Ive been using this hoody for about a year. I must admit I really love it. It is warm and cozy and at a same time very durable. I used it almost everyday.. I love the fit - wearing size S - 178cm. One minor issue - zipper garage is not good enough, I'm not sure why so many arc' products don't have full zipper garage. A bit pricy and maybe to heavy for lightweight travel.

I live in Squamish BC; temperature at sea level average out around -5c to 5c in winter. Not terribly windy in winter but rain almost everyday. Spring and fall average around 0c to 10c and very windy. I have two favorite mid-layers: The Delta LT and this Kyanite Hoody. I find wearing a merino 200 base layer with one of both the Delta and or the Kyanite under a Beta AR is almost perfect in any situation. The Kyanite ventilate well if you keep the side pockets open. It also blocks wind quite nicely while still letting some ventilation happen. I often use this hoody fall-winter-spring to go to the store in winter by itself; it's warm enough and the fabric repels light rain without any problem. I find the fit to be excellent. it hugs you where it matters the most while still feeling like there is nothing on your back. The hood fit amazingly as well- one of the most comfortable hood I have ever tried - almost like it was tailored made for me(which I find in many Arc'teryx products by the way.) This hoody also has nice huge pockets with very nice zippers that can be operated with one hand (really nice)and stay closed when you want them to. The sleeves are are comfortable and never rise up the arms and wrists stay nice and snug whatever the exercise you perform. I could go on and on about this hoody. it is an amazing piece of kit! The only thing I can suggest to anyone is you are going to love this garment - if you intend to wear it under your shell and usually wear a beanie or a GTX hat get the Kyanite jacket instead because the hood is a bit thick and you can feel it on your back under your shell. Suggestion: Get yourself a Delta LT to go under your Kyanite. You will love how fast the Delta washes and dries for the next day while you can still wear your kyanite at camp at night to keep you warm.

The Kyanite Hoody is a pretty nice mid-weight for the price. What really appealed to me is the Polartec as that is a tried and true textile that has been around for a very long time. Unlike my Covert Hoody, the Kyanite doesn't ball up at the forearms from general use and rubbing. The Kyanite fits well, partly due to the cut and partly due to the stretch. In that, if you're looking for a decent mid-layer that is highly breathable, then you just found it. Perfect for mild days and perfect to wear under a shell when that mild day has to rain. Compressible, the Kyanite Hoody can be rolled up rather small and placed in your pack for the hike down when you aren't working as hard and need a bit extra. Additionally if it gets wet, because it is so breathable, drying is rather expedient over other hoodies. Functionality and performance are above standard.

It's a hoody that fits well, feels amazing, looks great, and keeps you warm. The hood and sleeves fit closely to layer under other items, so it also integrates into any layering system. The only small criticism I have: the outside fabric is a lint magnet, so keep a lint roller nearby.

This is pretty much the perfect lightweight jacket for mild to chilly weather. I bought one and it quickly became my go-to. The only problem is they kinda become a sickness. Now I have THREE of them. One for the car go-bag, office, and home.

Wore this fleece on an easy 5-mile trail in Mt. Mitchell (40s, light rain). Comfortable, light and warm.

Polartec powerstretch fleece that makes for supercomfort. The hood I highly addictable and gets worn almost everyday. As a stand alone piece or as a layer under my shell jackets. When used as a stand alone piece remember that it's not wind resistent. 3 months use shows absolutely no wear. Still looks new

I bought this Kyanite hoody last year, although I didn't need it- the hoodless version I bought in Zermatt in 2005 still looks like new after countless wears. But I love that one so much that I treated myself to another color. It's a versatile, flattering, comfortable fleece, and it's hands-down one of my favorite clothing buys ever. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

I've recently added this to my Arc collection. I wasn't sure to get the Kyanite Jacket or the hoody but the little price difference swayed me to the hoody. The material is soft and warm. It seems fairly durable with what I've thrown at it so far. It's a real nice looking, clean cut piece and I like the embroidered logo. Nice big pockets and an internal pocket too which is always a bonus. I've read other reviews of pilling but I've not experienced this. With regards to size, I'm normally a medium in all things Arc'teryx. I wanted a little more room so went for a large. Due to the trim fit, I got what I wanted so I'm happy. In all, a great piece which you should really consider.

I've had this now almost a year. I'm impressed. It's really warm especially when used as a mid layer. It's my go to when it's cold out -10C to -20C. I have under the Fission SV and I'm cooking. Especially when I'm just standing around in the wind and blowing snow. Material is soft and comfortable.

Once again I am delighted with Arc'teryx products. This hoody is extremely comfortable, fits perfectly and adds well to my layering portfolio. I can wear it on cool days and under a shell or down vest on colder days. Wore it yesterday on a run under a vest (19 degrees F) and it provided adequate insulation while wicking moisture as designed. My new favorite hoody!

I love this hoody, great midlayer on colder days. Two capable pockets are very useful, especially for your electronics which would suffer in your shell's pockets.

Been wanting a new hoody for a while and after a bit of research and taking the plunge, this has fully lived up to the hype. An ideal top for all round use. So far so great!
