I loved these the moment I put them on. I have numerous foot problems: plantar fasciitis, morton's neuroma, arthritis, neuropathy, hammertoe, metatarsalgia, and hallux limitus on my right foot that led to very painful capsulitis.
I'm not a runner. I cross train, sprint, do bodyweight HIIT, kettlebells, boot camp classes, and walk about 13,500 steps a day. My podiatrist said I need a shoe with a roomy toebox, a front rocker, lots of cushioning, and a stiff forefoot to keep my toes from bending (which is pretty impossible when doing push-ups, plank, lunges, etc.). I tried a few Hoka models for the rocker and cushioning, but they were very squishy, not supportive enough, and there is no way I could engage in lateral movements safely. I also have a bad back (serious trauma years ago) and the differential between heel and forefoot aggravated my injuries and put additional pressure on my toes and forefoot.
My spine and hips love zero drop shoes, so I tried on a few Altra models. The Escalante and Intuition were very comfortable but too flexible in the forefoot. If you can bend your toes without pain, they'd be a dream. The Torin was PERFECT for me! Stiffer forefoot with slipper soft top, room to wiggle my toes and and allow them to spread naturally while striding, wonderful plushness without a marshmallowy, unstable feel, lightweight yet supportive for lateral movements, and styled so my feet don't look like tugboats (hello Hoka). I still struggle to do moves that require pressure on my toes, but that's because of my foot conditions. My feet are so happy when I'm just walking/sprinting or moving laterally - anything but bending my toes in planks and push-ups, etc. My toes and forefeet are cushioned with room to move and wiggle around, my custom orthotics fit in just fine, and my feet sit in deep enough that the shoe feels like an extension of my body, even though it doesn't look like a deep shoe. They are so well designed and natural feeling that I'm back to buy more, because I'm sure they'll change the design at some point.

I found Altra 2 years ago and instantly fell in love. My first pair of Torin's was what enabled me to continue running. I was a collegiate runner and suffered from sesamoiditis, which forced me to stop running. I spent so much money trying to figure out how to fix the problem and nothing worked until I slipped on a pair of Torins. The zero drop and foot shaped toe box let my toes splay and alleviated the pressure that elevated shoes put on my sesamoid. The cushion of the Torins also helped absorb some of the shock from my foot strike. Long story short, these shoes have enable me to continue running! This new version 3 is my favorite model. It has all the same comfort and perfit fit, but it finally looks great. Altra has always made shoes that look a little weird, but these are super cute. I couldn't recommend a better shoe or a better brand. They are incredible!

The bottoms of my feet are super boney. These shoes are lovely, just not enough cushioning for me.

For the first month these were great but as they became broken in the plasticy material on the toe box became wrinkled and is uncomfortable. Back to my intuitions. Really wanted a max cushion shoe.

I haven’t ran in these yet but these have been great for high impact activities so far! Typically my arches will burn with high impact or nimble, fast footwork and I haven’t had an issue with my arches and these shoes so far! I’ve worn many great brands of athletic shoes and Altra just may be my new holy grail!

Sadly, the extra wide toe box didn't work for my Powerstep Pinnacle insert, which I really need, so, these will go back. They're really cute and have lots of cushion. If you don't need an insert, they'd be great!

Ordered the Paradigm first which were too short and then the torin in a half size larger but they were way too long. Had to reorder paradigms in a size larger and they fit . None of Altra shoes are true to size

I was intrigued and impressed with the wider toe box. I struggle with my toe nails and blisters under my toe nail beds after long runs of 10+ miles. Was hoping this shoe would help. Unfortunately not nearly enough arch support for my high arches.

Amazing shoes! I have an osteochondral defect with hallux rigidus and these are GREAT. No pain after jogging/walking at ALL.

Wow. I've been trying for years to find running shoes that would work for my Morton's neuroma, in which any pressure around the toes—i.e. toes touching the sides of shoes—inflames. My feet aren't particularly wide, so wide shoes feel clunky and giant. These are dreamy: fitted in the heel, wide and lovely in the front with plenty of space for toes to spread out. Light enough for running, stable enough for cross-training. Thank you, Altra!

This shoe fits my narrow foot even better that the Lonw Peak. It is a tiny bit shorter as well.

First of all, even though I am giving these 5 stars overall, I can't wear them, my feet are too wide. These are medium but they "looked wide" on my co-workers feet, I thought I would try them. My coworkers love them. Looking wide doesn't work for me. These are just adorable shoes, so light weight and kinda funny looking and should be so comfortable. I am so sorry I can't wear them.

Supportive shoe with lots of room in the toe box (although the "duck" shape could take some getting used to aesthetically). I ordered several different brands to compare. Ultimately, the Altra is more expensive and more high-tech than my daily walks require.

Just enough cushion with the right amount of firmness and responsiveness for running. I find the fit to be better than the previous 2.5 model, and the upper is definitely more flexible. Great improvements overall, have used these for both speedy runs and long runs. They'll hold up well I can tell.

The Altra Torin 3.0 is awesome! I noticed that the upper is more breathable than before and the outsole is more flexible and moves with my foot. Otherwise, the FootShape, Zero Drop design is the same comfy, natural fit. I also love that Altra makes shoes specifically for women's feet! It shows in this model for sure and fits my foot perfectly.

I love this shoe! It's so soft (especially in the forefoot) and responsive. It fits really nicely along the heel and the arch but is wide open in the toe box so that my toes are squished or pinched. I've owned a couple of pairs of previous versions of the Torin and this is my favorite by FAR! Yay, Altra!

This shoe has a very wide, rounded toe box. I ordered 1/2 size larger to accommodate my prescription orthotics, but overall it was too big a shoe.

I wear an 11M. These ran narrow for me. Because of foot surgery and swelling I have been wearing the same shoe but in men's. They are very comfy, but if it's raining your feet and socks get wet.

I have owned this shoe but in the purple. I ordered this color to change it up, but the grey is super shiny. I didn't love the color to start, but the shininess of the grey across the toe was too much for me. They're going back for looks alone.

I have worn and loved Altra Torins for a few years, but wasn't able to wear this version. The toe-box felt more constricted (both narrower and lower) than that of the Torin 2.5. The upper material put uncomfortable pressure on the top of my big toe.

Seem a little heavy and small (even though I ordered up a size) I am nt sure this is the brand for me, but I must say they are stylish and very well made.

Should have exchanged for a full size up. When I first tried them on I felt that they were a tad smaller then I would normally like but kept them anyway. Once I started to use them at the gym the size became a huge issue. I couldn’t jog on the treadmill without slamming my toes into the front. I straight up had to take them off midway through a strength training mixed cardio class.

Too short and too narrow. I normally wear a 10, and these were a 10.5. The look is great, though.

These are my favorite sneakers ever. I have 2 pair and am considering a third! I never want to take them off.
