After getting stress fractures in both feet from running with some traditionally cloud-like shoes, I decided to give the minimalist option a try. For the first time in weeks, I could walk without pain. For the first time in my life, I ended up buying multiple pairs of the same shoe so I would have a backup when these wear out. I did try the Merrell Trail Glove 5 as well, but there is a hard part on the inner arch that just does not work with my foot. Although both shoes seem to have the same contour from looking at the sole, the feel is completely different.

Can't go back to anything else. I bought the Trail Glove 4 last year for a trip to the Grand Canyon. First pair of "barefoot" sneakers I have owned. They took about a minute to get used to. Instantly felt comfortable. I do wear them with low profile socks just to prevent my feet from sweating and getting stinky . I have had them for about a year now and they have been my primary shoe for workouts, hiking (including the Grand Canyon trip) and every day and I feel like they have held up great. If I can get a solid year out of a shoe with as much as I wear them I feel like I have gotten my monies worth. They just recently started showing the first bit of wear. I have looked at reviews for other "barefoot" shoes but really don't see anything I like as much as far as style or as favorable reviews so I will probably just order the same shoe again - which is a huge compliment to the shoe!

Bought these shoes to wear on vacation. I've been wearing them around and about to see if they were comfortable. I ordered a size bigger than usual and inserted my orthotic in them ( I have flat feet). I find them very comfortable even though they are minimalist. They're light weight and sporty looking.

The size of this shoe was right on. Plenty of toe room and very comfortable, even for someone who likes a lot of arch support. I wear these all day and never have problems with my feet or back. Love those merrells, but especially love how easy shoe shopping is with Zappos!! Thanks so much!!

Bought this shoe in 'High Rise' in a 9.5 and it fit great ! So great that I wanted another pair in a different color! Purchased the 'Persian Red' in a 9.5 and it is too short. It was noticeable right out of the box but I tried it on anyway hoping for the best but nope.? Not sure if a 10 will work but gonna try.

Good arch support, but not enough for me and cannot accommodate inserts.

The tongue on these is sewn in on one side making it very difficult to adjust. The lugs are also too high and make walking on places such as hard flooring unstable. I prefer more ground feel.

I was surprised at how poor the tread is on these shoes and they don’t do well in wet conditions at all. I just about bit it running over a *damp* wooden bridge and I find myself needing to be extra cautious when it’s even remotely wet on the ground. Disappointing.

I have worn these 3 times. Very comfortable shoes until they heat up, and smell so bad I put deodorant on my feet. This is not a normal occurrence for me . I tried with and without socks, no difference, and the 3rd time wearing these, my husband asked what smelled so bad.None of my other Merrell's have this problem.

Was a bit unsure about " being ready for this type of shoe". Happy I got them. It is a different fit/feeling. But I love them. And I am a Senior.

Fit and size are good. They're comfortable. They are sturdy and still minimal plus they have an interesting design. I was looking for the trail glove shoe and I really appreciate Zappos' free shipping and return policies - they were important to me in ordering shoes online.

This is a great shoe! I use it on trails and the treadmill. Fits wonderfully, extremely comfortable and looks really good.

I fell in love with these the moment I put them on and wore them all day. We leave in 2 weeks for a hiking trip-no break in needed. I fall between a regular and wide, this has a nice roomy toe box, without looking boxy.

I joke about having duck feet (narrow heel, wider forefoot, index & middle toes slightly longer than big toes). I wear shoes U.S. 9.5 to 10. I ordered this one in a 10. There's just enough room for my toes to either use these barefoot, or with lightly cushioned socks.

I’m on my feet a lot. The first day I wore them at work I felt like I really was barefoot.

I run in these and I like them for their minimal build. They have just enough underfoot to make runs perfect.

These felt wonderful on my feet. I wear them to the gym, play basketball, and as an every day walk around shoe. I did take the advice of other reviewers and ordered a half size larger and they are perfect. I love them so much I bought a second pair in black. Red was my original pair.

Fits really good. I have a wide foot and a narrow heel. These are very comfortable! Great for those looking to add a barefoot shoe into their shoe rotation or for the fanatics ? Just enough cushion that you don’t feel the stones.

Best shoes ever

I love my shoes!!!! So comfy. The size I normally wear 5 1/2 but in this shoe I needed to go to a size 6, which fits great!!!!

These are my favorite running shoes. They are comfortable and flexible from the first wearing.
