The arch is too far back for my foot. Ran a 5k and my foot was tingling. I don't like the color coral blue/ceramic at all. I don't like being taller and it looks like have a huge foot because they are so big.

Loved, loved, loved the Clifton 3. Now have the 4, and while it's okay, it's NOTHING likes it's predecessor. Please bring back the Clifton 3 - even if in limited colors. (Pleading!)

I have had the Cliffton 2 and 3 and loved them. Tried the 4 and they are small in the toe box and run shorter. Needless to say I did not buy the 4. Very disappointed:(

In hindsight, I should have stocked up on the v1s. They were the perfect trainer. No other shoe on the market then or since has come close to the cushioning and the weight. I put over 700 miles on that pair long after they started to flatten out because v2 just wasn't the same. With some blister pads added to the medial sides of the v3s, they were my next favorite pair. Still light-ish and good soft cushioning. But the v4s.....UGH. They are nothing like the Clifton a lot of people have come to love. Light? Nope. Soft? Nope. Roomy? Nope. Instead, they are stiff, firm, heavy and instable. The arch is too high and the blister factor is still real. I'm really disappointed that I can't have the Clifton as my reliable Long Slow Distance trainer anymore.

I was very excited to hear Clifton 4 was getting a mesh upper, because my issue has usually been the width of the toebox. Clifton 3 was not horrible (Clifton 1 was the worst), but I was hoping for even better and mesh upper sounded very promising. It felt good wearing it initially, toes could expand more comfortably, but 3 miles into my first run, I felt the inner edge jamming into my arch. See the image of the mark it left on my foot, which hasn't faded even 8 hours later. This is guaranteed to turn into a blister next time I wear these. The same happened to me with the Infinite. Why oh why did HOKA have to mess with this shoe so much.

I was looking forward to the new version 4 with some caution and was right. The forefoot has been narrowed leaving me once again on the sidelines with this company. I supinate, have high arches, rigid feet and need the forefoot room for my toes to splay. The narrowing of the shoe and the new materials used on the lateral side of the shoe cause fricition within minutes of putting on the shoe--no need to take them home to test. Why do these companies continue to change shoes and a good thing?!!!!!! It is a miracle when I can find a shoe to run in and now I'm back to square one!!! I see that Hoka is offering a wide width however if you are a Hoka Customer in Canada you are out of luck. Will have to try and purchase a few extra pairs of the Clifton 3 while I can. HUGE SIGH x 1000!!!!

I love, love, love the Clifton 3s. They're the best shoes ever. I expected to love the Clifton 4s, but the midfoot is horrible. It jabs into my arches and also makes me feel really wobbly and unstable, like I'm on a rocker board or something. Sent them back. Buying what 3s I can find until hopefully you guys get rid of the weird midfoot rocker panel or whatever it is.

Love the feel of these shoes but something is definitely off with the height of the left one versus the right. I recently started wearing them for light road runs, and quickly felt something was really off. Otherwise so comfortable. Super bummed. I am writing this review because unfortunately I bought them 18 months ago, didn’t use until last month when my other road shoes wore out, so I can no longer return them. Just FYI try them within the return period in case they are inconsistent. I loved multiple pairs of my trail Hokas and wanted to love these, but it’s not worth getting injured over a height disparity issue.

This shoe felt great. Still does! But I am injured from wearing them. BE CAREFUL. They feel great, and seem to cushion you from the hard surface, but they position your foot in such a way that puts stress on bones and joints, and you don't realize it. I have run my entire life on ASICS. Decided to try the Hokas and am now on crutches. Stress fracture of the tibia.

These shoes felt great for the first few days but after 1 1/2 months of wearing them, walking 3-4 miles a day my feet are killing me. No heel support. What a waste of money-I had an older model of Hokas and loved them but something has changed with this model. Wish I could return them!

This shoe doesn't feel good on my feet. The way the heel hits the ground when I walk feels awkward and I think the rocker style bottom stresses my back. Admittedly, I have back and feet issues and both are very sensitive. I was looking for a very cushioned sole to help with both, but this type of shoe doesn't work for me. I hope it does for you.

I'm very frustrated; beware! I ordered these in Women's 8.5 and they shipped me Men's! I definitely want the Women's shoes but can't order again because I don't want Men's again. And now I have to go to the trouble to send them back.... very frustrating, so be warned--you may not be getting what you think you are!

