I think if I was in the store and not ordering online, I would liked to have tried on a large. I normally wear medium size gloves; these are pretty snug but wearable, and I hope they will stretch just a bit. I think they will work for me, but if you are at the upper end of the range for a medium glove, I would consider a large. They appear to be very well made, of good leather, with a very comfortable liner. Though they are considered work gloves, I think it would depend on the work I was doing. Myself I will use them for driving, walking the dog and hiking. The extra length at the wrist overlaps the coat sleeve and keeps out the cold air. Time will tell whether my rating goes up or down.

Great glove. Good articulated fit for doing stuff like ice climbing or skiing or pulling zippers. Really tight in the wrist though. Hard to get over my meaty palms, so not really easy on easy off, but very comfy, and the pull tabs work well even with the shimmy entrance. I pull hard on them.

Really like these gloves, although sizing is a little weird. Got a medium, really struggled to put them on at first. After squeezing into them a few times and leaving them on for a few minutes at a time, they became a little easier to pull on. Really snug through the palm and hand, yet still a little long in the fingers. I may have oddly sized hands, not sure. Usually a medium fits me well. I imagine being leather that they'll get more comfortable over time.

I want to love these gloves and I have not given up. They are made of soft, supple leather that allow terrific dexterity. Great wool-ish insulation. My only problem is the fit. I own many OR gloves and I fit most medium sizes perfectly, sometimes a large. These gloves in a medium fit as expected in the hand and four fingers, but the thumb is remarkably stubby; painfully so. I've been wetting, wearing, and leather-conditioning the heck out of them. The thumbs feel better day-by-day. I anticipate a great fitting work glove with dexterity in all fingers, soon. I would still recommend these, especially if you already own leather conditioner.

Well made, high quality gloves. Fingers too short and a bit wide limiting dexterity. Not sure if this will work out once they break in.. would recommend to friend with the right hand ; )

I got large and they are a bit too tight. The quality of construction and materials is great, only issue is sizing.

I purchased these gloves primarily for in-area and backcountry skiing. Although I would easily destroy them bucking, splitting, and stacking firewood for the season, they will work well as warm and comfortable ski gloves. I've already slathered them in Sno-Seal in an attempt to waterproof for the season which made the palm grip slick, but is keeping the melting snow from absorbing. If you want similar results, but don't want to make your gloves look beat-in, Nikwax makes a product to maintain the smooth leather look. In comparison, these gloves are not as well-insulated as the classic Kinco 901 ski gloves, but do provide much more dexterity. The shorty gauntlet fits under a loose jacket cuff, but it doesn't keep the snow out if positioned over-the-cuff. The pull-tabs on the gauntlet are a nice touch, it makes putting them back on after a cold bc changeover quick and easy. I'm reluctant to give any product a five-star rating before a full-season beat down, but so far I am liking these "work" gloves just fine.

Sweet leather work gloves or casual use. Again, in between sizes on Medium and Large; as I am in all OR products seemingly. The pinky finger, in particular seemed to be too long both for me and for my colleague who I gave these to due to the poor fit. I would love to see OR close the gap between sizing, particularly in gloves so they sizes overlap more and hopefully I can find either a Medium or Large that would fit me b/c I really like their gloves.

I haven't gotten a chance to use these gloves yet because I bought them for winter work on the farm. One thing I can say is that OR gloves actually fit. I have large hands and OR is a rare company in that they make gloves that fit between my thumb and forefinger. So many companies shortcut this gap and you cant use your thumbs properly. OR has this dialed and all of their gloves seem well built. I am looking forward to some winter labour with these babies.

Size is a little on the small side. Medium fits but will need to be broken in. Leather is on the softer side as well. We will see how they hold up this winter.

I have used these gloves about 7 times over the last 2 weeks and have been happy with my purchase! My grievance with them is that they are sized small. I usually wear a large in OR gloves, and even after wearing these for full days of touring they are still quite tight. Almost too tight, and I've noticed that my hands get cold because of the tightness. Still think they're great gloves, and hope that with more wear they will break in and stretch a tad.

This is my second pair. I use these for winter work gloves and once they are worked in enough I ski tour with them also. They are reasonably warm, but they take awhile to break in (stiff). They also fit very snug so consider sizing up.

My hands are medium at best. The gloves fit way to tight, even for my relatively small hands.

I bike commute 25 minutes most of the year. I started using these gloves when morning temps were between 30-35 F, with wind on some of the days. Worked well, kept my hands warm (fingers slightly cold) and fingers were usable enough to use the brake levers. I noted bulky above as a con, they do feel a bit bulky and somewhat movement restrictive, but that is the trade off for warm hands. I live in a dry environment so have not tested them in wet conditions yet.

Bought one pair directly from OR for myself to use in the Ontario winter on our hobby farm and light outdoor fun. I bought liner gloves to use with them when < -10c and low activity (like dog walking). Bought a second pair online from a sporting goods retailer as an Xmas present for my brother. I bigged up the gloves and the advertised OR warranty to my family on jesus' bday. Unfortunately, the leather failed on my brother's gloves the very first day of use, while he was still visiting us! Bit embarrassing! I am hopeful that I was just the unlucky minority that is statistically bound to suffer from failure . The infinite warranty was a big factor in my decision to shell out the extra $$ for gloves, but didn't expect to need to call on the warranty so soon. I will request a smaller size for my bro while I'm at it (I guessed his size incorrectly). I'll attempt to leave another comment to let folks know how the returns process works out.

These gloves are great all-around gloves. I use them at the ski resort or for a casual day of hiking/splitboarding. The biggest issue I have is that they don't come with retention straps! OR needs to put retention straps on all their gloves! I will sew my own on. But you can make them removable OR. They are necessary so you don't loose a glove.

I only wore these gloves once. They fit well and felt like nicer kinco ski gloves, but they are NOT work gloves. After one light duty job moving lumber the leather split on a nail through two laters on the finger. Would never have happened with Kincos. Good for winter hikes and spring skiing.

The gloves fit well and were pretty comfortable - but that's all I can give them stars for. However mine fell apart within two months of receiving them. The leather either tore at some seems, and in other places the seems just gave out. I do use them for work - but since they're advertised as "work gloves" I expected them to be a lot tougher than they were.

Not true to fit; these are way smaller than the sizing chart says they are (I took took measurements to make sure they would fit). Seem like good quality but the size is too small for me to wear, I'm returning them

Me and my crew are very avid OR fans, hats, shirts, pants, rain gear, we have it all and are proud to wear it. So when OR finally came out with a cold weather work glove we were stoked. Between the group we ended up with at least 6 pair of gloves. Sadly, every one of them wore out in a matter of a few short months. The main issue is the stitching blew out of most of the fingers, leaving them useless for the cold, wet weather they were intended for. I've sent mine back for in-store credit and will be moving on to try something different, and hopefully OR will learn that their work gloves better get some major stitching improvements to hold up to real adventure and working men wear.

We bought 3 pairs of these Aksel Work Gloves for Christmas presents for the boys in our house, including myself. Started wearing them on Christmas. Used sparingly, and mostly for snow blowing and driving in the car-- which is pretty light duty. On a drive home the other day, I see a big rip in the leather on the middle finger of my right hand. And, no, I am not in the habit of using my middle finger much. And, I am left handed, so most of the heavy use for gloves and stuff is on my left hand. And, this is a tear in the leather, not a stitching problem. I cannot for the life of me figure out when this happened, or why. Safe to say I am not very happy about it.
