I have had this parka for a year and I can confidently say that I am very disappointed in this purchase. I wear dark colors all year long and it was so disheartening and frustrating having to constantly remove the tiny feathers coming out of the cheap lining. It came to the point that I had to carry lint remover sheets in my purse and office desk and spend 15 minutes or more removing EVERY SINGLE ONE (please see image of my wool base layer after spending a cold, NZ winter day in this parka). It's embarrassing to do so, and even more so when taking off said parka and people noticing said feathers flying around. A clothing item this expensive should not be such a hassle to deal with. I'm going to give this away and get my outerwear from another brand.

The jacket felt very warm, but the sizing was weird. It fit snug through the shoulders but HUGE in the chest. Also, the waist didn’t really nip in enough and it seemed really shapeless and unflattering. It might have looked better had a sized down, but I would not have managed it with the shoulders. I tried another North Face jacket and had the same issue, so maybe the brand just fits this way (for reference, I’m 5’9” and I think my shoulders are well-proportioned to my frame, but probably broader than those of someone petite). Returning.

When I bought my NF OUTER BORO PKA coat 3 weeks ago, I was super excited I thought even was expensive for a coat, it was worthly, but after few weeks of used the coat, I notice the feathers come out so easy, and all my sueters are full of feathers, seems like I sleep with chickens in a henhouse. I can handle with it, I will return to the store. Made me sad because I love the others parts of the coat. BUT THE LINING IS VERY POOR QUALITY.

I have owned many TNF parkas over the years. This was the year to get a new one, but sadly the fit is lacking. It seemed great in the store, but now that cold weather is here, I am starting to be frustrated with my new purchase every day. I prefer my last TNF jacket.
I have always worn XS and this year it is like it was large design but just sewn smaller. There are many things wrong on this design.
- Unlike others, I find the fit in the upper chest/neck area too bulky - I always have a draft there if I don't have a scarf on.
- The sleeves are too long and I don't understand why TNF can't incorporate the thumb hole on the inner cuff like many other brands - which makes it like a fingerless mitt. I will never use the fold over cuffs - too restrictive and useless for everyday activities. Previous years have had a fold over outer cuff that looked nice but this year is plain and too long.
- The two collars with the attached hood is nice but hard to zip up because it is bulky and cumbersome. It might have been better to have the internal collar zip be separate from the hood collar so you can sip up one collar without having to also put up the hood.
- The lower zip pockets are useless as they are far too low on the jacket to comfortably use (they are at mid thigh level, which means you have to bend over to use them)
- The zipper is poor quality and after only using it for less than a month is already showing wear (plastic at start of zipper) at the bottom.
The overall look of the jacket is nice and stylish but the functionality of the design is poor. I regret purchasing this jacket and at $550 it isn't something I can easily replace.

I have to agree with several other reviewers- the sizing in this parka is very strange. I own a couple of North Face products including a long down coat and wear a size small. The small in this coat was way off- couldn't even get my arms down the sleeve openings! In a size medium, the body of the coat was too big. I'm very disappointed because it's a substantial parka that I believe if sized correctly would be perfect.

This coat has a very narrow chest design. I'm 5'7" 160lbs 34D 29/size 8-10 in jeans, athletic build, size medium in most jackets but this one was too tight and restricting around the chest. Anywhere else fit fine. Size large was very baggy in other areas apart from the chest. I would advise people with larger chest to consider other jackets or size up if you don't mind the extra roominess elsewhere. It's such a pity because the coat is very warm and made from high quality materials.

After spending so much money, I am disappointed that the down feathers poke out of the interior lining as it is not well made. It is a hassle when I want to wear dark colored sweaters. I think for the price of this coat, feathers should not be poking out.

Nice looking coat, but the inside lining is very thin and cheap and the down insulation is constantly poking out of the interior lining. I prefer to wear dark-colored cashmere sweaters during the winter but they have become entangled with small down feathers and a real pain to remove. Due to this problem, when I wear this coat, I can only wear light colored sweaters, otherwise I'll look like a slob with tiny white feathers stuck all over my sweaters. Very frustrating! Otherwise, it is a warm coat and keeps me warm in Maine. Do not buy this coat if you mostly own dark winter clothing. I wish that after spending so much money on a coat, that the inside lining wasn't so cheap. The fit is also odd as others have pointed out. The chest is too small, which makes you have to order a size up and then makes your hips look too big.

I bought this parka at The North Face Banff store. When I wore this parka first time, I saw my dress. It was horrible because of I saw too many feathers sticking to my dress. I went Banff store again. But they did not take the parka back because it didn't have a tag(Their return policy is absurd). So I sent the first parka to warranty because of feathers issue. On top of that, I spent almost $93 in shipping the parka to Quebec. I received the new parka but the issue was not resolved. I bought the North Face parka few years ago I never had this issue with feathers before. I don't trust The North Face brand anymore.
I am disappointed this parka. I would not recommended this parka to anyone.

Bought this for my daughter who lives in NYC specifically because of The North Face quality and warranty. Jokes on us. Back seam of coat completely separated (workmanship not torn) It will be over 120 days (Nov - February)before North Face will respond with either a repaired or replaced 2 yr old coat. So Basically no coat this winter unless we buy a new one for the interim. Exactly the opposite of why we buy from North Face.

I live in Montreal and bought this beautiful parka few days ago. on the day I purchased this parka the weather was -11 centigrade and I just tried it on for a short walk from guy Concordia to Mc D (people from Montreal know that its a super short distance). I was disappointed! I was chilling inside! I know for sure that it's not good for Canada

Was looking for a staple very warm winter coat that I could use for years, however the fabric and fur simply looked cheap when I recieved it in the mail, something I didn't expect for over $400. It also didn't feel nearly as warm as a parka this expensive should. As a thinner, athletic body type, it also was unflattering on my figure, which again, for $400 and something I plan to wear as mainstay for years, I wasn't happy with.

The fit was way off! I own another North Face parka in small which fits perfectly- this one I couldn’t even get my arms in the sleeves! Cut awkwardly small in body, shoulders and sleeves.
