After a year of nearly everyday use, they have completely fallen apart. I think some of it was defect and some bad fit. Still, the Rollbar has save by ankles and i could walk miles in them without pain.

I have been buying the shoes since the 928 came out. They have been the best for my neuropathy. This last purchase I was emailed a coupon from NB for 15% of and free shipping. I didn't need a new pair but these are expensive and hard to find any discounts. I made the purchase on line entered the coupon code and nothing happened. Continued with the purchase thinking it was a computer error and contacted NB customer service. They informed me the 928 models do not qualify for the coupon they sent me!

I always purchase New balance shoes. when I find an exceptional fit/feel I purchase multiples. I currently wear 608, but can no longer find them in stores.
I tried these, but they are not nearly as comfortable, feels like I am walking on concrete, not rubber.

I've been wearing New Balance shoes for twenty + years (990, 991, and 993). This is my third pair of 928's -- first pair was V2, and other two are V3. I gave the first two pairs a 5 star rating, I am my 70's and it's the best shoe I've found to help my foot pain. I've planned to keep wearing 928's indefinitely -- but.....
The tounges in the most recent pair are about 3/8 in. shorter than the last two pair, and are too short to cushion the top laces. I'm making do, but if the next pair have the same problem, I'll have to return them and search a new favorite shoe.

Have been wearing NB 900 series back to the 926. The design of the 928V3 tongue is terrible. If you try to lace the 928V3 all the way into the top - plastic enhanced - hole the result is the shoelace is exposed to the ankle instead of the tongue. Yes, I do have the laces through the slot in the tongue. I call NB Customer Service. Their response was: 1) have not heard about that problem. 2) Try a different model NB shoe.
Using the search "new balance 928v3 tongue problem" on internet will result in this same comments. Even the NB web site review of this shoe mentions the tongue on the 928V3.

I purchased these shoes (928v3s) as a potential remedy for plantar fasciitis after returning a pair of Kurus purchased for the same reason. While these shoes are very supportive and easy to walk in, they did not help my condition at all. Some other users have reported swift results using this shoe for the same medical problem. I wanted potential buyers to know the obvious, that these shoes, for that condition, are not for everybody. Otherwise, if you want a comfortable walking shoe with very firm heel support, these are worth a try. I am keeping mine for that purpose, walking.

Reasonably well-made shoes that fit my feet. That's the best I can say about New Balance offerings for 4E wide feet. I've been buying NB for years and settling for utilitarian style in the name of fit that doesn't hurt. New Balance needs to start offering their most stylish shoes in extra wide widths if you want more than 3 stars from me. I'm sick to death of boring, utilitarian shoes. I hate settling for nondescript, basic, safe designs. I bought these white shoes as a palette to create something with color and style on top of since you refuse to.

Fit was great. This shoe seems extremely well made. However I have a very high arch and the tung was too short. Dug into front of my ankle. Also this shoe was very stiff, would need to be broken in. Something I’ve never had to do with a tennis shoe.

I'm thinking this is the last time I purchase this shoe. The tongue is so short it is necessary to continuously pre-shape it to conform to foot. Alos the toe compartment has been downsized significantly over years of purchase. Disappointed to see New Balance dumb-down cheap-out design of what had been a great shoe to plain average shoe. Meanwhile seeking alternatives

Very nice workmanship on the leather uppers. The soles have a curious forward cant and collect too much street dirt for my liking but otherwise a nice shoe. Toe box is very roomy the way all NBs used to be.

Undecided about keeping the shoe since I really need an extra narrow size that does not appear to be available in this shoe.

The model is ok but could offer more support in the soles. I think I paid too much. Comfort isn't there.

I have been a fan of New balance 928's having owned a pair of version 2 and version 3. I recently ordered another pair of black/black 928 shoes and am having a problem. This shoe's toe box is lower than previous shoes. Requiring a relatively high toe box because of an orthopedic problem, the shoes do not give enough room for my toes. The width is fine, but I am trying to use a shoe stretcher to stretch the "leather" toe box.
The "leather" does not stretch and I assume that the upper is man made material rather than leather. The shoe fit was changed to give a more lower profile similar to NB 1700.
I understand nothing remains the same, but a lot of people rely on 928's for comfort. My recent purchase was a disappointment.
I'd also recommend:
I will have to try other brands that fit better

o
kay, so I bought this shoe in a wide forgetting that it was the SL2 last. I'm used to wearing wide shoes so that was not the problem. The SL2 last however makes my heel slip and I'm developing calluses and a sore on the inside part of my heel. Probably should have sent the shoes back from the beginning. But I bought them and actually didn't wear them for two to three months 0. Anyway, learn from my mistake the SL2 last probably would have been just enough I really didn't need the extra width

Bought for my husband having foot issues. He walks over 6000 steps a day. Needs more cushion. Has extra wide feet. Shoes rub across his toes if he tries to put an orthotic inside. Thinking of returning. Also, these were pretty pricey. Wish they felt better

I'm ambivalent about the 928. As I've grown older, my feet have grown. I've been wearing the 620 series size 13 for years, but finally I realized I needed a larger size. I got the size 14. The 928 is heavier and, because of the leather (I assume), stiffer, so I'm still working them in. Also, because of a bunion on the small toe side of my foot, I wear an insert. At first, I thought they wouldn't work, but after a few days walking they are better. Still, I'm starting to think I should have bought the 623. It's cheaper and lighter. I wish NB sold a 13.5 shoe.

The shoe was recommended on a site rating shoes for diabetics. I have worn New Balance in the past so I thought I'd give it a try. The shoe was not at all comfortable, especially considering the price range.

This shoe is the only shoe I can wear due to having Charcot-Marrie-Tooth. The 928 was better than the 928v2 and 928v3. The tongue is to short and rubs my skin raw when using the top eyelits. The support is great with the roll bar. comfort is good besides my skin being ruled raw by the laces due to the tongue being to short. The best shoe I ever wore was the 1153 and would love for New Balance to remake that shoe.

when first wore them they fit great -I have 4E fit. After the first day they stretched resulting in the instep moving forward causing foot pain. Order 1/2 size smaller if you have wide feet.

I like the shoe, but if does not give me the right support that I need. It is a little better when I added arch supports that I had purchased prior to ordering these shoes. The shoe is very stable with the supports.

Decent shoe. I looks a bit "clunky." It just didn't fit me.

This NB walking shoe fit my difficult-to-fit foot (size 12-1/2 narrow) and was comfortable, but I returned the shoe because its sole is tilted across the ball of the foot. Consequently, my foot went through a rocking motion with every step that I found disturbing. I'm sure NB has a good reason for the design as they make great shoes, but this model is not to my liking.

I have been a loyal NB customer for +25 years. This was my first purchase in about four years and there has been a noticeable decline in shoe quality. The show tongue is shorter and makes shoes not fit as well. Also lower quality overall. I plan to search other brands on my next purchase.

Version3 is not as soft-stepping in the heel as Version 1 (plain 928). This is especially bad with orthotic inserts. Yes, the tongue is a bit too short now too.
