I have been wearing this shoe for about a week hoping it would break in and start to feel better but it isn't. These shoes run smaller than expected and my big toe is cramped at the end of the shoe. Buy the next size up if you buy these shoes. I only buy New Balance as I do have a wide foot but this shoe doesn't work for me.

I work at a fish taco shop/bar & I have a pretty big shoe size (15s) & I order New Balances online because I know how they fit. Well, this is the second New Balance shoe I've ordered that upon trying on, they seemed alright. However, when wearing them out & about, aka, being on my feet for hours at my service industry job, I had realized they were slightly too big, & crazy heavy! It takes effort lifting my legs to take steps. It's basically a semi-heavy-duty work boot disguised a sneaker. My feet are already big & this shoe makes them more conspicuous & cumbersome, but I've already worn them to work, so it's too late to refund them now, but I would say it's not New Balance's fault. I should have figured with the description, that this was a very heavy duty shoe. Next time I'll just stick to the 806's. Those shoes are practically perfect. I just wish they had a little more padding, or protection throughout. Dropping a beer keg on your foot is not fun.

My Normal show size is 9 so ordered a 9 1/2 as you did not offer a 100 0r 10 1/2 and of course it was too small as your shoes normally run small. so waiting to be offered the right size composite toe size 10 1/2.. to try them out..

Very stiff and a little heaver than I excepted. I returned the 589v1 and went back to my old safety toe shoes.

I love the look of these shoes and was looking forward to having a comfortable shoe for work. I am a quality engineer working for a contract manufacturer of electronic circuit boards. I was extremely disappointed to find the design and construction of this shoe is to meet the electrical hazard portion of the standard rather than the static dissipation requirements as stated in the description of the shoe. The shoe is also labeled as EH rather than SD. Returned for refund.

The fit and finish on this was so bad, that I couldn't get them on, within minutes of trying to lace them up (which you can barely do, because the eyelets were not properly aligned), I simply put them back into the box, printed out an RMA Label, and posted them back the same day they arrived. Adding insult to injury is the discontinuance of the 993 series, which was one of the bestselling shoes under the brand, because they were made in America. I will no longer wear NewBalance, and I've also considered discarding the shoes under this brand I do have, as I can no longer support a brand that could put forward such an utter failure in design, construction and delivery ( not to mention the customer service rep on the phone that got me so upset, that I just told them I was ending the call, and will never buy NewBalance again. It was a good 40 years of wearing good shoes, but whoever is running NewBalance now has decided to destroy their own brand. I'll miss what once was. The shoes were confirmed as having made it back to the company, and will need to wait up to a month for them to process the refund. Everyone else can do this upon delivery to their return site. I guess they need to leverage that cash on float for the 21 days it takes...hopefully the refund shows up.

This is the fourth time I have purchased a composite toe shoe, changing the size each time I cannot find any matching my feet. This is incredibly frustrating as I have to order this through the mail come and get them sent to my house, try them on, they don't fit, then return them, and try again over and over and over. I'm so over this

These shoes hurt the heck out of my soles, make my shins feel sore and legs work more. The soles feel almost non existent especially when you're walking on concrete floors. Im sure they are better rhan some out there but man, these are rough, need more support/shock absorbtion for feet.

I tried them on and immediately took them off. The footbed wasn't flat, it was like the sides of my feet were on the sides of a canyon.

Wore the shoe for less than 5 minutes to try them on and my foot hurt the rest of the day. It feels like they took a normal shoe and crammed a composite toe cap inside causing to toe box to be too small in both width and height. The open end of the toe cap dug into the top of my foot. These shoes will be returned.

This is my fourth pair of 589's and for whatever reason the toes are tight in one of the shoes and making them unbearable to wear.

The item is not true to size. I picked a 7 and I’m not sure what I even received is considered a 7, it was huge.

I tried the shoe for a day and discovered that the back of the shoe tilts to far inward and causes friction above the heel.

I'm on my feet and moving 10 hrs a day. Have worn these shoes 3 times since they arrived. Could not wait to take them off. They are heavy. They run large in toe and heel. My feet slide around in them all day. A very expensive mistake. Take a pass on these

The insoles that come with this "work shoe" are paper thin, and there is absolutely zero arch support. And when I bought new insoles to put in, there is a weird bump under the toes, I am assuming due to the composite toe, that the new insoles couldn't overcome and made these shoes actively hurt my feet. Worst pair of shoes I have ever owned, but now I cannot return them.

These shoes are like wearing a brick on your foot. Doesn't feel like there's any padding in the toe area. I work on hard concrete for 10 hours a day. These are hard as a rock. Sent them back.

I would not buy these work sneakers again I was told they are very comfortable to wear. I walk a average of 9 miles a night at my job I wore the sneakers for a week and my feet killed me by the end of every night to the point that I had to remove the shoes and walk back to the locker room to put on my regular sneakers Not a comfortable shoe wish I could return them for a refund!!!!
