As a graduate student, I constantly have to balance the need to lug around reams of paper or heavy textbooks and projecting a professional and put-together experience. This bag does exactly that. Marrying durable materials with a classy presentation is a recipe for success for any professional with a career where a dainty or "strictly for style" briefcase is not enough. Without being bulky or obtrusive, I can easily carry my laptop, iPad, Kindle, several moleskine notebooks (both large and medium sizes) as well as chargers and cables for the lot of it. Even at times where I've had to lug a textbook somewhere (rare, but unavoidable) has been handled seamlessly without sacrificing comfort or presentation. As a student and eventual professional, I could not ask for a better bag. It's even allowed me to ditch my bulky backpack for everyday use.

I received the Timbuk2 The Closer Case as a sample to review. I liked this case because it exactly what I expected it to be upon reading the original description. It's a nice size bag for carrying your laptop, tablet, e-reader, and other thin electronic devices, while doubling as a great briefcase style bag for work or class. I love the strap as well and was happy with the solid black color which is classic and complementary to many outfits and events.

The Closer Case doesn't compare in quality to other products I have seen and used in the past. This bag is VERY well made. I would def continue to purchase these bags in the future and let others know the same. If you want a quality bag with no flaws and that will last for years to come, this is the bag for you! I had never heard of this bag before. I will never forget about this name and bag again.

The Closer Case carries all the cords and tech that I need for business. Easily has enough room to replace my tote bag. It has enough pockets to stash cables, wireless mouse, tablet and laptop. I have enough room for cell phone, umbrella and anything else I might need for the day. It has a slim design but is still roomy enough to carry on a daily basis. It has a handle and strap for easy carrying, depending on if you'd like to wear the bag across the shoulder (includes stability strap for biking), or on one shoulder like a messenger bag, or just carry it like a briefcase. I think this bag is very versatile for multiple needs.

This bag is great- very sleek and spacious. Perfect for the daily commute to work, fitting just about everything: phone, laptop, wallet, headphones, papers, etc. This bag is an optimal size - not too big ,not too small.. It will come in handy when I travel in the future as well. Looking forward to getting a lot of use out of it!

for the most part i love this bag. my only complaint is that the shoulder strap pad thingy doesn't have any grippy material on it, so it slides off my shoulder when i'm wearing my winter coats (puffy/athletic style coats). otherwise it's great

This is the second Timbuk2 bag I have owned. It has the high build quality and good looks that the brand is known for; the only downside is that it has only one pocket reachable outside the main compartment whereas my first bag had three of different sizes.

The quality of the bag seems great, but as a longtime Timbuk2 customer, I was disappointed to find the strap was both narrower and shorter than my past two Timbuk2 messenger bags. As a result, the bag hung at my waist instead of my hip, and the thinner strap doesn't seem like it will be as comfortable on the shoulder as the old 2" wide strap. Luckily the straps to my old bags are still in good shape, so I just swapped them, but if I didn't have that option I would have been pretty bummed.

Love this bag (so far), only having had it a couple of weeks. I do wish it had a couple of smaller pockets for smaller items, but other than that quibble I'm happy with its comfort, style, and overall design.

Very well made. Measurements were accurate however, it was not as expandable as I thought given my experience with Timbuk2 messenger bags. Ended up creating a custom Messenger bag to fit my needs.

I'm currently using this bag and really enjoying it so far. Stylish and easily meeting my needs. As far as constructive criticism, the front straps are loose and when I walk they bounce making noise. I had to makeshift something to hold them down because this was louder than I like to be throughout my day. If I hadn't bought online, it would be the difference between buying this and another bag.

everything is as advertised. it works great but the only small complaint is no pen holder in the smaller front pocket. another minor thing i wished was different was the 2 pockets infront of the main laptop sleeve, if the left pocket was 2cm larger than i could have a designated sleeve for it instead of putting it in the right pocket where there is some wiggle room. but that is a one off case where it probably only affects me.

The bag is exactly what I needed. Fit a 15 inch laptop, plus an IPad with accessories. Fells comfortable, extra pockets on both sides. Fits my keys and water bottle to boot.

I am very pleased with my new briefcase. I particularly like the selection of interior and exterior pockets and dividers. The overall design and quality of the construction appears extremely solid and durable. I use the exterior water bottle pocket to hold a small collapsible umbrella, and I have small items inside secured in some 1 pt. ziploc bags. Unlike a solid briefcase, I find that the Eco Black Deluxe will not stand up on its own if I set it down momentarily, like at a sales counter or TSA checkpoint: I have to lean it against something or put it on a flat surface. Figuring out a way to stiffen the base would help in my typical usage.

Great for a more fashionable swap out for a laptop bag. High quality and like the outside pocket for putting phone in during security check.

Has a great fit and feel for me. However, my 15" work laptop is a tight fit in the zippered laptop sleeve. If I had to change anything, it'd be to add 1/4" or so to the zipper.

I work a lot from the road and this really keeps the essentials in place. The extra pocket/luggage pass through is really handy. I also like being able to lock down the Velcro. My last Timbuktu had Velcro under the flap and it tore up a lot of sweaters.

We'll constructed and lots of options for organizing everything without being overwhelming or redundant. My 15" laptop doesn't fit in the laptop compartment, so I have to adjust for that. The chest strap could be beefier or better positioned for actual bike riding stability. Overall I am happy with the product.

This is a nice bag but a little smaller than I had thought so if I had to do again, I would have gotten a larger size bad. I liked the previous designs better as I found the pockets to be more useful and better organized but the new bag is nice too. I miss the airport security zipper pocket.

My primary work commuter. It fills the need well and has a clean professional look my 20 yr old timbuk2 lacked. Well made as any timbuk2 product. Only complaints would be that it lacks a bit of organization features in the main pocket (I may be old school, but no pen holder.....really?). Need a secondary organizer to better manage cables, batteries, etc. Also would like 2 exterior bottle holders. More personal preference here but would like the ability to carry both water and coffee without using a hand or interior space. Still quite happy with it and would recommend. V

I've been looking for a replacement for my briefcase and after much research finally landed on this Closer Laptop Briefcase. I like the static color. Overall the bag is well crafted and designed. The zipper pouches for computer and tablet are a huge plus compared to the bag I used previously. I like the option of carrying the bag as a briefcase, shoulder back or messenger bag. This is exactly what I needed. Things I would change: I need at least one more zipper pouch INSIDE the bag for loose items - computer thumb drives, pens, accessories, change, headphones etc. that I just feel could fall out. I use the bag when traveling for work and I'm neurotic about organizing my items and double checking I've got everything. My previous bag had more zipper pockets for things. I would also add 1"-2" in thickness. Once I put my iPad Pro w/ cover and a MacBook Pro in the bag it is super tight. I'm thinking maybe put the iPad in an open pocket instead of the zipper pocket, this might loosen things up a bit. With a little tweaking this would be the perfect bag for a designer on the go. Regardless I love my new briefcase and would recommend it to anyone.

I pretty much like everything about this bag, with the exception of one thing. The metal buckles on the front scratch easily. One of my buckles was badly scratched after one day of use. For that reason, I'm going to return the bag.

This is a very high quality fabric that enables the briefcase to be very light. This particular model is for compact use only. It is great for travel but cannot fit very much, in particular the side drink holder pocket can only hold a slim 500ml bottle; anything larger and it will slip out. The straps allow for a comfortable cling, however, I found that the shoulder strap is extremely slippery and quite often slides off my shoulder involuntarily. The fabric is smooth and appears water resistant on the top half. It's also a very trendy design. I would recommend this product as it's great value for quality.
