These are my feet's favorite shoes but they are rubbing on my 5th metatarsal head and giving me pain.

The fit and size were good. They are probably quality shoes. I did not like the way the right one felt on top; I couldn't get it to feel good on my foot. It remained too loose. Perhaps I do not need so much of an athletic shoe. I am sorry to have to return them; I am disappointed because I really liked them.
Thanks Zappos for being so easy to work with. you will continue to be my store for shoes.

I needed a shoe to walk in that would take my custom orthotics and give me support. I tried the Orthofeet shoes and find them too soft. My podiatrist recommended I try New Balance. These work fine. They are also roomy enough that I could add a layer of cushioning to help with the pain in the bottom of my feet. They do seem to be a little high on the side of the foot, which has softened with wearing. I also do not use the last lacing hole as the shoe then cuts into the top of my feet. Worth trying.

I bought these shoes because I stand on my feet for long periods at work and I really like the support they give. I do agree with the others who say that the tongue is too short. I lace my shoes up to the top eyelets and the shorter stiff tongue rubs/bumps against my ankles. I want to keep buying this shoe, so I hope something is done about need to lengthen tongue.

It is very hard to find a nice looking athletic shoe that has a FIRM sole and a rollbar. I have numerous foot problems -- achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, peroneal tendonitis, arthritis -- and I am still young-ish. But my podiatrist said to get these shoes because they have a firm sole which will take pressure off my joints and tendons and that is exactly what's happened. I am already feeling relief and can walk again without crippling pain. New Balance, PLEASE do not change the firm sole on this shoe! It has just the right amount of cushioning and firmness. I've heard rumors that a new version will be coming out with a "more flexible" sole. PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT! Flexibility is NOT what people buy this shoe for -- it's the opposite of what we need. You've got a million other styles with flexibility. Leave this one alone! (Do however, make the tongue longer and wider. It's too short and slides under the laces.)

I have worn this style for many years and find them quite comfortable. I just wish you were still selling them in blue.

I'm a mail carrier so logging a lot of miles with these. They are comfortable except for the tongue is way too short. Causes issues when it shifts into wrong spot.

I can't help but wonder why people w/foot problems are stuck with such unattractive shoes. I want shoes which look like any other sneaker. I'm sure they are fine for some, but I sure don't like the way they look. I've bought my last pair of these clodhoppers. I'm gonna get some high top sneakers and I'll deal with my foot pain with medical cannabis or something. Come on, New Balance, you can do much better!

I love the deep toe box and width these shoes have. They make my everyday walks and activity comfortable and supported. I wish the tongue of the shoe was a bit longer. It doesn't want to stay in place.

True to size with a high and large toe box. But not deep enough for my custom rigid orthotics. Heel was also a bit wider than older new balance shoes with this last. I have narrow heels but need a wider toe box, so this last usually works.

This is the only shoe I can wear over my braces. As a young woman of 33, it would be nice if you could snap up the colors and outside appearance. Consider the young folks having to wear this shoe and only choose black, white or brown.

An honest review from a mail carrier. I walk 11.5 miles a day. I typically buy the new balance postal shoes but they are not expecting to produce more until the end of the year. I wore these today on my route. Overall, they were very supportive all day. The only thing I noticed is the toebox is smaller then the postal shoes. I didn’t have time to deal with returning and playing with sizing as my previous pair of shoes were falling apart (the uppers and the soles weren’t together in places anymore) after 2k miles. I’m hoping since they’re leather, they’ll give a bit.

I love the stability of the shoe. I love the availability of extended wide widths. I dont mind paying top dollar for comfort, but do all New Balance have to be so very UGLY?

Comfortable shoe but do run small. I normally wear a 12, had to return and order size 13.

I have wore the 928v3 for years. Just got a new pair, the tongue is made to short now. What is going on, can't they leave well enough alone!

This fit was better than the Propet athletic shoes that I tried on. It had more stability for my overweight, problem feet. Width felt wonderfully comfortable
but the only problem was that the shoestring thread holes were TORN on one of the shoes! With daily and constant retying shoelaces, the shoestring holes would come looser and this expensive ($151 with tax!) would need a costly shoe repair. This is the 3rd shipment as the other sizes ordered (same as current older New Balance shoes) were way too large. New Balance apparently makes sizes totally different from previous models.

I bought both the 928v3 leather (white) and the navy suede, both 6D for women. Both are very comfortable and stable for walking. My feet don't feel tired after a whole day wear. However, I found the navy suede much roomier than the white leather, seeming 1/2 to 1 size bigger. And therefore, heavier. I still love the navy suede, esp. the color. But, I only wear it a day or two in a given week. Hope my purchase is just an abnormally. I have been a New Balance walking shoe fan all my adult life. Thanks for making such comfortable shoes!
Grateful I,

The shoe is great except for the heel and the shoe laces. I ordered a 8 Narrow because I have a very narrow heel. My heel still slips in this shoe. The style 990v5 does not slip. Perhaps it's the fact of the way the 990 is stitched in the back and not in the 928v3. I do like the stability of the 928. Also the shoe laces are too short. I am going to try to find replacement laces in dark gray to match the shoe.

Earlier this year I had purchased the same pair of NB shoes except with a slightly different style. After reading some of the more negative reviews about this latest model, I must admit I was rather hesitant to make the purchase. However, I needed some comfortable shoes for a new job, so I decided to take a chance and found that my concerns were needless. The advice to order a half-size larger than my regular size was excellent, and I've found them to be completely comfortable with no breaking-in period. The style is a bit "chunkier" than I prefer, but the shoe is lightweight and satisfies my requirements. I was also very pleased with the option to upgrade my shipping delivery service at no additional cost. As time was a critical factor for me, the fact that I received my shipment the next day thrilled me. I love doing business with you and your very helpful staff.

I have been wearing 928's for 6 years since I had a bone fracture of a toe. This shoe was recommended by the doctor. I continued using it because it gives a lot of support and it comes in double width. The color is a neutral beige. Not exciting but it matches with everything. I noticed this shoe is a little narrower than the previous model. It is fine but please do NOT continue making the toe box any tighter. I highly recommend this shoe.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance is all I wear.
