Wow, I certainly understand all of the other 5 star reviews. These are some of the most comfortable 'out of the box' shoes I've ever had. They felt like moccasins by the second day. True to size, very easy to put on and remove, and the waterproofing is legit. I wear hiking shoes around my ranch every day for light and medium duty chores. So I wear them often, more than all my other shoes combined, and need a tough but comfortable boot. I just wore out a pair of Keens, which are also 5 star boots, but fairly pricey so I thought I'd try these. I got the Shark/Black, and they look fantastic. You can wear them out and about, with pants or shorts, as well as for hiking/working. My wife loves them. She doesn't want me to mess them up by wearing them around the ranch. Lol. I've just started wearing these, so of course I can't speak for their durability. But considering my needs, if they last a year or more they are a great buy and will join my list of greatest shoes ever.

I walk about 5 to 8 miles just about every day. Truly these Columbia Newto RidgePlus II s are the most comfortable hiking, treking or just plain walking boots I've ever owned. From right out of the box... until now, hundreds of miles later, these boots have performed way beyond any others I've worn. At age 79 and having walked and hiked uncountable miles over just about every kind of terrain, that's saying something!

Bought these for a trip in the Colorado rockies, performed better than expected in the snow and ice. Comfy, warm, dry, and gripped the ground. Great price for a great shoe

These boots are really great. First off, they really look good, especially compared to most types of hiking boots. They don't make you look nerdy lol Secondly, they fit perfectly and don't take long to break in. They are very comfortable and supportive, even with longer, bigger socks on. 10/10 would recommend these!

I haven't fully broken them in yet but I love the boots so far. They are very comfortable although high socks are a must because they can rub on the ankle a little bit. They are very stylish and easy to walk in. They are also easy to get on and off which is a big plus for me.

Bought these for my husband. He works outside for his job. He needed better ankle support and these are doing a great job.

These boots felt great out of the box. I wore them on a 2.5 hike on a maintained trail and they were very comfortable. Later, I wore them on a 4.5 mile rocky and wet hike. At the end of that hike, I could have used more support and a stiffer sole for the rocks. The boots kept the water out. These are very good for day hikes, but not intended for off trail. I will be using them regularly and my more severe duty boots on rough terrain.

Right out of the box and after hundreds of miles on woodland rocky trails and along asphalt roadside walks, these Columbia Newton Ridge Plus II are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Considering that I am a 79 year old who has worn dozens of different kinds and brands of boots, that is saying a lot. In my opinion, you cannot buy a better pair of boots for the price.

I usually wear D width. I had to return the D width and get an E width, now they fit great.

I like these shoes a lot. This is my third pair. Unfortunately, this pair and the pair before have a noticeable squeak in the left shoe. It is noticeable on hard surfaces. I really like the shoes, but the squeak takes away from the desirability of the shoe. I’m nervous to get another pair.

Very pleased with these boots, very comfortable and have held up to hiking 3-5 miles a day. In fact ordered the brown ones so I had a different color to wear. Highly recommend!!!!