These sneakers are very comfortable and fit great; however, when walking there is a squeaking noise that seems to be coming from the arch support area. I was hoping it would go away but it got worse. :-( Maybe it is just a defect on this particular pair of sneakers but it is too loud for me to keep them.

This is the worst Hoka I have ever ordered. Have been wearing Clifton’s for years and other Hoka styles as well but the quality of their shoes has definitely declined. Used to put a pair on a be walking in clouds...but no more. This Clifton was a bit more narrow with an insole that does not fit properly. Gave me blisters along the edge of each heel...very painful. Most importantly it does not support the neutral step that it is designed for. Had to go to Bondi, which are comfortable but had similar insole issue. The quality of this company has definitely changed over the years nd not for the better. So disappointed. Good color tho.

My first ones felt great, these feel like they were sewn wrong or poorly I can't quite explain but I can't wait to take them off after just walking around the house in them. I put on the old hokas and I'm relieved. It's a quality issue from the shoe I believe but I can't pinpoint it. I thought I was helping myself by purchasing online. I was wrong.

It was so narrow - it absolutely killed my feet. It squeezed the sides of my feet in so much. I have a normal width foot so it was very surprising.

I bought this shoe due to recent diagnosis of heel spurs. I chose the Clifton based on a referral from a friend who also has heel spurs. My friend has the Clifton 2. The arch support in this shoe (Clifton 4) is too far back hitting my foot "behind" my arch. It is very uncomfortable even for walking. The inside bottoms of the shoe are hard and inflexible. Not sure if this is required for plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. I guess I will NOT find out as I am returning due to discomfort for "ill" placed arch supports. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed. After reading many customer reviews, I hope HOKA listens and revise this shoe to be more like versions 2 and 3. For now, I guess I have to continue shopping for a shoe that will work!

I wanted to love these but after 20 minutes on my feet, they hurt so bad. I have high arches and the arches in these were too high for me - and seemed to come all the way into the heel area.

Ok. I really wanted to like these shoes. I need a plush, soft shoe to protect my leg, ankle and foot the has alot of hardware in them! The Bondi 5s are great, but Hoka is discontinuing them. So I went on a quest for some other shoe to wear. I even need to wear soft, supportive shoes in the house, not slippers. We have a shoe-less house, so I need a pair to wear just in the house. I thought these were the pair! They felt great at first! I wore them for a day in my house and one of them, the right one, deflated so much that there is a discernible difference in the height of the shoes. I tried to correct this with my orthotics and still the same awkward and near painful feeling, my left hip pushed upward by unbalanced shoes. I dont; need any more insult to my injuries! Back they go!

I was very disappointed in this new upgrade of the Clifton 4. It is narrower than the Clifton 2 and 3 and for some odd reason I feel that the meta-rocker was slightly more aggressive than the previous models. Whenever I run in these, my achilles tendon in both legs hurt for days. I've never had this problem with any of my Hoka shoes. The cushioning is good, but this model update was not for me.

Yikes!! I bought the Clifton 4 after loving the 2 and the 3, and this version should be given a different name: it's much more like a standard non-Hoka running shoe, and much, much less cushiony than the earlier Clifton models. Those past incarnations fixed my plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendon issues, but one 7-mile run in the 4, and the pain was back. My forefoot hurt too, which is not something I usually have trouble with. And even though I have plenty of room at the top, my middle- and ring-toes were numb after a couple of miles. I bought a pair of Bondi 5s, hoping to find something closer to the pillowy Cliftons, but those feel TOO squishy and the toe box is way too wide. Now I've got $280 worth of brand-new running shoes that I can't run in. Please consider restoring the dreamy cushion when you're working on the next iteration of Cliftons! Thanks!

Absolutely awful compared to the 3. Please bring back the 3 design with all its glorious cushion. My left toe is still throbbing from tonight's run in the 4. I will be exchanging.

I wanted to love these shoes. However, after a month of owning them, the fabric and the sole started to separate. I tried on several occasions to get a response from Hoka One One and got nothing. I'm incredibly disappointed that I've spent so much money on a shoe that is clearly not made to last. They do have a nice cushion, but it takes some getting used to and don't feel as responsive as other shoes I've run in. My run feels sloppier.

I learned about Hoka last summer and when I tried on the Clifton 3 I was thrilled by everything about them: the fit, the light weight, the cushioning, the support; LOVED the large tie box! I wanted to love the 4's but I'm returning them. The toe box is narrow and hurts my toes...it's nothing like the 3's. PLEASE bring back Clifton 3!!
