless you have pencils for legs, these are not for you. I returned them for a bigger size, which was better around the leg but like a boat on my foot. Sent them back for the Huntress. Fits great, with room for the Wellie sock. I can also tuck in my pants!

Wonderful boot until my left boot began to dull and look completely different from the other. Now the buckle has broken off. These are rain boots and it's not like I am wearing them every day. Loved them at first; now, dissatisfied.

Tightly disappointing: I purchased size 7 (I typically wear a size 7 1/2 or 8 in shoes and an 8 1/2 in running shoes and have wide-ish feet). These boots are well made, however they are made in China, not Scotland (anymore). I already knew this and bought them anyway as I am looking for quality boots to replace my cheapies. The lining is nice, and the footbed is padded with a (probably) removable insole; the foot part in plenty big enough even with thick socks, even wide feet. If you can get the boot up to your calf, that is. Straps are for decoration only- they are not functional. The inner circumference/calf of the size 7 is only 14.5 inches. Many ladies will not be able to wear these! I am one of them, sadly. Cheapies I tried at other stores fit, and I can tuck jeans in, but these cut the circulation off. My cheapies split at the seams. Out of curiosity, I may try the shorter version one day, but I am super disappointed in these boots due to sizing. For the price, they should make a larger calf size, ie 16 inches.

I do not understand all these 5 star ratings, maybe I just got a bad pair. I have been wanting these boots forever in the glossy red, and finally broke down and bought them. So disappointed! When I opened the box, I immediately thought Zappos sent the flat instead of the gloss, but no, they were indeed gloss just without much shine at all. Not impressed. And the fit was terrible; I wear a size seven, and I have athletic, not huge, calves. The foot fit fine, with enough room for heavy socks, the ankle was baggy, and the calf was so tight it was painful. Who is shaped like a uniform cyclinder from foot to knee? All in all they look terrible and cheap, definitely not worth the price.

So, I measured my calves before ordering these boots. I have big calves but not that gigantic. Still I always check before ordering a boot off the web. When these arrived I tried them on immediately and found they cut into my legs they were so tight. Yeah right, 'Wear them over skinny jeans.' So I double checked measurements. My legs? Still the same. The boots? Over half an inch less in circumference than stated. On top of which the snugness in the top of the boot greatly contrasts with the looseness in the ankle area which made them seem like they'd be uncomfortable (and silly looking) even if the circumference of the boot were a wee larger. Lastly, there is some weird statement on the tag that these are fashion boots and not guaranteed to last more than a year under normal wear and tear. So much for these boots lasting you for a long time, Zappos. I'm so sad these are a fail. Thank goodness for free shipping both ways, and for other red wellie options.

Probably not meant for shorter gals! I really wanted to love these boots, they look great on other girls. I was hoping the higher boot would help elongate my legs but instead (as my husband so gently put it) I looked like a little kid playing in my mom's boots. The foot bed seemed about a half size larger than a 6 and the high shaft wouldn't allow me to bend my knees...or even walk correctly. I'm a size 6 and that's what I ordered, a size smaller may have worked but where the ankle fit putting them on and off was tight and with heavy socks the 6 should have been the right fit. So, shorter girls (or shorter legged ladies) beware. It is with regret but I must give these a thumbs down with disappointment!

I do like the style of these boots. I do not consider myself too short I am 5'4 and am physically fit I exercise 5 times a week. After walking on these for 1 block I am very tired; for one the boots are a bit tall and are heavy and I do not wear them with the Hunter special thick and maybe heavy sock. These boots are heavy, maybe are insulated with steel. I am thinking of taking these to a boot specialist and have him shorten these by 3". Unfortunately I do not walk with a smile on these, but am hanging on to these because no water goes in and this is what I look for before looks. Should consider weight next time. But I can wait for winter to be over to put them away. I did not realize these came in gloss/matte. Mine are gloss. I thought gloss was the only option and I feel like a kid. Zappos should emphasize a bit more on gloss/matte option. I hope Hunter makes these ankle high or shorter than what they have as in my state these fireman tall boots are not necessary. I hope Zappos also includes weight of shoe/boot. And if it did include weigh I missed it. Can't write anymore; am tired after wearing these boots.

I work in a city where the streets flood quickly so I have been looking for a rainboot that wasn't covered with polka dots and I was excited to find this boot, which I ordered in Graphite. Everything about them is perfect, except they are about an inch too tall for me. As long as I stand they are okay, but when I sit down the back of the boot is into the bend of my knee and I don't think I could tolerate the 45 minute drive into town like that. I am about 5'5" so I don't know if they are designed for taller people or if I'm just letting something bug me that shouldn't. I wish they offered the same style with a slightly shorter shaft. Unfortunately, I think I am going to return them and maybe try the Gabrielle Rocha in black, even though it's not nearly as nice looking. I need to get something because my pants are all getting ruined from dirty street water flipping up on them while I'm making my two block trek from the parking lot to the office in the rain!

