I'm usually a small in heavier Northface coats so I rode red this jacket in a small. It fit but was not comfortable since I have a bigger bust. I exchanged it for a medium and it fits great. My sleeves are a bit long but that's normal since I am only 5 feet. I love the look of this trench.

I was on the prowl for a no frills cute (minimalist) waterproof wind shield jacket. Purchased this in a medium ( 5'4,145lbs 8/10). Wasn't sure if it would be warm enough or have room for underlayers, but it's been great. I can wear a sweatshirt, sweater or liner jacket beneath and still have mobility. Without these unders it's still a wind protector and really rainproof. Also, doesn't look bulky or too big without layers. Great fit! Taupe is a great muted olive, very neutral.

I bought this to compare it to TNF Ancha II. It's a really nice simple yet stylish raincoat. Not insulated at all so it would be more ideal for fall and spring warm rain season. Sadly I received the wrong size. But as always, Zappos pulled through with great customer service. As far as the Laney vs Ancha, it's very similar in style with the Ancha being insulated without the bulk and Laney having no insulation. Both are really nice and I'm still debating which would be better for my needs living in So Cal.

I love this jacket. After trying two other TNF rain jackets, this was the winner. The fabric is soft and breathable and the style is classic but cute. The snap buttons on the waist can cinch in for a more fitted look. Side zip pockets and one interior zip worked great. I had no issues with not having a two way zipper. Hood worked fine; the chin collar is soft. I wore this jacket last week touring colleges with my son, in 30 to 50 degree temps, sunny and rainy days. The other styles I tried were crunchy and stiff and hot. I am 5 foot tall, under 100 lbs and the XS in Black fit well. Sleeves were long but that's not surprising. This trench is waterproof but doesn't look like; I loved wearing it even in the sun. Totally worth it.

Love the way this coat looks and feels. 5'5" 130lbs and the small fits well. It's tight but I'm able to wear it over sweaters and thin fleece jackets. I bought in preparation for a trip to Iceland but plan to have it as my rain coat during the fall and spring months. Only thing I'd change is to make the hood larger so it covers more of your head/face when it is raining.

I am 5'7 athletic build, this coat highlights my hourglass figure really nicely. I live in boston and use it for commuting. Works great! Only thing with the beige is i wish the interior was also beige instead of the navy.!

I needed a waterproof coat that wasn't clunky. This one has a great silhouette and can be worn to look quite flattering--even with a dress! Size wise, it's perfect. Room to move comfortably, but also sleek and fitted--and I love the sleeve design (longer on one side)! Water just beads right off, and the lined collar is soft and cozy. Fit-wise, I'm 5'7",125 lbs, athletic, and I tend to hover between a small and a medium in TNF stuff. This small is definitely on the slightly bigger side for TNF (some smalls in TNF are too small for me in the shoulders; some I can wear). I usually wear a small in most other clothing lines. I just wish TNF would make these in less drab colors--red would be great!

Love this jacket! I would size up. I am 5'6" and 140Lbs, always in the gym. The medium was to small on my shoulders so I sized up to a large. Highly recommend !

Great coat. Slightly warmer than the standard rain coat. Would definitely recommend for a lightweight jacket!

I love this rain coat. It has a classic fit. It is breathable, it has snaps and a zipper so if you quickly need to secure it you can snap it. The black is timeless. I ordered a medium , I am 5'6" 118 pounds. It fits great. I also bought one for my daughter in law. She loves it too, she had previously returned a more expensive Lululemon rain coat that wasn't flattering and had a difficult zipper and no snaps.

I actually returned the jacket, due to extremely personal preferences, but I would recommend to others! TNF has been a great company in terms of customer service, and really appreciated being able to return the jacket free of charge..not many companies are that accommodating.

I use to be a very active person until I was diagnosed with a rare lung disease. This coat is perfectly styled whether for active use or dress. I am 5'3, 140lbs, bust: 34E-F and the large fit me best. It keeps the water off my face so I can manage my portable oxygen. The sleeves are a bit long but really not an issue because they covers the hand I am using to carry my O2 which keeps my hand from getting wet and rain running down onto the portable. I think that is why they designed the sleeve length to be longer on top of the hand and shorter underneath. Also, I noticed it covers my hand the same when I have to use an umbrella to make sure my portable O2 doesn't get wet or when I have to wheel my briefcase/purse. I bought this particular coat because I needed it to keep me dry down my legs and if push came to shove I actually could get my portable under the coat and keep it vented if I had to make a mad dash in the rain. I had tried it on in the store and the Med fit but when I ordered it I bought the gray and I needed a large. The gray goes with everything and looks a bit more dressy when needed. I think possibly I had tried on last years Laney Trench and the newer ones are sized more correctly. Don't pass this up. It has a lifetime warranty and who can pass that up.

I was looking back for a legitimate WATERPROOF rain coat that was longer and had a great hood, as I'm not an umbrella girl. I live in the Midwest and we've had a ton of rain this season and I couldn't be happier! It's lightweight and dries fast. Perfect over warm weather gear in place of a big bulky coat, or over "daily" clothes on a chill or windy day when a big coat isn't necessary! Love the pockets and adjustable straps at the waist that adjust to the choice of "bulk of clothing" underneath...depending on the season and weather. And it IS TOTALLY AND COMPLETLY WATERPROOF!!! Such a great find!!!!

I tried 3 competitive brands before settling on North Face! The others were tight in my shoulders, where N F was not! The overall fit was much more comfortable also! My boyfriend insisted that I was going to be happier with the N F, and he was right

This coat has been great as a layer for under 20 degree weather and perfect by itself for rainy/fog 40/50s. The pockets are huge and great for travel. I am taller at 5' 9" and would like the jacket to be a tad bit longer but it's not a deal breaker.
