Not a very 'girly' style, but for my extra wide feet with arthritis, they are very comfortable and I can wear them all day. It's difficult for me to find comfortable shoes that are wide enough and these fit. They look fine with jeans for me, but I'm 60 years old and care about comfort over looks.

These have been my husband’s favorite casual/work shoe for many years, and when he could not find them on any of the usual websites, he was really disappointed. Fortunately, New Balance brought them back (after a change in CEO whose decision it was to no longer manufacture the shoe as we understand the situation); Yay!!Richard

The Blucher/Derby lace system nicely accommodates my custom orthotics, particularly the slightly higher foot bed used for one foot. Wide toe box prevents a sense of confinement, and the sole is surprisingly flexible right out of the box. On some surfaces there is a slight squeak.

Best walking shoes available

My husband has been wearing this model for several years. When I got him a new pair he decided I need to order another - one for his feet, and one so he won't have to do without.

This was an identical replacement pair to what I already had before. The shoe of course fit perfectly. Though my review would be more for the ideal experience with Zappos. The price was competitive, the selection was great. The shipping experience was excellent. I'll be using Zappos for all of my online shoe purchases in the future!

I have continued to purchase this model over the years because it is consistent in fit and because it wears for a long time. I walk daily and these are very comfortable for my 4 mile daily walk. I don't like walking shoes or sneakers that are too flashy so I like this style. I recommend them to anyone who wants a stable, comfortable, walking shoe.

Zappos said I needed a 10 rather than a half size smaller so I ordered both. Zappos was right. Took the other pair UPS. My refund was in my account before I got home! Great service.

OOPS, I called this an SAS shoe in my review...it is a New Balance, same style and color as his previous 'sneaker' style New Balance....seems to be his favorite in a lace up.

This is the 2nd or 3rd pair of black, SAS lace up 'sneaker' style shoes. It has become his go-to shoe, especially if he's on his feet all day or going on a trip. He generally wears a Medium, has a narrow heel, still has an arch and pretty high instep, and when striding his feet supinate (lean outward), plus his habit is to often drag his heels. This shoe does not fully correct his supination, but the shoe structure does help. It is a nice looking, sturdy shoe.

Have purchased these previously. Same fit as before.

Width 6E in NB 938v3 fits me perfectly.
