Imagine my excitement when randomly searching SAS website, I found what seemed to be the very same indespensible shoes that I remembered so fondly from 20 or 30 years ago. I had bought them randomly at Bloomingdale's and they were the best shoes ever. Bright red. These days, your version is a red with more brown in them but I was so smitten I bought a pair of black ones along with the red. I love them. But. It's possible my feet have deteriorated or my memory isn't keen because as great as these shoes are and as many compliments as I receive every time I wear them, these shoes are not the great walking shoes I remembered. For real every day life, they are fine and I love the way they look, but don't buy these shoes thinking they are walkers because, unhappily, they are not. That's the only reason they're not getting 5 stars because for regular life, they are awesome, but for serious walking on a trip, I may have to bring my sneakers!

Based on reviews that said this shoe runs narrow, I ordered a medium width instead of my usual narrow. I have to return them. I then ordered my usual 9N and they fit well and are comfortable. I have prominent ankle bones on the outer sides of my feet and this shoe has relatively high sides so they hit those bones, but a thin odor absorbing insert raised the foot enough to minimize that problem. I like the gray color. It’s not the most stylish shoe, but with my combination of a hard-to-find size, a lot of bony prominences that can’t be rubbed, and my insistence on comfort, these fit my needs. I think they can be worn with a casual skirt or pants.

I LOVE ZAPPOS!!!! I was buying these for a new job and needed them right away.. They sent them and arrived 2 days later.. They were too narrow, as I had purchased the Medium width.. So I purchased the Wide the next day and Zappos had the new shoes at my house the following day!!! Just in time for me to start my new job! They are great and will have a bit of a break-in period as they are a tad Narrow, but they are cute, comfy and will go with practically everything... I do hope that they hold up due to their pricing. Thank you Zappos!!

I had surgery on both feet when I was a child, which helped with some of my issues, but it has always been hard to find shoes that fit and don't hurt. I had high hopes for these shoes. They are very comfortable, but the medium was a bit narrow, so I ordered a wide, which was much better. The problem with these is that they slip off of my heel very easily. I suppose this is partly because I cannot wear snug shoes, which might help with the slipping if I could. Also, they are a little bit heavy, at least compared to other shoes I tried (I've ordered 7, returned 5 and will soon return these). I think the heaviness makes them want to slip off my heel even more. So, sadly, I cannot wear them.

In the end, the best shoe for me is the SAS Metro. I am keeping those!

I bought another pair. I purchased a 12W since people commented on how narrow the shoe is. It seems to be working well. Its only been 2 days but I wore my other pair all day. I liked the design of these so I decided to get something different since comfort isnt an issue. I would suggest go up a width if you plan to wear socks with them like I do.

This was a nice cushiony shoe. The sole felt comfortable. The fabric top had just enough give, too. However, the back just slipped right off my heel, even with socks, even putting a wedge beneath the removable insole. This is a common problem for me, so if you don't have skinny heels, this shoe would probably work for you. Other people have commented that it felt narrow, and while I felt there was adequate toe room, there wasn't so much that I thought it was worth trying a 7N instead of a 7M.

I originally ordered a 10N. It was too narrow. I returned it and ordered a 10.5 M based on Zappos' shoe chart. The width was better but the length was too long. I like the style of this shoe well enough to try a third time with a 9.5 M or 10 M. I hope either size fits.

I ordered a 10 N but it was too narrow so I returned it. There was enough space at the back of the shoe that a 9.5 M may be a better fit. This is a beautiful shoe. The design is elegant and would be versatile for my wardrobe. I especially like the copper metallic stripe around the upper sole on the dark brown shoe. I plan to re-order.

A very comfortable shoe right out of the box. In my opinion it looks a bit like a shoe for an older woman, but it works well with my conservative business wardrobe and is very practicle for the office. I wore these to work today and was comfortable all day. They did slip on my heel a bit in the morning, but after my feet warmed up from walking around they were good. These shoes do feel a bit more narrow than my other shoes, but it was not uncomfortable for me. If someone was borderline between a medium and a wide these might be too tight.

i owned a pair of these shoes and so ordered two colors of the same size. the black was at least a half size larger than the same sized pair i already owned and i also walked out of the navy. Back they went and i ordered the same shoes a half size smaller. the blacks fit although now tight in width and the navys even tighter. I decided to keep them both and stretch the navys and hope for the best as i wore my original shoes for two full years and they are still wearable. Zappos was great on order, return, and reorder but it is a risk for me that i decided to keep them.
If they fit, i can say they wear well and are quite comfortable (judging from original pair)

Since my feet are a little wide, I ordered this shoe in wide recommended by other reviews. The toe part fit perfectly but the back of the shoes slide off my feet when I walk. B width would not be wide enough for me in the toe. Very nice looking shoes.

SAS at Zappos is fast becoming my go-to shoe. I wish there were more styles. I wanted a walking shoe with a low heel, super comfortable, loose enough to wear a sock with winter coming and acceptable for work. I tried this and another brand's very similar shoe; the excellent sole for walking outside and the arch support makes this the hands down winner. Have not worn them for a long day yet but I am sure they will be great. I'd have given it a 5 but I think the pewter rim around the sole is a distraction, just give me a black shoe.

It quite comfortable especially the bed of the shoes is so soft like walking on a cloud. However, the style seems like an old lady's shoes. The top part inside has a seam or a shape which hurt the top part of my right foot which is already problematic. Love the soft bed but have to return it. I order a W size, but it is not that wide. I will order a WW next time.

It took some trial and error to get the right size. I ordered 7.5 M, which generally fits. It was very tight across the ball of my foot, so I ordered a 7.5 W. My foot came out of the shoe when I walked and they extended quite a bit past my big toe. I then ordered a 7W, which fit the best of the bunch but is still quite snug across the ball of foot. I'm hoping they'll stretch a bit with wear. Great shoe with pants and other than the difficulty fitting I think they'll be great.
