I have been a runner for many years, and due to arthritic foot issues, my podiatrist recommended Hoka shoes. I tried them, loved them, and my foot pain went away. HOWEVER, after only 2 months of running, the soles are starting to peel away. My previous brand of Aasics shoes would last at least twice that long, and cost much less. I'm on the fence as to whether I'll repurchase the Hokas. They do feel good on my feet, but $148 ever eight weeks seems a little ridiculous to me.

Yet another Hoka that has too narrow of a toebox for me. I'm a runner that has run thousands of miles over the years, and I need room for toe splay when I run. Hoka's used to have a toebox that allowed this, but it seems like they are getting away from that, which is making me have to go to other brands. I am going to try the new Torrent, and am hoping that maybe they will be the trail shoe that will work for me.

I was hoping I would love these shoes Bc I tried a pair on in store and loved them. The ones I tried on were extremely comfortable but I think I went wrong by getting the trail version. They seem to be more stiff and don't have near the amount of cushion as the ones I tried on in store. I mainly use these at work (I work in radiology at a hospital). Unfortunately, I'm past my 30 day return policy or I would've exchanged for a different style.

I'd read such good reviews, I was really hoping to love this shoe, but it was so awful I had to cut my run short and turn around after only 1 mile in them! There's arch support, but it's WAY too far forward - it was pressing into the balls of my feet as I ran. Also, the laces were ridiculously short - I'm a ladies' size 10, and it's like they gave me the laces that go with the size 2s. I literally has 3" of lace to tie the shoe with. Not the quality I'm used to from my Hokas. Back they go.

Can't give too much feedback because I only did 3 runs in them. Shoes are way too narrow and totally crushed my feet and cramped my toes. I would consider my feet average width - I don't wear any wide shoes. It's the number one complaint I hear about Hoka from athletes on the trails. I personally like a more cushioned sock on the trail, especially in winter and these did not even work with my thinnest summer socks. Cushioning seems adequate and traction was decent but not great on sloppy trails but not too many shoes are. Have tried several different trail shoes from Hoka and unfortunately, I will have to move on to another brand since the design team is unwilling to listen to all the negative feedback about their shoes being too narrow. If Hoka would just open up the toe box a little, they would be the best brand out there hands down.

Tight across top of foot. Was looking for a trail shoe so I purchased based on Mag review. Top Choice????? Nothing was stated about tight fit. Shoelaces barely tie.

Put these on and walked around the house. The toe box was so narrow it hurt my feet just sitting on the couch. Going to have to return them. Very disappointed because it is a beautiful shoe with great tread.

I understand everyone's feet are different to some degree. For me these shoes seemed really snug when I first put them on. After my first run my toes were trashed, specifically my pinky toe. My forefoot just didn't have enough room. I was able to fix this problem by using hoka's super thin semi-compression socks. While they fixed my toe box issue they induced another. because the socks were so thin the top of my foot got bruised by the laces. Had the tongue been a little more padded they would have worked with thin socks. I tried loosening them to alleviate the pressure of the laces on the top of my foot but then my foot would slide to far forward into the front of the shoe. Maybe sizing up would fix these problems but i had the recommended thumb width gap between my toes and the front of the shoe. I also had some tearing by the pinky toe on the outside of the shoe and the front toe guard began separating. I put 62 miles on them. I did love the meta rocker and the vibram mega grip outsole was spot on.

This is a question of a quality control problem. I purchased the Speedgoat 1 in a size 8: they were too big and were visibly more than a half size larger than my Saucony size 8. I tried using a thicker sock, but they were just too big and my feet slid around. I then ordered the Speedgoat 1 in a 7.5; they were visibly the same size as the size 8, and fit exactly the same. Also: one shoe had a defect, which caused pain with every step - it felt like where was a bar or stick across the shoe under the instep. I took the shoe off and visually inspected it - the sole of the shoe was off center. I read a lot of Feedback regarding the Speedgoat which indicated it ran slightly small because of the toe. I run and hike in size 8, but my every day shoes are size 7 or 7.5, so I ordered the 8, then the 7.5, but both were the same size. It's too bad because the shoe (3 of the four shoes I tried) seemed comfortable and had great grip for hiking/running Arizona rock (on Camelback).

