Love this bag! I've been looking for the perfect tote for my travels for over a year. Yes, I'm picky. I don't like labels or big brand names showing all over the bag. The Frye logo is small and discreet in the bottom corner of the bag. I also like a light colored interior, and most totes are lined with dark fabrics. This one is lined with an attractive beige stripe that's very easy on the eye and makes it easy to find things. The bag is constructed with Frye's usual high quality leather, and it's made very well. The styling is classic and I know I will be using this bags forever. It's the kind of accessory that is going to look better with age.

I love Frye bags and I need something that will fit my laptop along with all my other daily work stuff. I also want something neutral but elegant/attractive (so not a briefcase looking computer bag and not a kids’ messenger bag.) I got this in slate. The pros: it’s certainly big enough, the leather smells wonderful, it could go with causal or workwear, it’s a very attractive shape and should last forever. The cons: I’m a little disappointed in the color, which I thought would be that elusive vintage blackish/greyish/dark brownish color that some Frye boots have, but’s it’s just a really plain dark brown. It’s duller than other Melissa bags I have seen (it doesn’t shine like the photo), and doesn’t feel as soft as other Melissa bags. My biggest complaint is the straps, which are narrow and have sharp edges. All of The other Frye bags I have tried have very comfortable, flat but still slightly cushy straps with soft/hidden edges. I don’t get this design decision for these skinny straps as it’s such a huge bag—when filled to capacity, these will definitely dig in. All in all, I’m on the fence— it’s almost exactly what I need, and the slate color was a good deal, but I suspect it just doesn’t feel as nice as the others. And I’m pretty sad the straps are actually sharp! Very un-Frye-like detail.

I was very disappointed to see that the strap was not a 10 1/2 inch drop. More like a 7-8 inch drop. I was hoping for a tote that swung over my shoulder and sadly, this isn't it.

This bag is so beautiful. The leather is thick but pliable. The bag is roomy, but is fine if I just have a wallet, phone and sunglasses. The cognac color is rich. I'm obsessed with this bag.

Beautiful bag and fits a lot of items. Nice leather. My only criticism is the inside pockets could be slightly bigger. Why not make them bigger rather than smaller to be on the safe side for people? For example I have to cram my check book into the pocket it should easily fit in. After I oiled the leather it looked even better.

I’ve been looking for a shopper for awhile. I needed the straps to be long and thin enough not to slip off of my shoulder and this bag is perfect. I got the cognac which is such a beautiful colour. I will enjoy this bag for many years.

I bought this bag as an occasional casual bag for my laptop. I probably only use it twice a month and almost not at all for 2020. Well, after not even 2 years, the sides of the straps are falling apart. :(. Very disappointing for how much I paid. Back to Coach I guess.

This bag is spectacular. Great style, wonderfully made & handsome. It can get a little heavy, but for a day to day bag it’s perfect.

Super disappointed in the quality of this bag. After only 3 months, the stitching is unraveling on the strap as well as the bottom of the bag. When I contacted the company I was given the name of a repair company I could contact and no effort was made to replace the poorly made bag itself. I expected much better considering the cost of this bag.

Love this tote! It is a wonderful size, and the gray is gorgeous. The leather is nicely distressed, so it hasn’t shown any wear yet. Love Frye bags!

This bag is exactly what I've been looking for. Beautiful, rich cognac color, soft leather, the distress is just enough. The lining, straps, etc. are all very well made. This is my first purchase from FRYE, very pleased!

I purchased this bag for my birthday when I saw it featured on Rank and Style. This bag is beautiful and very durable. It Carrie's so much. I also purchased the Frye leather treatment. It enriched the beautiful color. Glad I did because it rained the day after I received my bag.

I'm a bit of a bag fanatic and finding one I love enough to carry all the time is a real challenge. This bag checks all the boxes. Perfect as a weekender or an every day work bag, stylish enough to dress up or down, roomy enough to hold a few days worth of clothes or everything you need for a meeting. If you had to live with only one bag (wow! that's one of the worst things I've ever typed), this is the bag that will get you through!

I had bought one earlier in a lighter color and have loved carrying it all summer I wanted a darker color for fall and winter.

Absolutely love the color! Already have this purse in the brown for winter....ordered the amythest color for spring/summer. Quality material and the perfect bag for me! Get plenty of compliments too! Definitely recommend!

All around perfect bag!

I bought this for my work bag and it's perfect! The leather is beautiful. A little rugged but yet professional. I love all the compartments inside and can keep all my pens, sunglasses, phone and other supplies organized. Very roomy. Large enough to hold a full size laptop, chargers, accordion folder, datebooks, notepads, makeup and wallet. Everything I need to get through the day. I've received lots of compliments too. It's sturdy enough that I think it will be around for a really long time.

This has been my spring bag, the gray is beautiful and complimentary to anything I am wearing or doing. Great airplane bag and I am confident in the craftsmanship withstanding being overloaded at times and maintaining its form when it is being used a purse. Lots of secure pockets for a shopper, magnet is super strong. Love it
