Just before winter, I began exploring options for a warmer jacket to pair alongside my Atom LT for when temps get colder. I narrowed it down to two options, the Cerium LT and the Thorium AR.. Based on everything I read, the Cerium LT had plenty of great reviews, however mixed reviews when compared to the Thorium AR. The Thorium AR had better reviews based on warmth and was more robust, yet slightly heavier... while the Cerium LT was lightweight, cost more, and has a lighter face fabric causing it to be more prone to puncturing. In careful review, this all lead me to land on the Thorium AR... I chose the Thorium AR for the greater warmth, durability, and less cost. However, once I received it, I wasn't as instantly in love as I thought I would be. Although quite warm from initial impression, I didn't care for the slightly larger fit... It was enough to keep my mind wondering if I should have tried the Cerium LT. So I did. I decided to purchase the Cerium LT for comparison and once it arrived, I tried it on, and bam... THIS was IT. I instantly loved the fit and lightweight design that you really can't appreciate unless you try it on for yourself. Understanding that the face fabric is a finer denier, I know better than to be bushwhacking or wearing it standalone in activities that leave it prone to puncturing. Just play it smart when you're wearing it and keep in mind that it isn't bomb proof (or thorn proof) and you'll be ok. With that being said, over the last few months I've had the opportunity to test this jacket out on multiple occasions and it even works great with just a simple t-shirt on underneath, keeping me comfortable in the 20's (F) with little to no physical activity. Even though the Cerium LT isn't rated quite as warm as the Thorium AR, it's close enough and honestly just what I needed. I think (for me) the Thorium AR would have been overkill for where I live in southeastern, USA. Plus, having the ability to properly layer the Cerium LT leaves me with greater options for temperature control in different uses. I've had it now through the winter season and I'm completely satisfied with my decision to go with the Cerium LT and highly recommend taking it into consideration.

This jacket was all I expected it to be, which is to say "perfect." I'm 5'10" 165 and the M fit perfect. Keeps me warm as a mid layer in 15-20 F with a shell and base layer. Quality construction.

Verified PurchaseReview for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Very disappointed in this product. The first week I owned the jacket I got three holes in it and this was just going to the office. I have no idea how I got the holes in it. I would hate to see what would happen if I wore it skiing or in the woods. The material is super thin and not durable. I like the style and it is comfortable. I thought to return it but figured since I was the one that got the holes in it Zappos would not take it back. We sowed the holes up and will move on. More expensive does not equal better quality. I will not be purchasing any other jackets by Arc’teryx.

I bought this during the Labor Day sale, and it has been my go-to jacket since. I live near Anchorage, AK, and we have lots of cool, damp weather 35-50 F. So far it has been good to wear with just a sweater, but as it gets colder, I may need a shell jacket to go over it. I haven't had any feathers come out, fingers crossed. Also I am in love with the color, I picked Whiskey Jack and it is the richest, darkest plum. I do think it runs a little small, I had to size up to a large

The Cerium LT Hoody is an integral part of my layering system. The 850-fill is lightweight and packable that I use as a mid-layer or as a stand-alone piece as the conditions dictate (comes in handy while ice-climbing under my hard-shell). That said, I've had my Cerium LT Hoody for two seasons and while it has done an adequate job as a mid-layer or stand-alone outer layer during high-output activities, it has fallen a little short in cold weather conditions or at altitude during breaks at say Kilimanjaro (this is where my newly purchased Cerium SV Hoody now steps in to fill that gap).

I am very happy with my purchase. This coat is so comfortable, light and warm enough for mild winter. It's the perfect coat to travel in the car during winter.

I love it. I love it., I love it, I love it. I love it. Is that enough characters? (A bit pushy, guys. Accept the compliment and move on.) Remarkable, exceptionally rare 21st C kindness (those Canadians!) generous trusti in their customer, full support from customer service.

I have an older style of this from a year ago and this past winter it has been an absolute game changer. It is so good at insulating overall, I was perfectly warm in cold weather but not too hot once the temperature picked up. Also so convenient that is packs into a tight bag that comes with the jacket. Super comfortable and great overall.

I have had my Cerium for 2 years now, and it is one of my staple jackets. It packs down small and is very lightweight and surprisingly durable. I'm rough with my gear and have had no tears yet. My partner's cat managed to pee on it, and after several intensive washes later it's back to 100% again. Built to last!

