I love this shoe and it should be 5 stars. It looks great and was insanely comfortable on day one. Exactly what I was looking for. However, it absolutely does not breath. Within the first 2 or so hours of wearing the shoe, I could already smell it. This was December in Virginia, so we're talking 45 degrees. They're currently my everyday shoe. Over the last 30 days, I've put just shy of 6 miles on them each day or about 180 miles. I wear them for about 10 hours like any normal shoe. From a smell perspective, this is without question the worst shoe I've ever owned. I wear Darn Tough and Smartwool socks but it doesn't matter. I previously wore Merrell's Freeweel 2 (awesome shoe), Salmon's XA Pro, various Sperry shoes, Garmont, and combat boots all day long. My feet have never smelled anywhere near as bad; like different person with zero hygiene bad. It's only a matter of time before my wife makes me stop wearing them. This is exactly why I deliberately did not buy the Gore-Tex version. Super disappointed.

I'm om my 3rd MOAB 2 pair of shoes and love the shoes and that hey hardly slip on surfaces (I usually end up almost tripping myself since they don't slide), but the problem I have is that the laces is that no matter how securely they are tied come undone while walking and then I ended up stepping on one of them and then the lace splits and the eyelet for the lace breaks (on all 3 pairs). When will the eyelets be made stronger or replace with metal ones so that they won't break? I think that this is a serious flaw in an otherwise superior shoe!

not your best shoe. won't breathe at all and are already giving me problems with stinky feet at the end of the day. all my other Merrells are awesome, these are far from.

Disappointed. I find these shoes kind of plasticy. They mae a lot of plastic type noise when walking, running, or on the treadmill. Also, they are not a good fit (they are on the small size) after I followed manufacturer's advice on sizing choice.) I have had Merrells before that I was happy with, but these leave me wanting.

I just received my Merrell's and the color of the shoes, which is a light brown is not the shoe color I received .I got a dark brown shoe. The tags on the box and the shoe states it is Boulder but the color is much darker then what it looks like on the website. If the shoes and box is marked wrong then Merrell needs better quality control.

Somehow, the color selection is way off. I already have a pair of these shoes in the dark earth waterproof version, so figured I'd order a non-waterproof version in a different color. But instead of a tanish color, they're a tint of weird light green. Not even close to the picture. Going to exchange for another dark earth pair and hopefully that color is still the same. The waterproof pair fits and works well, so hopefully the fit of these is the same. For reference, picture of waterproof pair next to the current pair.

Too stiff, hard on the ankles and heels. Disappointing and hard to walk in.

The most uncomfortable shoes I've ever owned. They pinch and they feel heavy as lead. The support left a lot to be desired as well. I bought some gel inserts to try to make them work and it was a lost cause.

Been buying this shoe in Brown for 10 years. 2 x a year I order new. This year I decided to try a different color ( Boulder ) They arrived timely like always. I was excited. New work shoes. Tried them on. And the size 14 I ordered felt like a 13. So I compared to old brown J91831 sole to sole. And the difference even in sole is a inch shorter. When I called to return them. The guy on the phone could have cared less of my issue. Just another return I'm assuming. Now I have always been diligent with Merell. All the way back to 2006 when I discovered Merrell shoes. No doubt after several squeaking heels and a size difference Chances are I will be moving on

This is a very comfortable shoe right out of the box. I have had two different pairs of this same shoe and both pairs had an early stitching failure problem in the same location. The second pair was replaced under warranty and failed again in the same location on the sides where two leather pieces are sewn together. This seems like a design flaw since both pairs failed the same way and well before the shoe was worn out. The stitching at this flex point on the side of the shoe is not strong enough or possibly not enough leather is used so the two pieces pull and strain on each other. I used these shoes mostly at work in an office rather than heavy hiking or outdoor use. Loved the shoe at first but this design flaw/quality issue was very disappointing. I have had other Merrell shoes that lasted a very long time.

Bought 11.5 regular, too narrow. Bought 11.5 wide, too wide. Bunches up at toe and makes clomp, clomp sound when walking. Just not comfortable like my previous Merrell shoes. My last moc was too tight also. Can't get your shoes in a comfortable size any more