I was so excited to get these on sale, but when they arrived they were nearly completely white from a powdery white film. I thought well I guess this is why they were on sale, so I googled how to clean them, by doing so I learned this powder is called "blooming" so I took a dry dish towel and attempted to softly remove the stuff, I let them set for a day and it seemed like some had come back. So I want to exchange them for some without "blooming" they were still so expensive, I don't feel like I shouldn't have clean new shoes.

These boots were defective upon receiving, with an all-over white chalky film across the pair. A caution when ordering the Graphite Gloss color.

I absolutely cannot believe what I saw when I opened that box. It was by far the worst looking pair of shoes/boots I had ever received from ordering online. These boots were scuffed, looked worn and had marks and crap all over them, like something had been wasted on them. I cannot believe that whoever shipped those from Zappos actually looked at them and thought someone would like them. I'm just completely in shock. I have ordered Hunter boots from the actual site and even Nordstrom and never had an issue with what is supposed to be a NEW pair of boots. Never will I EVER order anything again from this site. Credibility is now gone out the window since quality control is of no concern to you guys. Smh.

Wow! I am Horrified at the condition of the boots that your company sent! There are all kinds of scratches and white scuff marks all over both boots! Where is your Quality Control? I have tried Zappos twice now and have been so let down. Your company really needs to work on Qualilty Control!

Received one pair and it had a white film all over both boots. Returned for second pair and had the same white film all over. They looked like they were 100 years old. I was told it was called blooming and to wash them. Unfortunately it didn't change a thing. Will be returning...again. Zappos - you need to check your inventory of these.

Ordered the red original gloss Hunter rainboot. They were delivered in about 4 days from order. However, the product was disappointing. The boots had a film all over both boots and scuff marks on them. Very disappointed.

I bought these shoes for my daughter. After six months of wear, they developed three tears in the boots. These tears are caused by the folding of the rubber, but they still should have lasted more then six months. They are fashionable boots, but do not provide warmth at all, unless you buy the expensive inserts for the boots. The socks that provide a little warmth are also not too cheap. After contacting the company about the tears they said there was nothing they could do. Except being stylish these boots were awful. They are way over priced, develop tears (letting water in), and are freezing cold. I would rather pay the money for Uggs which will at least keep your feet warm and dry.

I ordered these boots in black gloss. When the boots arrived, it looked as if the gloss was smudged. Upon further inspection, the gloss had actually rubbed off. I immediately exchanged the boots for another pair. Again, the same problem. I read many reviews on the gloss boots and none of the reviewers mentioned this problem. I am returning both pairs of boots. Each boot is not individually wrapped and are placed in the box side-by-side. I think the gloss is rubbing off during shipping because the boots are rubbing against each other. I am disappointed because the boots are super cute. I did go down a size, and they fit well. However, if you are planning on wearing these boots with heavy socks, then I would recommend a half-size down.

I ordered the Hunter Regent boot in black gloss, and just loved them when they came. They were a perfect fit. I wore them a couple of times (just in the rain...nothing strange) and then the season changed and I didn't wear them again for a year. When I went to put them on after after several months, the black gloss had faded to dull grey streaks? They are now pretty ugly and I wouldn't wear them outside. I would not recommend anyone to buy this boot.

I normally don't have a problem with calf width on taller boots; however, these were unusually narrow. However, the footbed was comfortable. Sadly after wearing for a day, I'm not able to return.

While the boots LOOK nice, I had to return as they were caked in mud. Not the first time Zappos has sent me very worn and used shoes. Additionally, the Hunter box was banged up and aged, a sure sign when I opened the package that the previous owner took full advantage of Zappos' generous return policy.

I love the style of these boots. However, they are extremely uncomfortable if you do a lot of walking. In the summer these are hot as heck. In the winter they are chilly, and the Hunter socks bunch up at the feet and make an uncomfortable boot even more uncomfortable. The bottom of my feet ache when I walk in these for a while, although I do not have arch problems and do not experience this in any other shoes I own. As a result, these boots sit in my closet. I do think they are sharp looking, and if you don't plan to walk much while wearing them they might be for you.

Received these boots, but the have a white film all over. They are supposed to be high gloss, however they have many spots that are very dull along with having the white film. I checked the box and they are made in China. For the price there should be some quality control!

These looked so cute that I ordered a pair, thinking it would be great to have a nice, stylish pair of waterproof boots for the winter. They arrived literally overnight (thanks Zappos!) and I slipped them on along with a pair of Hunter boot socks that I ordered to pair with them. I was not crazy about the feel of them, they are high and stiff and I did not like the lack of arch support, but I wore them around the house for an hour to decide if I wanted to keep them. I was on the fence, loving the look, but unsure about the feel. Until I went to take them off that is. I practically had a panic attack trying to get these off my feet! They slipped on easily enough but to take them off required writhing and pulling and digging the toe of one into the heel of the other to hold it steady and pull my foot out. I actually thought that I might need a second person to help get the other one off. Awful. I do not know if the boot socks were what made it so difficult? But you absolutely need the heavy socks to avoid the rubber chafing your shin, and for warmth. They definitely were not too tight going on. Oh well, the thought was fun. I do not know how anyone wears these things since they are so crazy hard to take off!
