This pack was the perfect daypack for my three month trip to SE asia. I used it nearly every day. It's comfortable, suitable for day hikes, and well designed. Just for reference, I could fit the following in the pack: A lightweight fleece jacket, a rainjacket, a bottle each of sunscreen and bug spray, maps, a guidebook, a kindle (in the laptop pocket), a few granola bars, and a baseball cap, and still have a little extra room at the top. It was pretty durable as well. It has just the right amount of organization. It stood up to 10 days of intense day hikes, being flung on top of buses and shoved on the back of trucks, covered in dust and dirt without even the tiniest rip. I popped it in the sink with some castille soap when I got home and it looked just like new!
The side mesh pockets were a problem, because, as many reviews have said, they are too small to fit the standard 1 liter Nalgenes or similar without the bottles slipping out. However, the buckles that are on each side (running from the shove-it pocket to just below each shoulder) have little holes in them that you can thread small, lightweight caribiners through to clip to larger water bottles. I gather that the Daylite series is really designed for use with a hydration bladder anyway.
Unfortunately, the front shove-it pocket was too small to fit my raincoat, which totally defeated the purpose. However, luckily the backpack is spacious enough to fit my raincoat and another jacket inside, so I didn't really need it. It just seemed a bit pointless. Overall, I absolutely love my Daylite Plus and would definitely recommend it for travelers and day hikers.

I walk/hike on holidays/weekends. This is a good capacity backpack BUT the water bottles slide out as the elasticised tops of the side pockets are too loose. I was going to buy another Day lite plus, but will wait tosee if Osprey corrects the side pocket issue.

Bought one of these as a replacement for a day pack that fell apart at the 2017 Boy Scout National Jamboree. The pack is well made and a quality item. My only criticism is that the external water bottle pockets are too shallow. Unless your water bottle is secured to one of the side straps with a snap link, it will easily fall out. Otherwise, there is little to criticize. The pack can carry a small first aid kit, an EDC kit, a light jacket/rain shell and snacks for lunch.

I am really happy with this backpack as it is lite, small, comfy and looks nice on the back. Besides its 20lt volume it can still fit almost everything that i need even for a short hiking trail and the jacket can always go along the outer adjustable "pocket". The major problem though is that after a year of almost everyday use the bottom part of the backpack that touches the back as well as the upper part of the straps that touch the chest have worn out so much that it started tearing apart the inside mesh layer. Also the back net that is supposed to help with sweating doesnt really work.

This size and function of this pack fits perfectly for an everyday/travel daypack. I ordered online after searching and reading reviews, but was underwhelmed when I saw these thin straps. This looks like a functional backpack from a department store. I've used a Farpoint 70 (with 15L daypack), and a Stratos 24 for several years now. The daylight series does not appear to be as robust as expected of Osprey. Still working my way through buyer's remorse here.

I have a older Daylite Plus that is better and is my go to bag. I dont like the changes you've made to the bag. the vertical zipper on the front is better than the horizontal -- w the vertical I can get things out of that zippered pocket without taking the bag off. the other thing I really dislike is that you've moved the bladder pouch to the inside. by doing that you have eliminated an area to pack when carrying a bladder. ALSO, if the bladder leaks everything in the bag is wet. my older bag is better than the new one. I have to admit I'm disappointed in these changes. if you have an old school bag in blue in storage somewhere I will happily change out this new style for the old!!

My biggest, maybe even only, complain about this pack is that Nalgene bottles won't stay in the side mesh pockets. Otherwise, this could be a really good, minimalist day pack for snacks, a rain jacket and water. Obviously, you can use the reservoir, but for those small day hikes that really amount to a glorified walk, you don't need that much weight.

I purchased this pack to serve as my personal item for a two-week trip to Italy (carry on luggage only!) There was no need to overfill it - just an iPad, some snacks, a jacket, and a Nalgene. I figured I could then use it for day hikes and such after the trip, so I wasn't frivolously throwing money away.
Italy is hot in the summer and Rome, at least, has fountains scattered around town where you can fill up a bottle while you're touring the sites. All I really needed was my Nalgene. And that turned out to be the problem. They don't stay in the side stretch mesh pockets. The bottle kept falling out.
Otherwise, it would be a fine, small, minimalist daypack.

I wanted something I can take with my hiking and everyday to work as my everyday needs pack. The side bottle pockets, don't hold bottles, everything j put in there falls out. The outside front pocket gets caught on everything and I find that annoying. Everytime I put it in and out of my locker it snags. I've gotten it caught on serveral other things. If the pack had those two problems figured out.. I'd love it. It really is the perfect size/weight/comfort for my every day needs.

Great for carrying light loads while hiking. Pockets are very accessible and all materials seem pretty durable.
Unfortunately, the frame is a little too long for my torso (5'2") so is fairly uncomfortable as the shoulder straps connect at the top and feels fairly suffocating just behind my neck.

I can only join the chorus about the side pockets for water bottles. I have lost 3 water bottles so far with this pack (you'd think I'd have learnt my lesson, but no...). I thought by using a taller bottle that would fit under the strap I'd be fine but that fell out too. I really hope that the next revision has deeper and tighter side pockets!

