I should have gotten a bigger size as the piece is snug and tight in the armpits. For a product that is used in active sports, I thought the range of movement would be better.

Great product I'm slim 6'6" and large fit surprisingly well. Would be nice if it had an elastic sleve finish.

Jacket feels amazing, breathes amazing, and is just a dream to wear. But if you aren't made like a stick or are severely overweight this jacket won't make you happy. I have it in 2XL and I could carry a child and the waist region would still fit. Hope NF will someday make a tailored jacket for athletes.

The jacket felt a bit too loose and I didn't like the color. So I had to return it.

tried a couple other brands of similar idea / material. WHY on earth, a pc. slated for outdoor active wear would be cut SO high in the pits / shoulders exc ... as to NOT allow full freedom of movement is beyond me.
But if you were to re-design it w/ a slightly more REG fit AND adding reglan sleeves would be a bonus.
(gaves more underarm / shoulder room ) And unfortunately , the MED was too big all over :(

So I have the summit ventrix and the regular ventrix. They are both good jackets, they could be great jackets. The regular ventrix is a little tighter around the torso and because of the cuff elastic bands and something else, the sleeves run long. Look, you can see them bunched up on the model. Yup, that's pretty much what they're going to fit like on you as well. I considered cutting thumb loops to make the extra fabric worthwhile, or having the sleeves hemmed. Breathes well but not as well as I expected. Abrasion panels are a great idea but they twist forward like wonder woman's arm bracers. Looking forward to them getting the fit right and adding more lazer holes (mostly on back and pit region, could use more)

This jacket could have been the perfect rival to the Patagonia Nano-Air, but it failed majorly in the sizing aspect. While the the Nano-Air is true to size, which is small for me, the Ventrix runs very small. The size that you normally wear will be rather snug, restrictive of movement, and almost suffocating to wear. I ended up getting a size above my true size, which result in a slightly baggy jacket that cannot fit under an alpine hard shell comfortably.

Lorsqu'il neige en raquettes, je croyais que la neige allait glisser sur le manteau. Malheureusement, le tissus devient mouill rapidement. Trs dcevant pour le prix.

I have primarily been wearing softshell jackets for the last 6+ years, so this is a change for me. I'm 6'3" and 175 and ordered a Medium. The torso and arms are perfect. However, they did something wrong with the arm holes. They are either cut too small, need to be rotated forward, or ??? But the insulation bunches in my armpits and the bulk is very uncomfortable (I know it is the arm holes because if I lift my arms, the torso fit is still OK). I love how lightweight it is and appreciate how the ripstop is not shiny and not too noisy. The arm length is just long enough (which is great for my height). Been using it with 2 layers in low 20's and I've been unzipping a bit to manage the generated heat.

I really like the idea of this jacket and wish that they had designed this as more of a normal fit. I love my men's medium Thermoball jacket and thought this would be a great upgrade so I ordered a medium. Unfortunately the medium was way too small even with just a t-shirt under it. It fits nothing like other mediums I have from The North Face... So I returned the medium and ordered a large. Unfortunately the large was still too small. I was able to fit a thing long sleeve under it, but it still restricts movement and looks weird as it fits too snug in odd areas. I would try an extra large but the sleeves would be too long, I am 5' 8" and weight 180 lbs. At this point I will look for another option because this jacket will not fit me correctly with my average size and body build. I would absolutely love this jacket if the design and fit were changed to fit as other TNF pieces do. This just seems to be an inconsistent piece for what I expect from my favorite brand.

There must be wrong with the size small or medium because all the great reviews were for the large size. I tried the small and medium size and they both restrictive at the armpit area to the point that they are uncomfortable even by just trying them.
I both returned them and went to a physical TNF store and tried it there if there is a difference and the problem is the same.
