Boots seemed OK comfort wise and looks wise but did not really care for the lighter tan color and so much cheap suede leather which I assume wiil attract and show off the dirt and grime from trail use. But it did feel fine. Problem was the left shoe had a minor glue over run on top of left shoe and it stood out due to the light tan color. The biggest problem was the popping sound the left shoe made with every step. The material would bunch/bind above the flex point then release making the noise. Returned them. Columbia Customer Service has to be one of the better ones around. No charge to ship defective shoes back and their people always seem so nice. Still a pain though to have to deal with the return, but oh well.

These boots looked very stylish and comfortable, but they are way on the narrow side of wide width shoes. I tried exchanging for a size up, but they were still too narrow. Too bad.

I’ve ordered 4 different hiking boots so far in search of something to fit my wide feet. These, unfortunately, were very narrow despite the “EE- wide” size. I normally wear a 13 EE or EEEE shoe. If you’re in the same boat, these aren’t for you. Trying my luck with the Dunham Cloud 13 EEEE next. If you have narrow feet or regular width, these Newton Ridge boots will probably be great for you. Happy trails!

Not fully waterproof, which is a bummer, bit the rest is a winner if you can live without that.
I like the design of the shoe, they look nice, the tread is nice and grippy.
The feel of the fit is good, very comfortable and easy to wear. Size-wise they fit nicely, I normally wear a 10.5 shoe and I actually tried one of these on in a retail store. The regular 10.5 felt tight and narrow, so I bought the wide and am happy with it.
Biggest letdown is the waterproof level, or lack thereof. At work we had a ton of snow and ice start to melt, so in some areas of the yard are a couple inches of standing water. I had to walk through the water and figured I'd be ok based on the info and the design of the shoe (how the tongue is sealed pretty far up). Ended up with two soaking wet feet all day. Not sure if it's a design flaw or I got a bad set, but definitely not pleased since that's why I got these.
Overall a decent shoe still, just can't trust them in water.

the shoes were too narrow; especially when it was suppose to be a wide size. and the upper portion rubbed against my ankle.

These are the narrowest EE wide width shoes I've ever tried on.

I wanted to love these, but the quality of the boot just wasn’t what I expected. I realize it’s a $90 boot, so I didn’t have high expectations, but these fell short. Also they smelled so much!

I wear a 9.5 M/D sneaker and shoes and have for most of my life. The best fitting shoe shape for me is a New Balance sneaker based off their SL-2 last (a shoe last is the mold that shoes are made upon and you can usually look up the last type of you search the major manufacturers site for the model of your favorite shoe - to compare things or buy other shoes that will probably fit well in future). I’ve provided this info here in case it helps anybody.
Tried multiple pairs of this Columbia Newton Ridge Plus II Suede WP, however the toe-box was too rigid and too narrow in multiple pairs I tried, even one half size larger.
The toe-box was so rigid that it hurt my toes above the knuckles in all pairs. I wore these blue badboys for two weeks but didn’t break in.
I tested them and wore them for a few days on end, and tried them in different settings. they were very comfortable inside, the fit was good, they felt good, except for that the toe-box was brutal to the tops of my toes. I am used to a shoe being rigid at first and then softening or molding to a better shape after a few days. were the pair’s I tested all bad? Not statistically probable.
I love the style of these and would love it if they were less rigid in the toe-box — as they caused some blisters because they didn’t break in easy. But they look amazing.
I’m presently testing out another brand and style of shoe — but if these were ever less rigid and had a larger toe-box, I would try these again! They look great. I wanted these blue suede style boots to work out so badly! I’m so sad I had to reject them.

I have ordered the exact same size of Columbia Newton Ridge Plus II shoes many times before, over past years.
So I was very surprised when my order arrived -- with both pairs too narrow. A disappointment. The only difference in my order was that these were "suede." And I only made that choice because regular were not available.

Tight across the front of foot. With the widest width available it still felt tight and uncomfortable.

Very good looking boot and the soles grip very well but I wear an 8W and these were marked 8W but they are uncomfortably tight and the top of the toe box is uncomfortably low. The shoe has a comfortable grip on the heel but the heel seemed lower or sunken creating stress on the plantar. The tongue on this and many shoes these days is unnecessarily wide to save money on material but it puts lacing stress on the instep especially if you have high arches.

These boots are extremely comfortable but the heel could use a piece of leather for better use. I accidentally wore some not so long sox with them and chafed the back of my heels

I bought this for my husband and received yesterday. To our disappointment, the "Dark Brown" looked like muddy dirt color. I don't know if they sent the wrong pair or their definition of Dark Brown was sandy dirt color. We checked the soles to make sure they were new, because they sure looked like an old pair. Very disappointed!

Great looking and incredibly comfortable. However, the top two eyelets on one pair popped off the first time I laced them up. Looking closely, this part of the shoe appears to be very cheaply made. I’ve never had anything like this happen to a pair of boots after years of use, much less on the first wear. I returned them and am going to try another pair, but I have a bad feeling this is a common issue.

I could tell by just looking at these that they would be too narrow for my grandson's 11 Wide foot. Guess I have to look for extra wide or try a hiking shoe instead! He didn't wear them so I can't comment on the arch support.

These look like pretty nice shoes however even though I ordered 12 wide which is my size they were too tight.
If you have a wide foot be forewarned, these probably won't fit you.
Kind of disappointed, this is my first Columbia product :(.

Two issues i found with these boots:
1. the sole is sliding on stone surfaces like you are on ice.
2.feet is always sweating little bit. When I removed insoles, it's improved. but still, i felt my feet was not 100%.
The similar boots from Sorel which are higher, use suede and have costed me $180 10 yr. ago feel great, comfortable.
I am returning them.
Will try Thursday's.
I'd also recommend:

These look fantastic and fit about a 1/2 size larger. Unfortunately the outer seam for the upper boot digs into my ankles so badly they bruise even beneath 2 pair of medium-thick wool socks. All ankles fit differently and this may be a non-issue for some. For me, they're terrible hiking shoes--they're simply painful.

I can't wear these. I wish I had time to send them back. They hurt my feet! Really make my feet hurt!! Feels like the foot bed is pure concrete. No cushioning what-so-ever. Highly uncomfortable. They are laying here collecting dust. Money wasted, and I don't have $$ to waste. Highly Uncomfortable boots. :-( :-(

The interior was very poorly made, it was wrinkled and baggy, causing them not to fit well. I liked the style and color and tread, but due to the poorly manufactured interior, I had to return them.
