Poor insulation for 30 degree Chicago weather. Layered with a thick sweater underneath and was freezing. Recommended for Fall, not Winter.

I got this to wear on rafting trips, not while on the boat, but for evenings on the shore. It's important to me that it's light weight and will still insulate when wet, in case my drybag leaks. I also wear the shorter thermoball jacket underneath a dry suit or jacket while on the boat. It insulates while wet, but you don;t really want to get it wet. I t doesn't resist water, nor does it resist wind (which is the bigger problem re: getting cold). So, it's It's pretty useless to wear in the rain, unless you have another jacket over it. Otherwise, it gets wet, soaks up the water, and you're left looking like a drowned cat. I'd recommend it, but only for pretty specific uses. Please NorthFace, make it water and wind resistant, too.

It picks up dirt and grease stains easily. Poor materials used.

My wife loved her waist length thermoball jacket last year, so I went for the long coat this year. Initially bought large based on size of her other coat that still fits nicely. It was way too small. Returned and bought an XL, and it was still too snug in the shoulders. My wife is not enormous by any means. The coat just seems to be cut in an unusually narrow way.

I ordered this in black and unfortunately it looks like a trash bag because it's a bit shiny. It's also not geared for very cold weather. The tag just says warm. The cut and sizing is great, though. I'm 5'8" and 125lbs and small fit well. It's getting returned.

I was so looking forward to wearing this jacket all winter, but, alas, it has been returned. :( I first noticed that the fabric was shinier than I expected, which I didn't like. Then, I tried it on, and the sleeves were way too long, compared to the rest of the fit. Full disclosure: I'm thicker around the middle...thought the seams and the waist cinch would help define my waist, but I looked like a blob. (I do wear other "puffy-style" jackets that work better, so it's just this particular style that didn't work for me.)

Verified PurchaseReview for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I can't believe Zappos would send me a used coat. The pocket zipper was broken, there were no tags on the coat and there appeared to be toothpaste, or some other food spilled all over the front of the coat. Gross!

I bought this jacket for a second time, only now the cut of the jacket is too tight. What a shame! I would've eventually bought in every color I love the original one so much. :(

I have researched jackets for a while and decided on this Thermoball parka. I expected it to be warm based on the research and reviews. It is anything but warm. I have to have layer on top of layer to feel a bit warm but by then I look like a Michelin Man. NOT warm, NOT worth the money. I would NOT recommend it.

I BOUGHT THIS COAT TWO WEEKS AGO AND ALREADY HAVE A HOLE IN IT. I PAID WAY TO MUCH FOR IT TO ALREADY BE FALLING APART!! NOT PLEASED!

Gave this coat as a gift to my girlfriend and we were both surprised at how shiny the material was. Coat felt very delicate, I would question the durability over the life of the coat. Ended up returning the coat.

I spent a long time researching to find a flattering yet warm coat, and saved up to buy this in black.when it arrived I was a little surprised by the shiny look of the fabric, since the picture of the black version looked more matte (some of the other colors on the website look shiny but the black doesn't.) What I can't stand about this coat is the static. After I took it out of the packaging it caused crazy static cling on my hair and clothes. Everytime I wear it, my hair goes up light albert einstein and my shirts/dresses/sweaters cling to me. It makes wearing the jacket very uncomfortable - I don't even want to move my head because it makes my hair stand up more! I put the coat on the back of my chair at work, and when I leaned back at one point, it caused the earbuds to crackle and pop in my ears from the static of the coat - painful. So weird, I've never experienced this with any coat before. Especially do not buy this if you have long hair, you will be miserable. Since I wore the jacket for one day before realizing this problem wasn't going away (I thought it might be from the packaging), I was told I can't return it. I'm so disappointed I wasted all that money considering how much I dislike wearing it.

If you are looking for a warm, comfortable, stylish winter jacket...this is not your coat! The pictures are deceiving- it is terribly thin and truly an overpriced fall jacket. This would be ideal for 40-50 degree weather. Returning it immediately. Very disappointed and will be shopping with other brands from now on.

Didn't fit my wife very well. Too tight in the hip area. Arms were too long for her in the next size up. Exchanged for a different model.

I really liked the length and fit of this jacket. However, true to other reviews, the fabric is very shiny in person. I ordered the dark blue. I agree with other reviewers that the sheen makes the coat look like a garbage bag, which is a shame because the fit is otherwise very cute, feminine and flattering at the waist. I should have paid more attention to the other comments. I have returned the jacket and am looking for an alternative. I am 5'-3" and 120 lbs. The size Small fit perfectly.

Bought this for the winter. On the website it makes you think this is a warm coat. I was freezing in 40 degree weather! Also not good in the rain. It was a beautiful pink color and I would recommend for fall but not winter. I returned and bought a down coat.

The regular thermoball fits great; however, the parka does not fit up to this standard. I originally bought a medium and it was too short in the sleeves and the length wasn't as long as I anticipated. I exchanged it for a large and the sleeves still fit a bit short but the arms were baggy. It was extremely poofy and I looked like I had on a space suit combined with a fat marshmallow. I now own the regular thermoball in a medium and its amazing.

The fabric is too thin. For that price and cut I want it to feel warm.
