Tried Hoka on a recommendation. Pretty shoes that look to be well made. I wear orthotics and this pair is a tad tight. So far, with only a few miles, they are very comfortable to run in.

The "Blackened Pearl / Kumquat" is way lighter than the online pictures giving it a more feminine look. "Major letdown". I'm going to man up and give them a whirl anyway hope it works out.

springy and cushioned very well where I think a shoe should be. I use it for both road running and mild trails, performs very well. I do hope they find a way to shave some weight off, maybe by making the upper thinner or not directed to a "lifestyle" line but towards a performance line instead. Also making it a 4mm drop would help lower weight, keeping the same forefoot measurement. And perhaps opening the toe box slightly would be nice.

I bought these shoes because I have plantar fasciitis. I have the Hoka trail shoes and they are awesome. Only thing is that they look really funny and everyone makes fun of the way they look. "moon shoes". The Hupana look great. Out of the box they were definitely more narrow than I am used to but after I loosen the laces they got a little better. I use them for walking mostly and going to the gym. No running for me because of foot issue. They are getting better with being worn in. We''ll see, I have 30 days to try out and return if I don't like.

nice cushion with 5 rise. I have spine problem and can run 3 miles 3x per week. Other shoes don't let me do this. Also Looks like normal shoe for those who wear runners casually.

Love the shoe but .... I own and wear a pair of Challenger ATR 3's for trails and a pair of Gaviota's for the road. I bought a pair of Hupana's for more casual walking but the toe box of the Hupana is pretty narrow. Fortunately, not too narrow for me.

I bought these for an everyday casual shoe. Love the quality of the materials, construction and craftsmanship. Good, even cushioning. However, I wish the standard width was wider or Hoka would offer an additional wide size. The fit for length is true, but even checking size up did not provide much improvement for width and only compromised my stride. I bought my true size, the toe room is fine, but they are really snug on the sides. Buy them if you have a narrow foot. If you are borderline wide, probably not.

Great shoe but would add just a bit more cushion, then you would have a five star review...keep the blue flower color pattern!

Very comfortable if you buy 1/2 size larger. If you have a wide foot it will be too tight.I don't know why Hoka does not make their shoes with proper widths.I have the Bondi 5 but purchased the wide width and is fine.My feet are NOT wide and Hoka are the only shoes that I have ever purchased in a wide size.....?????

Great shoe and well cushioned yet less bulky than some of the other HOKAs. I did find that both pairs of Hupana I have owned wore out relatively quickly which is why it lost 1 star. Otherwise it's a great shoe.

Great shoe, that looks clean too. Little tight up front that bothered me and I have more of a narrow foot.

I own several different styles of Hoka shoes for different uses (Bondi - general running conditions, longer distances, Stinson - trail running and Clayton - short distance road races) and have been a loyal Hoka fan for +5 years. I love the Hupana shoe for casual wear and working out as the Bondi and Stinson are too "clunky" for that. They are a bit on the narrow side which will be problematic for some. Hopefully, Hoka will add a small bit of width to them in the future. I love the Hawaiian print version - really unique and I get a lot of complements on them!

Been a Hoka fan for a few years running everything from marathons to 5Ks. I love this shoe for fitness classes and for lifting as well as for just kicking around town. For others it will be well suited for the track and 5Ks but with little cartilage left in my knees, I'll stick with the Bondis for running.

I purchased these shoes as a replacement for a pair of black Adidas Stan Smiths that I wear as street shoes. I needed a bit more comfort that a tennis shoe and liked the design of the Hupanas in black. Out of the box, I found the shoe to be the correct length, but the width is a bit narrow/tight. I have a normal D width and found that I had to loosen the laces in order to get them to be acceptable, comfort-wise. They are very good as a street shoe and I wear them almost daily. The mesh upper breathes and the sole gives me a decent amount of cushion and flexibility. If you use them for running, they are most certainly a neutral shoe. I don't run in them, but think the sole would probably break down a bit more quickly than other Hoka shoes that have high abrasion rubber material on the bottom. The sole of the Hupanas only have the thick white layer of CMEVA foam. I'm gonna keep the shoes and continue to wear them; but if you have slightly wide feet, I'd go up a 1/2 size or so.

I like the shoe, but feel the Clifton is better suited for me, it has a bit more cushioning. But a good shoe.

The Clayton (original) has been my go-to shoe for several marathons. Perhaps bc I don't wear orthotics I have not had the blistering problems that some runners have experienced. It provides a fantastic combination of cushioning in a light shoe. The Hupana weighs an ounce more and is supposed to be more cushioned in the forefoot (I am a forefoot runner). I have run 7 miles wearing one of each shoe on my feet. They started out feeling the same but by the end of the run the Hupana was feeling more cushioned albeit in a firm way. Yet the Claytons still felt more comfortable in a way, maybe because they are more broken in. I am going to take the Hupanas on my next 20 mile training run and see compare them to the Claytons and make a final decision. I must say Hoka's 30 day wear policy allows me to do this kind of testing and comparison and is the best return policy out there. One more great reson to stay with Hoka!

Great new shoe from Hoka. Lacks extra soft cushioning of models such as Clifton and even Tracer, but still light and competent with overall decent traction. I would recommend for any runs 5K or under. They have adequate stability and my feet never heated up. The mesh is light and breathable.

I recently purchased a pair of Hupanas on your website. I love the shoes, they are comfortable and work well as a daily shoe. However I noticed that the shoes don't look the same. I am attaching a photo of the front of the shoes they don't seem to match. At first I thought the white plastic was a different shape but upon further inspection it is the black paint on the white doesn't come up as far. This is not the quality I am used to from HOKA. I sent the shoes back and got the replacements in a reasonable amount of time. However the new shoes were only slightly better than the first. I contacted Hoka with a pic of the new shoes and their advice was to just exchange as before or refund. I kept the shoes but again this is not the quality I am used to from Hoka.

my true size with an orthotic is an 11.5. It was almost comfortable but on longer runs of 10 miles+ I felt the narrow pinching in the forefoot, especially around the toes. I moved into a 12 and it was almost too roomy, but taking into consideration how much feet swell during long runs it was just right. Still, would love to see a wider toe box. This shoe would get 5 stars if it weighed an ounce less. instead I have a conundrum whether to use the Hupanas or the Clayton2 for my next marathon. I prefer the cushioning of the Hupana but the weight of the Clayton. 2 great shoes - tough choice!

Having owned 2 pairs of Cliftons and 1 pair of Bondi I was surprised at the narrow toe box as the other shoes fit me very well. I bought the Hupana for use as a walking shoe and light running. However, the narrow toe box will make these a walking shoe. I do have to say they are a good looking shoe which was the main reason for buying them. Also please ignore my 2 star rating of the show. I am sure this shoe would work well for other people but just not me.

Just tried the Hupanas for the first time during a recovery run. They feel light and responsive while still providing a lot of cushion. They don't have the bulky, marshmallow feel of some Hokas. I was definitely impressed with the responsive feel during some sprints and the comfort when cruising at an easy pace. I can't wear any other Hokas because of the narrow fit. These are a little more forgiving with the knit upper and your feet don't sink down into the insole. I'm impressed and plan to use these regularly for training runs. I'd give 5 stars if they were just a little wider in the toe box!

These might be good for running but I bought these for work where I stand and walk for 12 plus hours and after just a couple of hour in these they hurt my feet.
