I have had this jacket now for 2 years. The jacket over all is great. The fit is nice, it's lightweight but warm. My only complaint is that the hood is useless. It is over sized and no way to tighten it around your face. If it's windy or you intend to wear the hood for any duration of time, it just falls off.

When I received the coat in the mail I was worried about how thin it felt, but it proved to be warm enough while I was visiting family in the Midwest for Christmas. I really like the omniheat technology! The hood is very soft, fleece lined and one of my favorite features is the cuffs with the thumb holes. I like the zipper pockets and the length of the coat is nice too - long enough to keep your bottom warm but not annoyingly long. I ordered an XS at first (5'7" 125lbs) but I have long arms and felt like it was restricting and tight, especially on the sleeves, so I exchanged for a small and it has been a good fit. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because both of the coats started getting some frayed threading in the back after just one wear, but it hasn't become a big problem on the one I've had now for a couple months.

This jacket is lightweight and warm. I especially love the full length, covering my rear. The only feature I would add if I could would be a way to snap or tie it up when zipping is more than what's needed.

I wear a small in everything from Columbia, except this jacket. I wanted a jacket that was functional and didn't look bulky so I ordered my usual size. The Omni tech means a billion layers aren't necessary, which is awesome! I'm bummed I didn't sit in it or cross my arms when trying it on. It's snug in the shoulders and arms with just a light top under it.

This jacket is great it is high quality and looks beautiful. It is a very lightweight jacket, however, it is a bit thin for harsh weather. I think that it would not be warm for below 40 F. Other than that I love the comfort cuffs with thumbholes and the zipper is good quality. Also, I love the omniheat technology and I love the way that pockets are very large. I am 165 pounds and 5'6 tall and I have 45.3 inch hips (which are larger than my upper body) and the fit was great, I can say it is even a bit large so you can layer up.) Overall it is a very good product to use before or after harsh winter conditions.

This jacket fits great and is warmer for our cold winters. It wouldn't keep me warm on our coldest days, but is great for 10-20 degrees with layers. I suggest sizing up if you intend to wear over multiple layers

I like how this coat keeps me warm but isn't super puffy. It seems like good quality so far after a few weeks. The sleeves are long enough for me (5'10") thanks to the thumb hole lining. The color of green is a nice olive, which is what I searched for. My only negative is the hood and zipper around the neck area. The hood seems too short to stay on my head, especially when my hair is in a bun. This seemed to be an issue with other Columbia coats, too. The zipper just kind of pokes my neck when it's all the way up. I purchased the coat on sale around Christmas, and I think it was a good purchase for the cost.

I just received this coat for Christmas. Initially I was in love- a nice length for me (5'2"), amazingly light in weight, and when I tried it inside it felt very warm and cozy without overheating. But then I stepped outside for a few mins for a test spin, and it felt like the wind went straight through it. It was only about 40 degrees with light/moderate wind. I need a coat that can handle much lower temps and higher winds in southeastern PA.

I love that the hood FITS and doesn't cover my eyes. Also like the cuffs that keep cold out. The jury is out about the lining that's supposed to keep me warm. In Idaho at about 30 degrees and windy, it felt like the wind was getting through to me. so I'll have to see how it does through the winter. The length is great and the cot looks great on. I bought the Nori (green) which is attractive, but really wanted the purple color. which they didn't have in my size at the time I ordered. I'm 5'3" and 122 lbs and the small fits but doesn't allow for layering.

I wore it in our recent trip to St Louis, MO for my son's indoor soccer games and so far I liked how it was designed and trimmed to be able to drive without the bulk of a puffer jacket. I am a satisfied customer! Thanks Columbia !

This was a gift and it seems like a good one. It has the Omniheat which is my favorite and the comfort cuff is nice. It keeps me warm and does its job. Only, negative/improvement is the collar which could be fabric. In cold, it is really cold and when it touches the neck; i don't like it. They could improve and provide a fabric lining so it doesn't feel cheap material at the hood.

