Shortly after I moved back to Utah, I was made aware that The North Face jackets were one the best; but that it was expensive, too. I never heard of The North Face until I was made aware. So when 2017 winter arrived the one winter jacket I knew I wanted to get was The North Face. I decided on the men's Ventrix due to positive reviews and it was Editor's Choice. I opted for the BLUE ASTER/BLUE ASTER instead of the ACID YELLOW/ALGIERS BLUE, because I wanted to be a little conservative, although yellow is one of my favorite colors. Delivery was pretty fast. The jacket arrived in excellent condition. And when I opened the box - it was shortly after Christmas 2017 when I received the jacket and days after my birthday (birthday & xmas present to myself) - I was like a little kid opening my xmas & birthday present. I remember saying Wow, which was one of the words I used describe my first TNF winter jacket and then Beautiful. The Ventrix is very light in weight and quite thin. I wondered if the thinness of this jacket would keep me warm in cold winter days & nights. In short, I was surprised how warm this jacket kept me during cold days & nights. I normally wear men's medium - I'm 6'1" slender build - but I used the Fit Finder on the TNF site to help find the right size - large. The large was the perfect size, since not being able to try this jacket on in a retail store - fits close to my body - snug. A very comfortable fitting jacket even with a bit of layering. And the color - Blue Aster - I received numerous positive compliments. I'm very happy with the purchase of my first TNF winter jacket. And the price for the TNF Ventrix jacket - yes, expensive, but figured I deserved it. Next winter I'll purchase another TNF jacket, but this time a hooded jacket and yellow in color. Thank you TNF!

I have worn this jacket skiing with a thin base layer, snow shoeing, and hiking in the Sierras. Amazing how warm it is for such a light jacket. The ventilation is great. This is my go to jacket for my winter activities.

Beautiful and very functional jacket. Just be aware that if you are a medium on any other north face jacket then you are probably large on this one. I bought it medium online because i am always medium in north face jackets like the thermoball, but on this one i had to change it to large, because its a slim slim fit. But its an excellent piece of craftmanship and technology. Recommend it very much.

This jacket is a slim fit so I recommend ordering a size above what your regular size is. The jacket is very light weight, breathable but still keeps you really warm in the winter. Very stylish jacket for a winter coat.

I bought this jacket as a mid-layer under a shell. I didn't want a hood as they tend to get in the way when zippered up and wearing a helmet. I took this skiing to Jacksonhole and used it 3 out of the 4 days in single digits (at the top) and in the 20's (at the base). It was windy and snowy. This layer kept me warm and breathing when exerting myself via short hikes or skiing bumps/trees. It also kept me warm on the lift. It was the perfect layer. I chose the color black as it looks nice to wear casually as well and by itself (you may want the hood in this case....)

I own a number of North Face (and other brands) jackets of all types (fleece, apex, thermoball, hybrids, etc.) and was really intrigued by the Ventrix concept, though I wasn't sure how rugged/durable it would be. Mine arrived last week and have worn it as my primary jacket this last week for all kinds of activities (hiking, brisk dog walks, jogging, coaching soccer, etc.) in temps from the mid 20s to about 40 and have been thrilled with its performance and combination of warmth and breathability. The first impression I get when putting on the jacket is that I just put on a long sleeve shirt, it is so lightweight that you hardly feel it is on. It is a very snug fit which makes it great for a layer under a larger shell coat, but also limits your ability to layer underneath it (though I have no problem wearing a thick long sleeve shirt under it). I am 5'9" and 160 and the medium fits perfectly. The hood is nice and snug and works well with a baseball cap, but a bit tight for a tall stocking cap. Another great product from TNF.

Absolutely love the jacket! Was a little steep but knew it'd be worth every penny. Life Time warranty but don't think I'll need to utilize it cause quality with North Face is always exceptional!

This jacket is ideal for the area I live in. It is not too hot in the summer and not too cold in the winter, it is the East Bay in San Francisco Bay Area. The sleeve length was just right, torso length was just right, but the jacket felt tight under my arms. I have 2 North Face fleece jacket, both are sized small but feels very comfortable. The Ventrix jacket was a medium, so I was surprised by the tightness under my arms. I like the useful pockets and I like the way it looked. Unfortunately, I returned the jacket.

I am very particular with my gear and clothing. This jacket is comfortable, stylish, surprisingly warm, and functional hiking/backpacking. I purchased a L due to slim fit. I normally wear a M. (5'7 165 Athletic build)

Went up a size due to "slim fit." Warm enough to wear by itself and lite enough to be an under layer of if needed. Love the breath ability of this jacket

Great lightweight versatile jacket. It's very lightweight but I have been wearing it in the 0 degree weather in Chicago staying warm with an extra layer under it.

This jacket is so comfy - based on size fitting ordered a M but was really tight under the arms and chest area. The L is a perfect fit and i'm 5 10 and 155 lbs so i'm not large. But i love this jacket

6'2 220 and prob right in between sizes. Tried them on in the store and large was just a bit too restrictive. Extremely comfortable and performs as advertised. Allows heat to escape when active and holds it in when not active.

Extremely lightweight yet warm. I needed something that was warm enough for SF Bay Area "cold" weather, but breathable and not too hot, and with enough give to move with me. This jacket fulfills all of these needs even better than I had hoped.

I have had this jacket for two weeks now. The temps have been from below freezing to 55 and there were few times I felt cold. It has constantly rained or snowed. The water beads and I have never seen it soak in. A little shake and it all falls off. The texture is soft and it is light.

Was walking in Seattle, cold day. Saw the North Face store stopped in to see what was new. Picked up one of these tried it on and ...... MAGIC. Having lived in the NW forever our coats are either to light (rain coats) or to heavy (winter coats) while most of our days are in the middle. This coat absolutely nails the perfect mid point. My family keeps trying to steal it from me. May very well end up being my all time favorite coat!
