I ordered this hoping it would be a good alternative to buying a Canada Goose, but it felt super bulky and cheap feeling. The hood in particular was very stiff and I couldn’t even get it over my head comfortably.

I bought this jacket in a size small, which is my true size in just about everything I wear. This jacket was way too tight through the chest, armpits, and arms. I could hardly move my arms up and down, and I knew that issue would only be worse if I was layering underneath. The jacket fit well everywhere else. When I went to return this in store, I tried on the medium for comparison. As I expected, it fit in the arms but swallowed me everywhere else. The proportions of this parka are definitely confusing and didn't work for me at all. I ended up getting the Defdown park and the fit is way better.

This is a very warm jacket. It's true to its size. I ordered xsmall first because I'm a petite person but it was too tight around the shoulders so I had to order small which is a good size for me. I had a bad experience exchanging the xsmall to a small because Northface doesn't have any exchange policy so I had to pay again for the Small size. Customer service representative was not helpful first and second time but When I called third time our issue was resolved. So be careful when ordering.make sure you go to the store and try the size you want.

The zipper was hard to work. The pockets were too low for me to even put my hands in. I am 5’ 3”. I like the look of a non puffy coat though.

I used the size chart while buying online. The size chart was very thorough. I received the jacket and wore it once. I noticed the sleeves were slightly tight in the shoulders. When I bent down to put my boots on the jacket felt slightly tight and a bit stiff. I would have exchanged the jacket for a slightly bigger size, although it was sold out when I looked on the website again.

This is a great coat! I wish it would have worked for me. I am 5'3 and found the coat to look silly. I wish they had this in an XXS and it would have been great

I bought the outer boroughs parka instead of a Canada Goose and I am sorry. The front zipper sticks so I nennd to repeatedly work at zipping it, the sleeves are long with the biggest problem the inner mitten part, that takes me minutes to push my arms all the way through, it feels very bulky and heavy, and the magnet fasteners stuck to other magnet objects. I'm small 108 and 4'10" . I bought this coat after reading all the praises and high marks it had as keeping warm and comfortable.

Everything is perfect except the goose down come out from inside, for this price I think they need better quality.

Well I was super conflicted about whether or not to keep this coat. I bought it in my usual M and got the L too just in case. Neither size fit me correctly. I am 5'4 and 150 Lbs with wide hips and a small upper body. With a medium to medium heavy weight sweater, the medium was perfect in all but the shoulder width..which was too tight..even with just a t-shirt. I was swimming in the large coat. It looked like a bag on me...so for that price it had to go back.
It was a super bummer too because the copious pockets were perfect...the lined ones were especially cozy. I loved the hand covers too. I had to remove the faux fur around the hood also because it drooped into my eyes. Why do people not put an adjustment strap on hood in a coat this expensive?

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I loved this coat from the photos, but it didn't work out for me. I am 5'4" and 160, with a straight build and a large chest - 40C/D. I typically wear extra-large tops due to wide shoulders and large bust. This coat did just fit over a henley shirt without being uncomfortable, but I wouldn't be able to wear anything more than a light layer under it. However, the bottom was like a bell for me, way too wide, which made for a weird and unflattering fit. The second thing I did not like about this coat was that it was quite bulky and heavy. The third thing I didn't like was that the outer fabric seemed like it would attract lint.
On the positive side, the coat was very very warm, great cuffs and hood, and made you feel snug. I am sure it would be warm in any temps (I am from Wisconsin). But the fit was not right. This particular model may not be the best if you have cup size over B.

Overall, this is a really great jacket. The material is high quality, the fur on the hood is soft and full, and the lining is really warm. The makeshift gloves attached to the sleeves are a plus. However, this jacket is not made with all body types in mind. It fits best for someone tall and slim. I have a petite frame and an hourglass shape. The torso of the jacket fits perfectly, even without the adjustments at the waist. The sleeves are absurdly long which is a bummer because it's hard to have a down jacket tailored and you can't roll up sleeves on a jacket like this. I wish North Face offered different sizes: petite, tall, curvy, etc. Other companies do and this seriously leaves an otherwise exceptional brand in the dust. I wouldn't recommend this jacket unless you are 5'9 or above and slim.

The design and style of this parka is the best I have seen. I bought the S size. Absolutely enjoyed wearing it. It's warm, comfortable and most of all it has a waist adjustment that makes you look more stylish than a regular parka. It also has mittens you can use in case you forgot gloves. And also higher additional pocket to stick your hand in for warmth. Love these features. But but but... after 2-3 days of use, the down feathers started to come out. Not just little, there were 5 big feathers stuck to my sweater which I noticed after taking the jacket off. Thankfully I had the tags still on, I was able to return it with this complaint. For a $500 jacket I will definitely not want the feathers coming off at this rate. Now, for the rest of the winter, I don't have a heavy jacket because I liked the design of the outer boroughs parka so much that I don't seem to like any other jacket. Will wait for North face to improve the quality keeping the same design.