I wore this jacket almost every day this winter, it's super cozy and perfect for a Canadian winter! Great for snowshoeing through the woods, watching wildlife or heading into town for some errands. Wearing this jacket during field work under the Beta AR kept me warm down to -25C. It can be too warm while doing high output winter activities, however it's super light which makes it a great addition to my pack as an insulating layer after activities. My favorite thing about this jacket is the hood! Nice and warm as well as a good fit that doesn't blow off in windy weather.

I got this jacket for daily backcountry snowshoeing and found that it was a perfect fit for my activities. The jacket has amazing insulation and works quite well under a more robust hard shell when hiking through the dense forest. The jacket has a great balance of breathability when snowshoeing and XC-skiing while also keeping me warm. The fit of the jacket is also quite nice and allows for a lot of mobility.

I've been using this jacket as a mid-layer with the Beta AR hardshell on top for winter fieldwork. My core has stayed toasty while standing in the cold in -25C and I could not be happier. Super lightweight (great for layerings), warm, functional pockets, and a great classic puff look overall.

I've had this jacket for a few years now and absolutely, it is my go-to jacket during the Maine weather lows. I have been satisfied with the durability and wear, I do agree, it runs small (I'm in between a small and a medium, sized up). Thank you for such great products, truly enjoy staying warm on colder days with this jacket!

Just received today (shout out to Arcteryx speedy shipping!). On first impression I agree with others in that the zippers do seem to be a bit delicate and that I definitely wouldn't want to be bushwhacking with the arato 10 nylon shell. First wear was in -25c, -35c with the wind chill, wore it with a light long sleeve and a polyester sweater underneath. Was comfortable while walking, and got toasty once I got to a light jog. Wouldn't want to wear this in high winds with no shell, but this thing sure is warm. Cobalt Moon colour is super great and a nice neutral option. I'm 6'2, 190lbs athletic build, L fits quite well, feels a little tight width wise in the shoulders but it's certainly not a big issue. Excellent work!

I have had this jacket for 5+ years now and it is a solid performer. Very light, packable, and warm. I have never had an environment where I have been active and left cold while wearing this jacket. Basically, if your body temp is up this thing will keep you warm, as designed. There have been some conditions where it was really cold (~ 0 degrees), windy, and I was minimally moving where the jacket was not sufficient as an outer layer. Something to note is light, and the tradeoff is that the fabric is not the most durable. If you are looking for something more durable you need to look elsewhere in Arc'Teryx's range because this is not designed for that purpose in mind. Being said I only have one minor cut after 5 years. Fit is definitely on the slimmer side and I would recommended trying on before purchasing. Even though it is not the cheapest out there I think it is well worth the money.

I have had this jacket for several months now, and it has been my go-to! I love how lightweight and warm it is, and it layers perfectly under my Beta SV jacket in wet conditions. Also, I'm very hard on gear, so I'm also very impressed with how durable the material is.

I bought this jacket for my PCT thru-hike after comparing a lot of different down jacket specs. I loved this and would choose this jacket over and over again. I ended up carrying this jacket the entire time because I was very nervous about being cold and it was my go to in camp. I hardly wore the jacket while hiking just because it was so warm. I had a lighter color which showed a lot of dirt (after 5 months it look pretty filthy) but I washed it with down special soap once I finished and it came out looking new! I'm 5'7" and about 140 lbs and medium was the perfect size.

This jacket lives in my pack for long distance runs. I live in the mountains, so it is possible a storm can roll in at anytime. It is also nice to know if for some reason I have to be out longer than anticipated I have a warm jacket when I need it. It is light and packable. I just recently ran the Grand Canyon and the temperature swing was 60 degree fahrenheit. At the beginning I needed the warmth for only a short period of time before heating up, so it was nice that I could stow it easily. Then I was happy to have it on the other side as the temps dropped again.

I bought this puffer last winter because the Thorium was out of stock for months and there was no sign of it coming back anytime soon. I was in the market for a new everyday puffer and was hesitant based on this style being designed more for layering and the Thorium being more durable for the elements. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. I provides the perfect amount of warmth and pairs well with my shell when it's wet or there are higher winds. I will say that the outer layer feels quite thin and like it could easily snag, but it packs up very small and is great for travel and hikes. I am typically between a small and medium at Arc'teryx and medium fit perfect. (Size small in my beta lt)
