If you are sure of your shoe size, you can order with confidence knowing that your shoe will fit. I like the extra support and the shoe is still very light weight. The insole is nothing to brag about so I replace with a better one.

I have owned several pairs of these shoes and I haven't been disappointed. I'm on my feet 11 to 12 hours a day and these shoes have done well. I also add the NB men's 1200 Shoe Inserts. These add extra support for my feet. I would recommend these shoes.

Pros: Wide width fit is good. Liked non-leather and mesh(phasing out leather shoes). Liked all black color with no brightly colored or white trim–hard to find in non-leather! Cons: Seems a bit pricey for non-leather shoe. A bit stiff out of the box, but that should resolve in time. Style a bit heavier in appearance than last year's pair of NB athletic shoes. I don't disagree that quality has been decreased (shoelace holes too small) but I'm satisfied these will serve my purpose. For those with narrower feet try non-leather and mesh Fuel Core Nergize. They were definitely too short in length and narrow in width so I exchanged them. Mislabelled or style change? Kudos for relatively hassle free exchange! Style OK if you don't mind colored trim.

You ordered NB out of a runners catalogue by drawing an outline of your foot and mailing it to the factory. Have worn and enjoyed 847's since it was an 842. Need toe room. This is the shoe.

Nice fit, clean , neutral look. However, watch out for crossing oily surface. soles have slippery, ice like effect. Easy to fall.

After struggling with heel pain I tried moving up to the 800s for better support...Love these shoes!

Purchased at NB store in Lynnwood WA October 2nd this year. I really like these shoes. Comfortable, fit perfectly (8.5N (2A). BUT seam on left shoe is coming unstitched after less than two months of sporadic wear. Hopefully NB will repair or replace them.

I LOVE this versions of NB walking shoe. I've LIVED in the V2 and have had several pair. I'm a nurse on my feet for 10 hours straight 4 days a week. These shoes in V2 have never failed my feet. The V2 had true VISCO-type soft, plyable and conforming foam on the tongue and most importantly around the collar of the shoe opening that went down at least 1 1/2" into the shoe for a great supportive and soft cushion fit. This type visco-foam was what set this style apart from the lower priced options. It was great quality. Sadly, the V3 has been downgraded. The padding has been changed to a typical poly-synthetic basic foam, like some of the less expensive models. This new foam padding doesn't have nearly the heft, density and depth into the collar of the shoe as the previous model's visco-foam type padding. It's really disappointing. they still have V2 remaining. I may just get another pair or two of them before their gone and I have no option but to buy this V3 OR wait for V4 where there's hope they'll bring back the better foam. Overall the shoe feels the same in size and footbed comfort. I just adored the way the cisco-type foam would really hug the area above each side of my ankle. It WAS like clouds.

I ordered size 9.5D, same as my 1540V2s however, these shoes were 1/2 inch longer from heel to toe than the 1540s.

HOWEVER IT IS NOT AVAILABLE!! I ordered a size 7.5 of style 847 version 3 but it has been discontinued and I received 847 version 4, the revised replacement. I have returned this product because it is not the same fit as 847v3 and the flat shoestrings do not work well in the small ROUND holes. Both coloring and construction have changed. I am very disappointed and will have to shop elsewhere for my walking shoes.

I bought this sneaker because of the color and style. The fit was good but the interior lining was uncomfortable especially around the toes.

The right shoe didn't fit properly. Wanted to exchange but on line only option was to return or buy again. Just returned since I wasn't able to take advantage of 30% off promotion.

I have a wide foot and have bought wide New Balance shoes before. However these are too big and my foot slides around in them. I'll have to return them and try something else.

The shoes may be good on others but it felt a little hard on my feet. Sorry but I had to return it.

My legs are tired after walking in the 847 compared to the 840...perhaps because the innersole is so squissy

I bought these for walking sneakers. At first, not comfortable but have been consistent with wearing them and they are feeling better.

I have the 1540 V2 in 11 and 4e. They were wide and feel perfect in the width. The 847V3 are narrow. They look narrow right out of the box. I am considering returning them and getting a 6e instead. They feel light, but they do look dated. Think about dad pants in the 80's that go with them.

They do not look like the picture...they have a more orthopedic look and feel compared to other New Balance sneakers than I've. They have no "give" despite being worn frequently. I was really disappointed especially for the price I paid and don't think I will order shoes online again.

I will continue to ask that New Balance goes back to making the version #2. It was much more comfortable!

I ordered 10.5 wide width. I like the large toe box because it does not rub my bunyan or pinch my toes. It is comfortable while walking but it is a very stiff shoe. I thought it would be made of leather but it is mostly canvas. I find it to be over priced.

My husband's favorites were the 857's dark grey suede - not available in 13 6E or not making them anymore. These are just OK. Good Looking. Fit is good. Other NB he liked was 1540 V2 - I just didn't think they were very good looking. He thought they looked fine.

I've bought NB shoes for years. I try to buy the American made models. These are flimsy. The body of the shoe is weak. The shoes squeak. I'm let down for the first time by New Balance.

I really wanted to love these but they just weren't as comfortable as other NB I've worn. Love the wide toe box, but they were a little narrow across the instep and somehow also too wide. Just didn't work for me.

Selected the wrong size as the second toe on my left foot touches the front of the shoe when I'm walking my two miles in the morning and it hurts. Couldn't walk in shoe inside the store as had to try on shoe outside the store due to virus and couldn't walk around.