I typically used this bag as a day pack when I went for walks or small hike where I didn't need much gear and didn't have much issues at first, the bag is light and has tons of compartments in all locations but here is when the problems began. I had to do a lot of traveling on foot for my job when we have to go to the city, I figured this bag would be perfect well I was wrong, the first issue is the side compartments what is the purpose of them as my water bottles grew bigger in volume so did the problems with keeping them in the side pouches. For some odd reason they cut low and don't secure bigger water bottles well especially if you do not strap the kangaroo pouch buckles through the loops, so I ended up up not using the side pouches and and taking up space in the kangaroo pouch for the water instead ( I used to keep my first aid kit and headphone case there) secondly as the weight of the items in the pack increases so does the discomfort level of the suspension straps, the plastic strip that secures the sternum strap just dig into my armpits and causes so much discomfort. The straps deffinely maintain breathablity but I cannot keep my sternum strap buckled because I constantly take the bag on and off, I typically walk 8 miles or more a day and the backpack is on me from 6:00am to 5:00pm so I put the word daypack to use, I only carry paperwork portable cell charger a security screw driver and a small crescent wrench inside. The bag is extremely durable I will give credit where it is due and holds up really well with rain the zippers barely ever snag and the seams hold perfectly, this bag is amazing for light gear but once you start adding things that's where you notice the flaws. I wish there where just a few changes to the bag In those areas I mentioned and this bag without a doubt will become one of the best out there, I have kelty bags that cost more and aren't performing to expectations, and the osprey warranty if it holds true to the saying is top notch!

As i can't fit my entire review in here - short version:
Postive:
Great main compartment with a laptop sleeve big enough for a MacBook Pro 15" with DVD drive.
Front/top zipper pocket roomy enough for a wallet and glasses in a hard case.
Kangaroo pouch zipper compartment is very useful.
Durable material.
Negative:
Main compartment don't open without open the kangaroo pocket unbuckled
Kangaroo pocket poor, don't trust to hold anything, especially as advertised in the product video on Osprey's website.
Side mesh pockets poor, items fall out easily - mentioned before by other reviewers.
Main compartment zipper stuck very easily in the rain cover flap.
No handle to hang.

I bought this for travel and day hikes and it works fairly well for those purposes but because the side pockets don't hold water bottles(they slide out when bending over) you have to put the bottles in the main compartment which takes away space from the main compartment and makes getting water out difficult.

This pack is great. Holds my laptop for work and ALL of the stuff my kids and I would need when out on a day trip. Fits easily under a airplane seat and has held up well with extensive use. BUT I am retiring this bag and on the hunt for a new onebecause as much as I love the bag, the water bottle pockets on the side are horrible. They do not hold the water bottle in. Every time I set the bag down or lean over the water bottle comes right out. Drives me nuts. Something to do with the angle of the pocket, sometimes the water bottle won't even fit in the pocket at all. It makes no sense. Other than that, its a perfect bag.

So sad to return this. I love the color and overall design look of the backpack. It is also incredibly comfortable. The straps are cushy even though they seem quite thin, and they are also set a good distance apart so they don't rub your neck at all. The grab handle also lays flat which I love. So why return it? Primarily because the bottom of the backpack is constructed/sewn at a steep angle so there is no way to stand the backpack up on the bottom. To set it down it must be laid down completely on its front or back. It doesn't matter what is in or not in it. It comes to a very sharp and stiff point at the back. . . So much so that it is even impossible to lean up against something if the ground/surface it's on is at all smooth. I hike with a backpack in addition to visiting theme parks with a backpack. I do not want to have to worry about holding the backpack up while I dig through it and retrieve things. You have to hold it up while digging through it so it doesn't fall over and then continue holding it up while you use whatever it is you retrieved. If you don't it's just going to fall right over onto its front. . . . Which then can spill the contents and gets the pack dirty. I cannot understand why a backpack would be designed in a way that doesn't allow it to stand up. . . . The backpack also feels smaller / more narrow than one would expect from the capacity. The contents in the main pocket do not feel very accessible. I had some small binoculars in the front pack and had to remove them in order to remove what I wanted from the main pocket. You can't dig around in there effectively because it doesn't open up very wide so you have to remove the things that are on top to reach the things on the bottom. This ends up with a big mess of items spread all over the place while you were also trying to hold up the backpack. I did a day hike with it once and that was more than enough. The sunscreen had slipped to the bottom of the main pouch and I had to take out the binoculars in the front pouch, the jacket in the stuff pouch, loosen the cross straps attached the front pouch, and remove the soft-sided lunch container from the main pouch to get the sunscreen out. And then of course the backpack needed to lie down completely next to all the items in the dirt so that I could have two hands-free to use the sunscreen. It was honestly a bit comical. We then stopped at a restaurant and since I had my wallet in it I just brought the backpack in and could not lean it up against The bench I was seated on and since it was a bench I couldn't hang it on the back like I would a chair. . . . This left the backpack laying flat on its back on the dirty restaurant floor. Now I know to check if a backpack can stand up before I buy it!

