I have been a loyal NB customer for +25 years. This was my first purchase in about four years and there has been a noticeable decline in shoe quality. The show tongue is shorter and makes shoes not fit as well. Also lower quality overall. I plan to search other brands on my next purchase.

Version3 is not as soft-stepping in the heel as Version 1 (plain 928). This is especially bad with orthotic inserts. Yes, the tongue is a bit too short now too.

Nice shoe, doing interior construction after foot surgery 4 months ago, holding up ok for now. I think they are overpriced but my doctor told me to wear them. I thought when I bought them 3 weeks age there was a 5 dollar off sale on them but I never got it . I don't think they will hold up very long for what I do !

The v3 is smaller than previous models - I've had all three now. The v1 had a nice smooth liner in the entire shoe. The v3 has gaps in the area over the big toe first knuckle resulti9ng in pressure that rubs the top of the foot - very uncomfortable. They made it cheaper/lower quality - much prefer v1 shoe, it was great.

Shipping was quick. Decent price. The tongue is too short. They are not an instant comfort when putting them on, but the again, I just got them, so I have not worn them for any length of time yet.

I have worn the 928 for as long as it has been made. The 928 was, for all intense and purposes, the most perfect walking shoe that I have ever worn. When the version 2 came out I jumped right to it. That shoe was a poor design with a smaller toe box, a short tounge and a lower instep. They went back to New Balance. Now the version 3 has a bigger toe box, but the tounge is so small that you can't use the last two eyelets as they were intended because the lace rubs the side of your foot and the area that is tied ends up off the tounge and on your skin. Why change a shoe when the shoe is as perfect for the intended use as can be, I will never know. You now have a second rate shoe. Nice going.

The biggest positive I can state for this shoe is that it is leagues better than the v2 released some time ago. This 6E width fit like it should and did not feel incredibly narrow like the v2. Also, quality wise, it seems to be starting off better, since the small strap on the shoe tongue did not snap at the first lace tightening as it did on the v2. The only negative in the short time I've worn them is mid-foot. I don't know if it's the rollbar or the shoe design, but there is a definite lump in the middle/outer edge of the shoe pressing into both feet. I'm going to try an insole with a harder base or more padding to compensate, but it's quite aggravating. I would have understood something under the arch of the foot, but on the outside edge, it just feels like a rock in both shoes. I would have given the shoe a two-star for comfort overall, but just going back to a true 6E was a huge step forward for the model.

The stabilizers are too firm for me and make it impossible to wear for any length of time.

I have been buying these shoes almost every 6 months for over 8 years because they are the only ones that feel wide enough and have the stability my doctor recommended. The last few pairs I have purchased seem to be made differently than before. They feel comfortable and supportive for about a month or two, then my feet start hurting again. I am on cement surfaces for work 8 out of the 9 hours shift. I have tried other brands, but they are nowhere near what I need for my feet issues. I will continue to purchase these until I can find something else.

The width is noticeably thinner than previous 6E New Balance pairs I have, and I confirmed this using an old previous pair of a similar shoe type from New Balance by comparing them. I will be returning these. They hurt my feet.

continued to squeak even after attempted breaking in and 'home remedy' of WD 40. Cannot stand the squelching sound and will return them.

There was about 1" between the top of my foot and the shoe. Frankenstein would look good in these.

RECEIVED SHOES 3 DAYS BACK. GLUE IS ALL OVER SOUL ON SIDES. TONGUE'S ARE TO SHORT. QUALITY IS VERY POOR FOR THE PRICE WE PAY. HAVE OWNED AT LEAST 20 PAIRS OVER THE YEARS, AND QUALITY IS SINKING.

Very comfortable shoe, great for walking. However just under the 3 month mark the material on the inside of the heel tore and gives blisters, rendering them unusable. I only walk an hour a day so I wouldn't expect any shoe lining to tear after 3 months, let alone one at this price point. Can't recommend for this reason, however they were great while they lasted.

I use these shoes for walking for exercise and casual wear. The cushioning is thin and the left shoe seems to be even thinner than the right. Would NOT recommend these.

Amazingly NB claims that these shoes are built off the same last (mould) as my other shoes but they are definitely narrower in the toe box area. I had, and returned, this model of shoe once before but gave them another try because they are offered in 6E width (I normally get 4E). The comfort is better than my previous work shoes (6E from a different manufacturer) but I'm still not overly impressed by them. I will begrudgingly buy another pair as needed for work since they are only marginally more comfortable than what took me years to find. As a side note, since I've complained of this before, but I feel that all shoes built off a particular last should fit the same. Don't bother saying the manufacturing process blah, blah, blah nonsense. If I buy a performance tire, touring tire, luxury ride tire etc in a specific size each tire will fit the rim so get your act together, NB, it's irritating!

Despite having a "roll bar" on each shoe, the heel on the right shoe feels like it gives a little and makes a popping sound when my step moves to the toe. It's embarrassing in public.

The shoe was uncomfortable in the heel, but the 4E was wide enough. I love my 1006 court shoes, but they are not available in extra wide.