Had been waiting for V2 since it was announced it would be wider than V1. Still needs to be wider or at least have a wide option available like the Clifton 4.

I wish Hoka would offer a trail shoe in wide width. These squeezed my wide feet so tight, they had to be retuned.

Was hoping this could be a replacement for my Hoka ATR 1 shoes I have been using for trails. Needed something with more traction and the Speedgoat 2 seemed like a good option. Did not purchase the 1st version as I had heard they were too narrow, 2nd version was supposed to have fixed this. I have purchased multiple Hoka shoes ( ATR 1, Clifton 1, 2 & 3, Clayton 1 & 2 ) and have always worn a size 14. The Speedgoat 2 seemed to fit more like a size 12 . Too narrow and length was too short . Received them today, sending back tomorrow.

I am a lite runner, about twelve trail miles a week. I bought these because I had done some research online and most of the reviews were good for these shoes based on the issues I was having; Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis. They felt pretty comfortable at first, however, after running for a few weeks the heel cup felt really low and and my feet started to slide toward the outside a lot causing ankle pain. I would not recommend these shoes to anyone, especially based on the price.

I was in GRAVE pain after going for a walk in these shoes!!! Burning sensation all over my feet! Shins were throbbing!!! A lot of money for a shoe that can't hold up for walking! EXTREMELY disappointing!!!

Decided to try something new. Purchased these for trail running. I've never owned a pair of running shoes that end up having so many holes. Cannot wear anymore because my entire foot come out of the shoe. I wish there was a spot for pictures. Not worth the money

Due to excessive ground clearance, you tend to stumble on roots and rocks. Tends to wear you down over long distances.

I bought the Speedgoat 2 from HokaONEONE online store, I really like Hoka shoes because of their cushioning but honestly I am EXTREMELY UNHAPPY with durability, I wish I could post photos to this review because the back part of the outsole of BOTH SHOES almost completely tore away in the middle of a race and the worst news is that I bought these shoes 7 months ago and ran in them less than 100 miles because I was using them only for races (3 races total). I've never experienced such a poor durabiity with ANY other brand!!!!

Too much ground clearance and hence lack of stability for safe jogging on moderate to heavily rugged trails. You are liable to fall sooner or later, while inevitably hitting protruding roots, small or medium sized rocks, etc. that you fail to notice or can't clear safely. Definitely not a safe shoe in that department. Feels much heavier than the sub 10 oz. category indicated here. You get prematurely tired hiking in them for say 6 miles even.

These are just about the ugliest clown shoes I've ever put on. That and there is basically little to no arch support. Back they go.

This shoe is way too narrow in the toe box. Had to return. If 'size' means length, then that part is fine. But the width is for a narrow forefoot.

I have been a trail runner for 20+ years. I read great things about Hoka shoes and decided to try them. I ran in then 2 times and it was painful. First run, the bottom of my feet burned. Second run, my feet burned and were covered in blisters. I cut my fun 3 miles short because of the pain. I will never put these torture chambers on my feet again

I purchased the Goats as I was speaking to a supervisor during an exchange. The Cavu & Elevon I purchased 2 and 3 months prior needed to be replaced due to excessive wear. The shoes are awesome yet they have already shown extreme signs of wear from just a month. My experience greatly sucked from the last exchange process and I don't want to deal with the customer service again. I would rather take my brand loyalty somewhere else. Love the shoes BTW , all 3 worn out pairs.

Originally ordered shoe were too small - I ordered size US 11 as per the recommended true fit and I even tested another Hoka one one type in the local store - US 11 fit me just great, but this one was definitely too small, without any question. I've triggered an exchange and now after a week when the returned product has been delivered back to the Hoka facility and no updates on my case I've called the customer service - only to find out that they are out almost all the color combinations and that they initiated a refund - completely without any notification to myself or updates to the open exchange case. Now the remaining color combination are really not attractive to me, so I might need to look for running shoe elsewhere. Simply a bummer.