I love this backpack. I've had it about a year and it is great for day hikes and travel. Perfect size, comfortable to wear. Lots of compartments. But there is one major issue with it. The stitching around the zippers is starting to fall apart in multiple areas. I have only worn this pack on a handful of trips. I don't use it as my daily backpack, and the stitching should not be falling apart already. Very disappointed.

Too short and not wide enough width when packed for adult size person. More for kids/teenagers or someone to use as a hands free purse bag.

Most of this bags design work well. Great storage. Very light weight with great airflow and ventilation. Unfortunately the unique handle design cuts into the back of my neck and it pulls the shoulder straps into my trap muscles which cuts off blood flow in my neck. I am a lean and athletic male 5'11 with average width shoulders I weight 145 lbs and have spent months backpacking with osprey packs and have never had a problem like this before. I'm sorry to say that I had to return it as even my wife all of 5' and 110lbs had the same discomfort issues as me. If this pack works for you I'm happy but I strongly advise that you try this pack on before you buy it.

I am definitely a fan of Osprey and really, really wanted to love this pack. In fact, I tried it out last year when doing preliminary shopping, noticed issues, then paused my search and still bought this bag recently to really try it out with my gear and see if I could make it work. Cons: (1) awful side mesh pockets. Too big & loose, saggy, ugly mesh (not stretchy), they don't hold water bottles well at all. (2) The horrible integrated "handle" attached to the shoulder straps. Hate it!!! It definitely pushes into my neck, even after weighing the bag down with my gear and really trying to adjust the hip belt and straps...no matter what I cannot remedy this. If the handle was not integrated in this way, I would probably overlook the side mesh pockets. Perhaps it's because I'm somewhat short..female, 5'4" but I do have a long net torso. It's just so uncomfortable.
Pros include the aesthetic, organizational pockets, and the fact that the hydration reservoir has a separate access pocket.
I have an Osprey Questa, and love so many of their packs, most are actually very comfortable. I really appreciate the versatility of this bag, it is exactly what I was looking for, but I simply cannot make it work, and will return it.
Osprey, please change the handle, and use stretchy mesh for the side pockets. I am really hoping to see these changes in the near future so that I can buy this pack then! For now, I am looking at the Deuter Speed Lite 20 which is 100x more comfortable.

Everything's great except side bottle pockets. They are too wide, too shallow and without enough tension to hold an ordinary water bottle (or coffee mug). The only bottle that you can be sure not to lose is one with a built in hook or loop to run the strap through.

Seems like a great pack but I can't wear it. My other Osprey packs are XS/S and are super comfortable. The way this is designed, the handle on top gets pulled to horizontal and cuts into my neck if I tighten the straps so that the pack sits properly. If I wear it lower so the handle isn't a problem, the hip belt is several inches too low.

I really really wanted to love this backpack. My husband
The two biggest issues I have had with this pack are 1. It's not boxy enough for me and 2. The side pockets are essentially useless.
This backpack is really frustrating for me to load. I mainly use it going to and from work, sort of as a purse, in a way. It carries my planner, my breast pump (I'm currently breastfeeding), my water bottle, pens/markers, lotion, headphones, and an umbrella. I'm frustrated at least once a day by the annoyance of having to prop the stupid pack up against something because it is ALWAYS falling forward. You can't prop this thing up and easily get in and out of it. It's always laying on its front or back like a limp noodle. The "curve" of the bag doesn't allow me to fit things in properly. I feel like I'm stacking everything on top of one another rather than being able to organize the inside in an easy way. The straps are too thin too, and get twisted when I go to throw the pack on.
My water bottle falls out of this backpack almost every single day when I get out of my car, throw it on to leave work, and even when I'm trying to stuff it in there it won't allow me unless I force it. (I use a hydroflask.) Today was the last straw when my water bottle flopped out of the backpack onto the ground and broke the lid off. UGH!
Other random things: there's this weird front pocket that is open to everything that I find pretty useless. I've never used the laptop sleeve but I wouldn't trust the backpack to protect it.

Like the many of reviews before me the side mesh pockets are USELESS. I have severely damaged my Hydroflask liter size bottle because it fell out of the side pocket when I bent over to tie my shoe. When I brought this issue up to customer service they told me that the side pockets are for gear not for water bottles and that I should try using a reservoir instead. Any gear that I put in the side pockets would be smaller than a liter size Nalgene or Hydroflask so it would certainly slide out like my water bottles. And I can't always use a reservoir since I bought this pack for many things, including hiking, traveling, and day to day activities.
The side pocket issue is a big enough turn off for me that I would not recommend this pack and have started looking into other options.

Unfortunately this bag hasnt hit the mark, which is disappointing as this is the third osprey bag i have purchased (all previous have been brillant).
Am finding the harness uncomfortable when packed with any substantial weight, ie just grabbing a few things from supermarket on way home. And the most frustrating thing is it doesnt stand up by itself when u are trying to oack it so u have to lean it against something or hang off a chair.
Will pkeep using it due to the cost it set me back but as an eveyday commuter bag it has its flaws to just bear in mind as id read a few reviews before purchasing.
