I bought this for all-round use and it does the job perfectly. Light enough to take anywhere whilst also protecting against the native climate of Scotland: wet, windy, and cold.

I bought this is in February. Great outer shell, wear solo over a shirt in spring sunshine and showers, or over a number one layer on a frosty early morning. Rugged enough for hikes, cool enough design to attract inquisitive glances. Liked it so much, I bought two colours.

Bought a few months ago, worn in rain multiple times. It has always kept me dry and is great over a mid layer.

I love my Arc'teryx. Great quality and multi purpose, excellent running jacket, complete water proof and wind proof. Extra zip for air flow under the arms is a great feature. Purchased in the colour emmersion, and absolutely love it! Would highly recommend this jacket!

As an Oregonian, having a good rain jacket is definitely a must to get through the long, wet winters here. The Beta LT is by far the best jacket I've owned. It's incredibly light weight, breathable, and keeps you DRY without sweating inside. The function is the most important feature, but the jacket also looks really nice and has a very flattering fit. If you're weighing your options and researching other jackets, the price tag of the Beta LT is definitely worth it. Invest in good quality rain gear that will give you many, many happy, wet winters.

I bought a Beta LT to be my go-to shell for all conditions and haven't been disappointed yet. Rain, snow, sleet, wind- it's kept me warm and dry. It breathes well, and if conditions demand, the pit zips add quick ventilation. It is super lightweight and easily packable into a small pouch. Definitely recommended as a versatile, all-around lightweight shell that will stand up to the heaviest of downpours.

This is such a solid hardshell with classic styling and all the functional details (love pit zips and great hood!). I go between an XS and a S (5'5" 115lbs) in jackets and got an S in this one to make sure there would be enough room in the shoulders for a down jacket underneath. The black also looks so understated, at first glance no one would suspect it such a technical jacket. I feel like this one will last for years.

My business has been doing curbside service for the last year so I bought this jacket to stand in the rain all day. Never once has the rain soaked through to my clothes underneath. I've worn it over light layers as a rain jacket and over multiple warmer layers in the snow. It always performs. My only critique is that I wish it had some type of chest pocket (internal or external) so if you want more pockets, look for the Beta SV or other Beta.

I purchased this jacket about two months ago and have loved it since it arrived. It's much more than a light shell jacket, it is robust in the worst weather ( mix of rain and snow ) -10c to -20c with a light down underneath is awesome. Blocks wind like no other and is waterproof. Excellent value and excellent product.

I bought this a couple months ago and it is great just enough protection I previously owned the beta AR and it was a tad to bulky this I feel gives all the same protection but lighter. Wish the pockets were a tad higher but not a big issue

I use this as a packable rain and ski jacket... it's extremely light weight and packs to nothing but gives complete rain and wind protection,

Super waterproof, love the fit, everything I want in a jacket. The pit-zips make this a great piece to wear during any snowboard trip or just as a raincoat.

Worn in -25C windchill snowstorms up all the way up to +25C in the rain. This jacket is truly multi-functional. Wind-proof, water-proof, comfortable, breathable. Great on its own or as a shell to layer in winter. One of the best purchases I have made.

I bought to replace an arc'tery lightweight jacket that I had for over 10 years. Very happy with product, quality and fit. I'm slim so I like the tighter fit and adjustments. I went with this model because of the vented armpits which is a must in warmer humid climates. I use as my go to rain jacket.

Great for a run in the rain on its own, perfect for thicker weather layered over the same-size Thorium

Love having this in my backpack on hikes as backup for when the weather changes. It's lightweight but provides great rain and wind protection and acts as a great layer to throw on once you reach the summit and are hanging out for a bit. It fits great and not baggy at all.

Loving this new Beta LT! Been wearing my Beta AR everywhere, and wanted to get a lighter piece and this has solved all my problems!! Very happy to have a lightweight jacket that features pit zips - even wore it on a mild night skiing at Cypress and have no bad things to say! I think Fortune might be my new favourite blue.

The Beta LT is the absolute best rain jacket I've ever worn, and I'm thrilled that Arc'teryx gave it a slimmer cut than their other outer shells. If you're looking for a no-compromise rain shell with hand pockets and not chest pockets, this is the one to get for sure. It feels impenetrable when it's raining. I love the outer GORE-TEX Pro material but it is fairly crinkly/noisy, but it's not bothersome to me. Layering an Atom LT under this (in the same size as the Beta LT) is outstanding.

Beta series never disappointing. The attention to detail (on top of superior product) is where Arc'teryx really separates themselves from the competition. The Beta is a great all around jacket, looks good enough to wear around the city and built rugged enough for multi day hikes in the wilderness.
This jacket is an investment and you will not be disappointed.

The Beta LT was exactly what I was looking for when I needed to purchase a shell for (primarily) outdoor winter activities. I do a lot of winter hiking/trekking, but also wanted a shell that was versatile enough for some skiing or other cold and wet weather activities. The Beta LT has shined for all of these purposes and I love every time I put it on. It's impregnable - cold wind is only noticeable because of the parts of your body that the jacket doesn't cover, rain and wet weather simply beads and runs off (remember to re-treat the shell as necessary as part of care and maintenance).
I take a medium almost sight-unseen in every Arc'teryx product, and the medium in the Beta LT was absolutely true-to-size. While there are many body shapes and everyone will experience a fit that's a little different, what I love about the jacket is the ability to layer everything I need for various situations, and still feel like the fit is perfect. For example, I can wear a wool base layer, a fleece, and a Proton LT underneath without feeling bulky at all. On the flip side, I could wear a t-shirt or base-layer alone and the jacket doesn't feel too big. The jacket feels incredibly well made, and very durable.
I strongly recommend this jacket based on my experiences. I would not hesitate to buy another, or to recommend to close friends and family. You will be hard pressed to find a better shell for whatever the outdoors can throw at you. I do wear mine in urban-settings as well - i.e. to the office or for errands during bad/inclement weather. If you buy this shell for strictly urban use, I can't say that it won't suit - it looks great, albeit a little technical perhaps, but there are jackets in the Arc'teryx line-up that are better aimed at what you may require in an urban setting (e.g. the new Fraser).
For comparison, I am 5'8", ~165lbs, and an athletic build. Medium is absolutely perfect, and I wear medium in all other Arc'teryx products.