I really loved this jacket I ordered it in the an extra small ( it's regular fit, not a slim fit) as I am very petite 5'1, 105 lbs, 32c and currently 3 months pregnant (but I am not showing at all.) The sleeves are perfect but the mittens are too small. Also, when I try to zip it up it won't zip up all the way. Lastly the zipper quality just sucks! I ordered a size up (small) and that's just too big I look like I'm swimming in it. As much as I loved the comfortability, feel and look I just had to return both of them. I may try the Gotham next.

I wish I could make this coat work for me because I truly love the style and it's very warm, but the fit is not for an adult woman with hips. I wear a large in all the coats and jackets I own, and this coat is too tight around certain areas, especially hips. I went ahead and purchased the x-large but after bringing it home realized it looks enormous on me, and just does not fit nicely. It's like I'm in between size large and x-large which does not exist. This is a women's coat but not made for a woman...so very disappointed since I wanted this coat so badly! I've noticed this with many of NF clothing, just not made with women bodies in mind.

I love this coat but it was not designed for hips! I normally wear a medium but I ordered a size up because I wanted to be able to layer and it's too snug to even zip. The sleeves run a little long so if I were to order a size up (again) I think it would be enormous. It's unfortunate since it is a women's coat, it really should be designed for women!

I ordered this coat in an XS despite the fit finder recommending a small. I am 5'5" 125lbs, 25" waist, and wear 32A which also fits the NF's sizing chart guide for XS. My previous North Face parka is an XS and fits perfectly and I can wear sweaters underneath. The coat is beautiful, I got it in the new taupe colour. I find the only place it feels a bit too small is at the seem under the armpit/over the shoulder. Also couldn't fit a large sweater comfortably underneath. This was very disappointing. I then decided to order a small for comparison as the fit finder initially recommended.... and it's HUGE! The small looks terrible, way too big. I'm undecided now weather I will keep the XS or not, but the S is definitely going back. Additionally, the seam in hood that allows for the fur to be removed is very rigid and hard and I find it actually hurts my head, especially when I tuck my chin to my chest as I would naturally do in the face of cold Canadian winter winds. This cost is beautiful and I want it to work, but I'm not sure it's going to. Very disappointing.

I love this warm coat but it does restrict my arm movement which i find super annoying because the coat was so expensive. The shoulder construction just does not allow me to bring my arms forward completely. I normally wear a small or medium, I bough medium and returned it for a large hoping to solve that issue, but alas the coat still feels small in the shoulder, even in large.

Loved this coat, very durable and a great material. The fit however was not great. I usually wear a medium in everything, but for this coat the medium was snug on the arms / shoulders and I did not end up keeping it. I was tempted to try the large, but after reading the other reviews I ended up going with the Arctic Parka.

The material of this coat is terrific. You can tell it is very high quality and will keep you warm on frigid days. I love how long the sleeves are as that can be a problem area for me. I am 5'9", I weigh 130 lbs and I would say my body shape is fairly athletic and proportionate. I originally ordered this coat in a small and from the waist down it fit great. The arms also fit nicely. However, it was very tight in my underarms and across my chest. I sent it back and ordered a medium. I was so disappointed when I tried it on as the underarms and chest then fit well but from the waist down it was like a big bell. This coat work work well for someone who has a small bust, narrow shoulders and bigger hips/legs.

This was exactly the kind of coat I was looking for for the cold New England winters. I got the dark grey in both a Medium and a Large and LOVE everything about this coat except that the Medium is my "true fit" except for the chest area (I am a size 8 & a DDD cup). I don't know why this coat has to be so restrictive around the chest!! I'd have to wear it with a very think sweater to be able to zip it up. I'd have no problem going to a Large but it was wayyy too big and baggy for me all around. Sadly will have to return :(

The shoulders are cut way to small. I found the chest/arm/shoulder area very restrictive and too tight to hold warmth. I often wear xsmall or small and even the small was too tight. The medium was huge in the body and hips. Returned.

I have give this Jacket as a gift to my Wife. She loves the Warmth of the Jacket and comfort.
The Reason for poor rating are.
1. It Leaves goose down on your dresses and it leaves lot of down,It has been more than a year but it leave lot of down and all the suits and dresses looks ugly because of this.
2. I have give this Jacket for Dry cleaning and the color of the jacket is Faded
3. I had to replace the Zipper with in 6 months of Purchase and sending it to repair to North Face is a huge task and a wait time of 6-8 weeks.

The most uncomfortable thing I have ever worn, helps with the cold but part of me would rather freeze than be that uncomfortable and restricted
