The website suggested a medium, I ordered a large and made the right choice. I am 5' 9".

I really like this coat. I brought it for the cold weather in philly. But we only had windy weather so far. It keeps me warm on those late nights and it's very stylish.

Overall I am pleased with this jacket. But I do have a few things I love and dislike so here goes.. Dislike- if your anything like me (big hips- smaller upper body) this may not work for you. I tried on a bunch of different sizes to get it fit well on the hips but not be too big up top. Ultimately, I'm not sure I like the fit on the one I chose so I may return it and get the shorter style so here will be no hip issue. Someone without big hips won't have a problem. Also, I thought this coat would replace my big bulky parka but it's definitely not warm enough if you plan on being outside a lot. I plan to use it when I'm out shopping for the day in and out of the car or driving the kids to school, etc but when any outdoor activities or being outdoors for long periods of time this would need to be seriously layered to be warm enough. I love that it's so lightweight and comfortable while driving, etc. In conclusion I think this is a great coat but will not replace your heavy winter coat!

Nice coat, light weight and stylish for a puffer type coat. I do wish they offered it in petite sizes as it a bit long for my 5'3" frame. Also wish there were some more colors- got the plum which is really a deep pink.

I bought this coat for my daughter, who is vegan and does not wear anything insulated with down. This cost has primaloft insulation, which I have had trouble finding. The color is brilliant, the sizing looks great, and it's so light weight I could easily hold the box in one hand. My daughter is going to love it - I almost don't want to wait until Christmas to give it to her!

I am a college student who in the winter has to deal with cold weather and this coat fits well to put a sweatshirt under for more layers and still looks cute. It is tailored on the sides which lets you still have a figure in a big warm coat. It is a little thinner than expected but very warm so you get the best of both worlds.

The Northface Women's Thermoball Hooded Parka is a great value considering the price and quality. Not only does the sleek, slimming design look great on, but it is surprisingly VERY warm and it does a great job insulating against the harshest New England wind, rain and snow. I bought this item as a gift for my wife and she was in love with it the minute she tried it on. This coat will keep you toasty without making you look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man! I highly recommend this item for any woman looking for a really warm coat, without the usual bulk that comes along with wearing one.

I purchased the thermoball women's parka for the upcoming winter. I work at a preschool and I have to be outside with the kids for recess so I'm looking for something comfortable & warm. I haven't been able to utilize the coat yet because it hasn't been cold enough. I ordered a small size according to their fitting chart (petite size - 4'11 & 107 lbs) and it fits perfectly. I really hate wearing coats but I like that this parka is not bulky & i won't feel like the michellin man. Depending on the temperature, I can add layers & still feel comfortable wearing the coat. Another plus is that the hood fits! The color (Dramatic Plum) is heavenly; especially for the dreary winter months. North face...if you're reading this please provide more bright & cheery colors on your other coats.

I like this jacket a lot. I have been wanting a north face parka for some time now. I gave it 4 stars because I have to exchange it for a medium. I wear a size small in everything. Jackets, shirts, sweaters, etc. I am 5'6, 125 pounds. I felt like the size small was tight around my lower hip area - almost skin tight. Since it's a jacket and I will be wearing something underneath, I don't want it to be really form fitting. The material is great and you can tell it's nice quality. I would order a size up.

Bought this for my 12 year old. She loves it. We'll see how it holds up to a Jersey winter. Love that it is light weight but not allergenic down.

Product was great. Came quickly & looked great on. However, had to return because it was too lightweight. Was very warm when i tried it on, but felt like I wasn't wearing coat at all in terms of heft. I wanted something with a little more weight. Would recommend to anyone looking for pretty, warm, lightweight, very movable coat.

I wore this coat to my son's football game in October in upstate New York. It was an important game - his last home high school football game as a senior - and the weather was awful - rain and a cold wind. I bought this coat in anticipation of this game. I wanted to look nice because parents were being recognized before the game and I also wanted to stay warm and dry while doing it! This coat delivered. I had several compliments on it and I made it through the game without freezing!

This parka really works for me in Seattle. I am always cold, especially with the wet weather, so I wanted something cozy, like down, but that was able to keep me warm when it rains. The Thermoball seems like the best option for me. I have the parka in graphite grey and it's a beautiful color. I like the pop of bright pink on the inside and the grey is good neutral. I wanted something longer, however, with a longer torso, I wish the waist sat a little lower, I'm frequently tugging it down. Also-- it definitely runs SMALL-- I have curves and the L was almost too tight to zip up comfortably, but the XL was too ridiculously big everywhere else. TNF- PLEASE design for a woman's curves, especially in pieces like parkas. Besides the fit, I truly love this jacket and the fit is such that I can make it work and it still looks cute.

This coat is a little snug on me in the chest area due to my chest size however it has provided great warmth in the Minnesota weather. The color is great and pops. I purchased the coat in pink. I cant feel any air come through and the snow doesnt stick to it all. The length is great im 5'2 so it comes to my knees. I dont have to worry about snow getting all over me. The coat is very light. When out shopping you can ball it right up and put it in your purse or a shopping bag. It has inside pockets which have made holiday shopping easy. I can fit my bank card, keys and phone in pocket ! I dont regret this purchase at all

If you have a chest size larger than a D, select the next size up. Tight fit, but cute jacket.

I'm allergic to feathers/down so I researched this coat and was so disappointed that it wasn't warm enough and I thought it would be longer.

I bought this coat because I already have the Thermoball Cardigan jacket. The material for this coat is very shiny and the fit was off. If it had not been super shiny, I would have kept it, but I ended up returning it.

I was really excited about this jacket so far. The look is great, it is very lightweight and it was surprisingly warmer than expected, which I loved. However, after only three days using it, the fabric in the back started to pill badly because of my backpack. This was extremely disappointing and I had to return the jacket... I would like to buy this product again, but why would I buy something that doesn't resist everyday life doing normal things such as wearing a backpack to walk in the city?

The color is a beautiful blue! Fit was way too snug in my regular size. Would be a better fit for a small waisted person. Returned it to the store for a different style.

I am 5'3" and 108 lbs, slender athletic build, and the XS was the perfect fit. Lightweight. Cinch at waist is great for figure. Perfect for temps around 30-40. I have room to layer a thick sweater or a quilted vest underneath for temps in the low 30's or lower. However, I don't like the black color this year, so I'll be returning it. TNF black color this year (purchased November 2016) was shiny--shinier than I expected. Looks cheap like a black trash bag. The main picture on the product page looks like a matte black. I hope next year North Face produces this jacket in a matte black color, then I will be sure to buy it.
