This shoe saved me while trying to recover from a foot injury, still having to spend a lot of time on my feet every day at work. The wide and tall toe box was exactly what I needed, and the black leather looks good enough to wear with business casual clothing. BAD THING is the very short tongue on the shoe...it jabs into the ankle area, and takes quite a while to get broken in and lose its stiffness. it is much shorter & awkward than tongues on other NB shoes I have had.

I would have given this shoe a 5 star rating but the tongue is NOT leather. If you pay for a leather shoe you expect the shoe to be leather, including the tongue. The black pair I purchased 3 weeks prior to making this purchase does have a leather tongue. The reason, I was told, that this pair did not have the leather tongue is for breathability. If that is true, then why does the black pair have a leather tongue? Yes, I have had discussions with New Balance about this. I find the shoes very comfortable and true to size. Recommend them if you don't mind not getting a leather tongue.

I have had the 928 series for years, and loved them. The V3 has a very short tongue, which makes it hard for me to get it straight once I put them on.

The tongue is quite puffy, and not wide enough. Rubs against my foot uncomfortably. I'm quite disappointed since New Balance is the only shoe that is narrow enough for my feet.

The TONGUE of this shoe is WAY TOO SHORT and way TOO NARROW. It slides under the laces constantly and can't be pulled out. This bunched up tongue then puts pressure on the top of the foot, moving around and causing pain. Then the laces loosen, the shoe gets loose and no longer keeps the ankle in place. The back starts sliding up and down providing no support for the ankle. This skimpy, narrow tongue is a huge design flaw in an otherwise very good shoe. It could also be softer and not so stiff. That would help also. PLEASE REDESIGN THE TONGUE. Make it bigger, wider and more comfortable!

This would be a great shoe if the tongue were a decent length. It is way too short. It slides under the laces and bunches up and I'm constantly having to try to pull it out, which is not easy. It's so short it's hard to grab it. And it doesn't stay, it slides back under again. PLEASE New Balance, add some length to the tongue!

This was not the shoe I wanted but it will do for now. The tongue bunches up under the shoestring when I tie it.

I've been buying New Balance sneakers for 20 years. It used to ve a good solid shoe, great support, comfortable. I am very disappointed that the quality is not as good as it used to be. Tge shies are stiff & support not as good as ot used to be. Disappointed

I have been purchasing the same style and size shoe for over 4 years. This time they were different. The height of the toe area is higher which makes the shoe fit looser. Also, the tongue is shorter; sometimes the shoelace, when tied, actually slips off the tongue. The shoe itself is still the most comfortable one I have found with the most support for my finicky feet, but it's definitely made at different factory or from a different pattern than before.

I have worn this shoe for walking for many years. I buy a new pair every few months because I walk a lot. The latest one was disappointing because the leather was so stiff and heavy. Previous versions were made of nice, soft leather. This latest one is made of thick, stiff leather. Disappointing.

I have owned MANY pairs of NB shoes, & my last 2 pairs were 990s. Not wanting to buy the exact same shoes over again, I bought this model (928). I wish I hadn't and wish I had sent them back! They are tighter, much stiffer, and rub on my left foot (got a big blister the first day I wore them). Am trying to break them in, but never had to do this with your other shoes or boots. Buyers remorse.

I have bought a lot of New Balance Tennis Shoes, and have normally have been happy with them. However, the tongue on the right shoe that I recently bought, is shorter than the left shoe. Therefore, I keep having to pull on the tongue.

Have worn New Balance 928 shoes for years and loved them. My new pair, however, has a design change: the tongue is no longer all leather but instead is the same hard-to-clean fabric that's also around the ankle. Dirt accumulates on the shoe tongue, and that fabric does not clean well at all. I am disappointed and will not buy this style again.

I did not have the footbed support needed for walking. I use Orthotics and need to removed the cushy insert and the basic footbed is too thin!

The shoe is well made but the box toe area is quite narrow and the entire shoe is very narrow. I have a narrow foot to begin with so I was surprised it fit so small on me. I normally a size 7 1/2 but always order 8 for extra room but even the 8 1/2 was too small for me. I may get the 9 wide. Not sure though. It is a hard shoe so it offers good support throughout but order size up or two.

These fit and are supportive and plenty of toe room but so stiff on top and all over that my sensitive feet cannot try to break them in even with custom orthotics. I need cushioning and more flexibility for comfort. Had to return.