Love this jacket. Not as warm as I expected however it does well on its own in 20F degree temps. I got a size large and am glad I did because I can comfortably fit a heavy layer under the jacket and then it is very warm. Mid thigh length another plus. The thumbholes in the cuff are a nice add. One slight "style" comment, the jacket is very straight, a little tuck or drawstring at the waist would have made it "look" better. Having said that, I did not buy this jacket to be stylish but to be warm.

I just bought this jacket as my winter coat. I live in Washington and this coat is perfect for the weather here! It keeps me very warm and dry. I've had it for a couple weeks now and I love it! I'm about 5'7 and 150lbs and I chose a medium. It fits perfect and I still have room to wear a light jacket or sweater underneath. It is light weight and not bulky which is awesome! I would recommend this jacket for west coast winters.

I recently purchased this Columbia winter coat and I am very happy with it so far. I am 5"4, 134 pounds and I ordered the size Medium. It fits great, its slimming and very flattering. Super lightweight. The hood works great, I have worn it in snow and rain and the coat and hood kept me very dry and warm. The coat is surprisingly very warm for it being so lightweight. I was walking around the mall one day in it and had to take it off, I was getting a little sweaty. My only complaint is the thumb holes on the sleeves. I have never had a coat with those before so it takes a bit of getting used too. All in all a great coat, I highly recommend. The only reason I give it a 4 out of 5 stars is that I have only had the coat for 2 weeks and I am interested to see how it wears for an entire winter. I hope to get a few winters out of it.

After purchasing the Barlow Pass jacket online and discovering that it was absurdly huge on my petite frame, I went to a Columbia store in-person to try on alternatives. While I generally find Columbia products to be fairly good quality and have features I want, they do not size for petites and the XS sizing seems to vary widely according to fit. But this jacket is just what I wanted! It is a longer parka style that is not puffy, thanks to the silver lining that gives you back your body heat. It really is a nice, slim fit that looks more feminine and fitted than boxy or bulky (I am 5 feet and 104 pounds). I like the arm sleeves and very soft sherpa lining the neck and hood. In person, I found I really loved the deep burgundy color over the also pretty olive I'd originally seen and liked online. The downsides are just that it has only one internal pocket and two hand pockets. I think a thick sweater would make for an uncomfortable fit; I was also a little concerned that I had to pick through the available jackets for one that didn't already have broken threads along the front seams - hopefully this jacket can survive! Also not waterproof, just water resistant; too bad. The upsides are that it is long but not crazy long, both hem and sleeves; and the slim fit / light weight that will make this comfortable and easy to wear on winter travels, as I sling my purse or backpack over it.

I bought this jacket a month ago and I am very much in love. Being from MA, our winters definitely get cold, so it's important to find a jacket that can withstand the climate. This jacket definitely does that! It's light, but surprisingly very warm. When I wear it, I find the only part of my body that doesn't stay warm are the parts of my body not covered by the jacket. I gave 4 stars for one main reason and one small reason. The small reason is that it does run a bit small. I am 5'3, 110lbs, and small chested. I had originally ordered the small, but the shoulders were a bit tight and I couldn't fit a sweatshirt underneath. I returned for the medium and am much happier with the fit. The main reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5, is that inner material has begun to come out of the seams (not excessively, but still annoying).

Nicely styled, flattering, cool weather coat. It's not as warm as I'd hoped, won't be wearing in frigid Northeast temps. Fine for 40 and above. I'm 5'9", 160 lbs. Size large fit me well with room for a t-shirt and flannel shirt beneath.

Happy with my purchase. Interior of jacket is fantastic and keeps you warm. Exterior very well made and fashionable. Only negative would be the size runs a tad small. I would recommend buying one size up from your normal size. I love Columbia!

This coat looks awesome, however for me being 5'3" was too long in the sleeve. The hood felt very warm inside. I also liked that it unzipped at the bottom and top making it easy to sit with it on. However ,returning it because of the sleeve length.

After living in Florida for 10 years, I find the Iowa winter cold almost unbearable...and it's only the end of October! My best friend suggested a Columbia Coat. I'm so glad I listened to her! My coat is so warm even though is lightweight! I'm very happy with it! Thank you so much!

At first, I wanted to shift it back because it looks very light and I worried it could not stand Michigan coldness. But after I tried it on outdoors today, I decided to keep it! It kept me very warm and I really like it now!
